An easy thread?
Name TWO Perfect Stevie Nicks moments to you- be it a song, a lyric, concert moment, anything- except, maybe nothing too obvious, that we all know that we all love , such as the 'Sisters of the Moon' Mirage video performance, as perfect as it is.
Just 2 perfect moments from Stevie's career that have always been special to you that you enjoy revisiting. And, you can add another 2 anytime you think of another two, so it doesn't even have to be your 'ultimate' 2, just the first 2 you think of .
My first 2:
1. 'Sleeping Angel', from the 'Fast Times At Ridgemont High' soundtrack.
The first time I heard this, I knew it would be a song I would love forever, and I have, it has never diminished as a favorite of mine, for 27 years now. I think this may be the best overall song ever written and performed by Stevie Nicks. If she'd never sung or written any song besides this one, it would still be proof that she possesses genius as a singer and writer. Love it.
2. Her harmony vocals on 'Insider', all versions are perfect, to me- the 2 Tom Petty album versions, and the filmed version in Peter Bogdonovich's "Runnin' Down A Dream" film.

Okay, I'll bite...

1. Stevie's version of "At Last" at the Walden Woods benefit. Stevie's more of a singer/songwriter than an interpreter of other people's material, so this could have been a disaster. But she is so present and so in synch with this song that it's hard to imagine a better version- even better than Etta James, IMHO!

2. "Gold and Braid" from the White Wing Dove concert. It's all there- a great, passionate vocal, incredible piano from Roy Bittan, wild tambo, high kicks, mad booty shaking, a killer guitar solo from Waddy- in my opinion it is the quintessential Stevie moment.

Oh, thanks for the reply, and I totally agree about 'At Last'. So stunning. That's why I hoped people would 'bite', I want to 'revisit' some of the replies that show up. 'At Last' now playing :)
And I also totally agree with your "quintessential Stevie Nicks" 'Gold And Braid' comment. Two excellent choices, thank you!

2 more:
1. Imperial Hotel from 'Rock A Little'
2. Doing The Best That I Can from 'Other Side of the Mirror'

Some 20 years later, both of these songs still have the same impact they did on me the day that I heard them for the first time. The first, just a simple, underrated rocker with high notes for days, to love. Just fun and nothing more :)
The second is a haunting, stark musical opus that resonates with truth, self-awareness, bitterness, sadness, resignation, and ultimately, survival. It really could be the theme song for recovery from any emotional or chemical nightmare, and those with post traumatic stress disorder (anyone? :wavey:
might find some comfort in it.

1. I think lyrically Angel is perfect, all the way through the song.

2. Background vocals on Over My Head

There are so many but these are the first two that came to mind:

1. "Beauty and the Beast" from The Soundstage Sessions. Such beauty and power. It does give me goosebumps. I'm still trying to accept the fact that this song was left off the DVD...:distress:

2. "Nightbird". This songs never ceases to affect me, even after all these years.

I looove the "Gold and Braid" high kicks from that show. Have you seen this video?

1) The "Sisters of the Moon" performance in the Tusk Doc outtakes. Not quite the "hot mess" of Mirage, but still gives me chills. Especially the part when she throws her fist in the air and the audience jumps to their feet. (Yes, I know the screaming fans are supposedly dubbed in, but whatevs.)

2) The "Goodbye Baby" segment in the Destiny Rules documentary. She just looks flawless, and her vocals are spot-on.

Kay so these aren't super obvious, like Rosebud "Rhiannon" or Mirage tour SOTM or working on "Angel" in the Tusk doc...

1) Stevie's singing "Your mood is like a circus wheel, you're changing all the time. Sometimes I can't help but feel that I'm wasting all of my time"/harmonizing/enthusiasm/hand gestures in this video from 2:16 - 2:43
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lmFiRJhjXAQ&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lmFiRJhjXAQ&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

2) "Outside the Rain" from the HBO concert. Stevie's sooo young and looks so pretty! To me, this song's whole performance (and the whole show) is perfection.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KwanTMalpf8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KwanTMalpf8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

1. I think lyrically Angel is perfect, all the way through the song.

You stole one of mine! :)

But yes, I'm with Alexa.... some of my top Stevie moments ever ("Rhiannon" Rosebud, Sisters of the Moon from Mirage and that chilling acapella portion of "Angel"+ the live performance of it from the Tusk Doc) are too obvious.

