Maybe this is something you’ve already talked about.
Why does Stevie looks really happier singing with Tom Petty, Sheryl or Chris Isaak than playing with FMac?

Cause she likes them best. It's something exciting and new, something that she doesn't get to do as often.

I see it as getting a brake from something you have done by default for most of your life.

Yeah, if she had to work with them all the time, she wouldn't like them either. For sure, Tom would get tired of her pretty quickly.

Yeah, I think she enjoys playing with them more because she likes them :D and that's besides of being in the Mac so she likes it, I guess :D

I think its because she feels a little more appreciated by Tom, Sheryl, and Chris. I think one of the more negative aspects of FM for her came from the fact that they tended to make her feel like the kid sister and less of a partner. I remember reading somewhere that she felt as though they didn't really take any of her ideas or opinions seriously.

I agree with this. She loves singing duets with someone she doesn't feel like she's competing with. These people make her feel like it's an honor to sing with her.

^Sheryl and Chris, yeah. I think with Tom it's more her looking up to him than feeling he's honored.

She obviously prefers one to the other. Everyone knows that.

I think it's a matter of her liking her band more. Her sound, her songs. Her as the focal point. She's got a great band.