First two that come to mind:

1. "Rhiannon" from Mobile, AL 8/11/1980: If someone magically conjured video footage of this performance, I would pass out and die of happiness. Really. It isn't a typical Rhiannon exorcism like from 1975-1978, but it is just as haunting as those, and in a totally different way. This recording is, to me, the first example of how "Rhiannon" would change to fit Stevie's life at that time, in some way. That wail at 6:11 and everything from then.... perfection. "Dreams unwind... is that what you want?" I considered to put that line in my tattoo instead of "dreams unwind, love's a state of mind" for a split second... That's how much I love Mobile.
2. "Planets of the Universe" piano demo: The single most heartbreaking thing I've ever heard, ever. It has that quintessential vulnerable power that I give all credit for my love of Stevie... but the power is only there in that she is making the vulnerable decisions, the hard ones. Again, perfection.

1. Sara from the Hollywood Bowl 1/9/80. I love all performances of Sara that I've heard from the Tusk tour, but this one for me is the best. The high 'Saraaaaaaaaaaaa' at the end, how delicate her voice sounds at the beginning, and just the sheer melancholy waiting to be scratched at throughout the performance.

2. Midnight Wind backing vocals, the ending in particular. Someone said in another thread that the song fades out too quickly, and I agree. Stevie tears it apart!

1) ANY live "Rhiannon" performance from 1975

2) "HAEWAFY" from 1987 tour...just Christine & Stevie onstage. CHILLING!!!

First one I thought of:

"Lindsey, don't you think that Rhiannon is a beautiful name?from the "Birds Rising" demo: I cried the first time I heard it, and can cry right now just thinking of it. The emotion in her voice, (speaking voice, mind you), was like a tidal wave coming through my computer.

Also, Landslide form the Soundstage DVD. The pictures of her Dad, and the music, it was absolutley beautiful.

I'm SURE I'll think of two more in a minute:)

This is deffinatley a hard one...
When she was on Storytellers and she was telling the story of Joe Walsh and his little girl, and when she was ending the song of "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" she says, "And when they ask her about the men in her life, and they do ask her, she says they were poets and they were priests..." That whole set was classic.
My 2nd would be when she showed alot of emotion throughout the end of her 1981 WWDove concert. I don't know why, I guess it had something to do with the fact that we all had a taste of a real emotional side to her that we've never seen on film before. It is hard to sing and cry and she pulled it off beautifully. I have done it and believe me it's not easy when your throat closes up.

1. The first time I heard 'Nomad'/'Candlebright' I believe was when the radio station KMET broadcast one of the many Fleetwood Mac or Stevie weekly specials in Los Angeles, I think it was only identified as a 'Buckingham Nicks unreleased track'-- It was such an amazing song, for some reason I really heard early LedZep influences in the song then, I don't think of that so much, anymore. It was an exciting indication, in the very, very early 1980s, that there were some real treasures in the vaults. That early version is sublime in every way. Some of the KMET specials I remember were Jim Ladd Interviews, Mary Turner's (??)Off The Record, The King Biscuit somethin? Hour, and there were others. It was pretty intoxicating, too, as a teenager, to hear the speaking voice of Stevie Nicks, as she was being interviewed during these radio programs.
2. The 'Are You Mine' demo that surfaced on one of the above mentioned radio broadcasts on KMET in the '80s, during the RAL era, was just another nice, almost forgettable, but in it's way, perfect, Stevie Nicks moment. A minor, bonus song eons before the Internet, still reminding us there was all kinds of music being kept from us, so it was 'perfect' to hear some of it.
I love that someone mentioned 'Midnight Wind'-- how I'd wear that song out. I think I finally tired of it, though Stevie WAS perfect on it, just after a while, I realized John Stewart's vocal sounds very cheesy to me, especially at the end, when he just can't ad lib a fade to save his life, and there was Stevie stealing the song. She was wailing, though, gorgeous vocal.

1. All of Stevie's performances of Edge of 17 from the Rock A Little tour, are completely perfect for me.

First one I thought of:

Sorry, this just cracks my **** up.

1. Angel from the Tusk documentary. Perfection. I know all of her lovey dovey **** with Lindsey was probably planned, I don't care. That's not what makes it special. It's how genuinely happy and into the song she is. It's actually almost heartbreaking. I've never seen a performance before or after that matches her energy there. She'll never live to match the beauty again~

A couple more:

1. In the HBO special video, before she goes out on stage she prays. She says something like "Lord, please let us be good or we'll never be able to pay everybody." That was so cute!!

2. "..she spends everyday, waiting for the day...when Everybody Finds Out!!!!"

Mine are...

1. The organ/fender rhodes demo of Gypsy... It's just stunning. Gypsy is already one of my favourite Stevie/FM songs but the use of the fender rhodes just makes it sound so ethereal and delicate. It's beautiful :)

2. The SNL performance of Stnad Back from 1983. It's just got so much energy! There's just something that the album version doesn't seem to capture from these earlier performances of the song. I love it :D

I agree with everyone's favorite moments--priceless! Mine are:

1. Most of the backstage footage from Bella Donna on CV, specifically that clip of Stevie dancing around the studio to Edge of 17.
2. That recording of Stevie and friends in the studio where Tom mics the roses and Stevie asks for a joint: "Tooooommmm? I know you're on the moon, but why are you micing the red dozen roses?" I also love that the guy does a Jimmy Stewart impression. I was just listening to this again and another funny part in when Stevie and this guy are talking about how old they look and they are only 31 or 32. He tells Stevie she doesn't look 30 and she says, "I do when I wake up!" SO funny! Anybody have it to upload--I don't know how!

I love all the candid backstage stuff!

1) "The Chain" from the Mirage DVD. She gives me chills every single time I watch that.
2) Basically everything on Destiny Rules. Seriously. I think she is absolutely precious throughout the entire thing. One of my favorite quotes: "We think all these people that are our age are gonna just come out of the wall and say, 'oh, I'm just gonna start buying music again. And in fact... they're not laying around on the floor smoking dope thinking about what their next record they're going to buy is! They're trying to deal with delinquent children; they're trying to figure out how to pay the rent next month or, you know, how to pay for their house or how to put their kids through college. They are not, the first thing on their mind is not, "oh my God I have to get Billboard to see what the number one record is!"

GREAT idea for a thread!!! . . . :]

1.) The last part of "Beauty and the Beast," Las Vegas, August of 2005. . . . . Also, the REST of that performance! ;)

2.) Stevie performing with Bob Welsh at the opening of Cal Jam II.
One helluva "instinctive" performance, i.m.o.

Runners-up would definnitely be Rosebud Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman with Bob Welsh, GDW in Japan, and Nightbird with Lori and Sharon during the HBO Concert. GDW in The Dance is also definitely "worthy of mention," i.m.o.

Outside of performances, I'd defintely mention the time she donated $10,000 to relief efforts right away when she heard about
the tsunami, and her relatively unpublicized visits to Walter Reed.
Also, somebody posted a photo once in here, of a house she had supposedly bought in order to house some victims of the New Orleans flood/hurricane - I never heard anything about it since and it was never confirmed, so I don't know if it's true or not; but I figured I'd mention it.

Two Perfect Moments:

1. Buckingham Nicks live in Birmingham: "I don't think we've ever seen this many people - I KNOW we've never seen this many people!" - I love how thrilled and surprised they were - and unjaded then - by the crowd in Birmingham. Stevie's (and Lindsey's) comments at that show are so cool to hear now, realizing the magnitude of what was to come in the not so distant future for them with FM.

2. PS22 singing "Landslide" while Stevie "air-directed" them at the Mac Unleashed rehearsal in New York. - How amazing to have a song she wrote become a tool to teach children. I'm sure it gives her a great sense of accomplishment.

This was hilarious! I loved when the guy was wiggling his ass. So cute he was, imitating Stevie. Loved the two of them using cardboard paper as tambourines and the swaying side to side of the tambo's like Stevie does in the video. I used to do that with a real tambo when I was in my 20's.

Our moms rule lol. The other day I was listening to WH in my room (on my new/old turn table!!!) and she came in and helped me hang some stuff up on my walls and was there the whole time the record played. 1. I love Beautiful Child from LIB. Love the delivery, the harmonizing with Lindsey, the long "I" she holds, the lyrics at the end. Just the whole thing. Can't watch this clip enough.

Kay so these aren't super obvious, like Rosebud "Rhiannon" or Mirage tour SOTM or working on "Angel" in the Tusk doc...

1) Stevie's singing "Your mood is like a circus wheel, you're changing all the time. Sometimes I can't help but feel that I'm wasting all of my time"/harmonizing/enthusiasm/hand gestures in this video from 2:16 - 2:43
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lmFiRJhjXAQ&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lmFiRJhjXAQ&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

2) "Outside the Rain" from the HBO concert. Stevie's sooo young and looks so pretty! To me, this song's whole performance (and the whole show) is perfection.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KwanTMalpf8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KwanTMalpf8&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Oh, that Crystal Visions commentary is priceless!

-- The Bon Jovi comments "Bon Jovi, best butt of all time. Bon Jovi best face of all time.....somebody get him on the phone!" (Then she mentions how he's been true to his woman all these years)

--"He probably equates me to the female black swan." (Every Day)

--"Now I'm back on the treadmill, trying to lose some weight." (Stand Back)

--"I look better in this video than in ANY of those over videos!" (SIAB)

She's even more endearing when she pokes fun at herself.

There's many but here's the first 2 Stevie moments I'm thinking about now:

This version of BATB is just magical, watched the dvd last night with tears in my eyes when she sang this and HAEWAFY:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LhOj1l3UwUo&hl=sv&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LhOj1l3UwUo&hl=sv&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And, always make me smile, the end of this awesome interview when she goes "I'm a rock'n'roll singer!!! I'm not a model, I'm not and actress. I would never, ever, ever, EVER, EVER be able to model for Vogue!!!..However..Because I'm only 5 ft 1 inches tall!!!"

Yes, "Beauty & the Beast" in recent years has been the highlight of her solo shows. This one from May 2005 in Vegas is my very favorite (captured by our own Ledgie Paula). (Ignore the "Sing for me Stevie" guy).

That´s very very hard to say.
I´m thinking about the first time I saw her, it´s about two weeks ago :D. When she walked on stage with Lindsey, i got magic feeling :).

And from the long history of her life? I don´t know... I love the long keybord intro to Stand Back, when she is dancing or something on stage. It was great in the beginning of BTM tour, as I always repeat this here... I think that in all other tours with Fleetwood Mac there was very short intro to Stand Back (like now). But only this time in 1990 it was really long and Stevie enjoyed it I think, like I do :).

There was some clip of Stand Back from show in Las Vegas in 1990 on YouTube... but it was cancelled... :( and on veoh.com there are some videos of Stand Back from this tour.

Well my first choice might be an obvious choice, but it's what started my undying love for Stevie: Silver Springs from The Dance. I remember the first time I saw this and when it was over I was crying and my jaw was open. I couldn't believe that they were basically yelling at each other in front of all of those people. It was just so personal and intense. I'll never forget it.
Secondly, the piano demo of Gypsy. I think the first time I heard this was right after my great grandmother died last October. I cried for what seemed like hours and just replayed it over and over. When I stopped playing it I felt somewhat healed. It was like Stevie was singing it to me and she understood what I was feeling. That song means so much to me.

I can think of a million perfect moments but this is one that caught me unexpectedly. It's HAEWAFY from Woodstock...the last stop on the Enchanted Tour. I know she often get's emotional while singing this song but there's something about this performance that I love...She is so grateful to be there even in the rain. The poor video quality and Stevie looking a hot mess just makes it even more real and special to me. I just want to run up and give her a big hug. Around 4:00 it when it get's juicy.

Our moms rule lol. The other day I was listening to WH in my room (on my new/old turn table!!!) and she came in and helped me hang some stuff up on my walls and was there the whole time the record played. And she sang all the words. I was impressed because I'm sure she hasn't heard WH in its entirety (minus blaring through my speakers) since she had it on vinyl 20 years ago.

This is utterly awesome! The high kicks, the booty shaking, the projectile tambourine are all perfect. However, it's missing perhaps my favorite part of the whole dance, which shall be one of my moments:

1. The little jig she does towards the end of Gold and Braid that's something of an homage to riverdancing! So very adorable!

2. This limo conversation just cracks me up! Poor smashed Christine can't get a word in edgewise and when everyone finally shuts up... she has nothing to say. And when Stevie starts ranting about Kay deLongpre (or some such) and Chris and Mick are like, "Here we go again." You can practically hear their eyes rolling.

Well I really love the US Festival version, but you can't freaking hear Stevie's vocals for most of it! Ugh. It's still great though. So, just so you know...this is impossible!!! These are just two of my favorite Stevie moments:

2 more 'Perfect Stevie' performances:
1. The way she holds the prolonged 'know' note at the end of 'Edge of 17' with such authority on her Soundstage dvd, it gives 'Edge' even more edge. I wish it had been on the cd. Other than the final 'snow' in Landslide, it's been a long time since she holds a note this long, and her voice is so raggedly gorgeous when she does it on a rock song, I hope she does it again.
2. Also perfect is the 1980 Fleetwood Mac live lp version of 'Sara', the way she ends the song, with the final word she sings being the title of the song, 'Sara', bending the 'uhhh' note and elevating it into the stratosphere. (or even if it was feedback or reverb that gives the effect, which as it plays now I don't think it was, it's still beautifully sung).

My two perfect Stevie moments:

1. 'Go Your Own Way', Rosebud, '76. I always loved the way she sang this one, especially her 'Only Another' line at the end of the song.

2. Rhiannon, Toyko, '77. 'Golden, Emerald, Satin!' Always, always, always loved her voice during this performance. It sounds kind of subdued, but still has that intensity that she still had in the '70's. I just loved the way she kind of screams those three words.

I love the HSML link to EO17. Not only the words, how still, but when she says "sometimes in the middle of the night, I still think about you," that reminds me of the How Still My Love lyrics as well, when she's singing that it's her that's talking to him in the still of the night.

I don't have a particular favorite live version of EO17, but I love the part where she says, "I know what it sounds like. I know what it sounds like." Then, I always anticipate the reprise after the Edge walk. When she returns to the mic and again: "I know what it sounds like!"

Okay, I'll bite...

I totally agree on that. The quintessential Stevie moment is the "Don't hide your face like this" sequence.

1. For me, "Angel" is perfection. Each and every version is different, but all are perfect in their own little flawed ways.

Okay, I've found 2 more while I was procrastinating from my essays...

1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2Rm-ElHcxk&feature=related
In the studio doing backing vocals and she keeps messing about and it's cute :)

2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XMtxENYulg
On Jimmy Fallon and she gives him a gift and makes a Freudian slip, haha!

hahaha...I just watched the Jimmy Fallon clip twice earlier today! She was so adorable.

That guy who did the video question, though...that had to be uncomfortable for her. He had posters of her or something right behind him...there's nothing wrong with it...I've got lots of Stevie stuff...but it must be weird for her to see herself posted on some random guy's wall like that

WHY IS SHE THE CUTEST PERSON TO EVER LIVE EVER? GAH it kills me. Blow your dream into the liaefadhejkl2!!!

Maybe I'm just getting this sappy and ridiculous because I'm still dying of sickness over here or something.... but seriously. Even the way he's like, "can I open it?" and she just nods. SO precious.

And I've always loved the clip of her working on Blue Lamp. Sigh.

Haha, I know.. It must have been a little awkward. "He's back in the old days". You'd think he'd realise it must look a bit weird.

No, seriously I know what you mean. She's so sweet. And I love how she just nods shyly at him then she's like "it's called, uh, the Dream Holder", and you know she just totally made it up on the spot.

PS. hope you feel better soon! :)

^Dani, I think the part where she just nodded instead of answering him is adorable. It reminded me of when she went on the tonight show in '94 and Jay was talking to her about her hair and she didn't say anything for the longest time and just looked intently at him. I love that part. There is a combined intensity and stillness that just radiates from her...she can say nothing and still command a room.

Anyway...Cal Jam anyone??? This never fails to make me happy!

My two obvious choices would be the Rosebud Rhiannon, and the Mirage Sisters Of The Moon. But since we're going for a little bit lesser known, here they go! :D

I think the performance of Landslide used for the Fleetwood Mac: Going Home documentary is perhaps Stevie's most beautiful vocal ever. Judging by the hair, I'd say it was from the 1978 leg of the Rumours tour. Stevie just had perfect control and pacing of her voice. The ending totally gives me chills every time. Here is a link to the vid, for those who aren't familiar with this performance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGQmUkVHemQ

A much more recent favorite is the performance of How Still My Love from Stevie's Soundstage. I don't think I've ever heard a slinkier, sexier rendition of this already steamy song. The extended ending with the shawl twirling are just butter to me. Love, love, love it!

Amen. I've been in a HSML phase lately and this performance comes up at least once a day on my computer. :)

I don't know why it took me so long to remember this, but Landslide from the Rock Hoppers LP. She nails the vocal, but the best part comes at the end: "That's a special song, but yer pretty special out there yourselves!"

Rhiannon was killer, too. Everything from that bootleg was perfect. It used to be on youtube, but it isn't there anymore. :(

So hard to decide but my favorite would be "Sisters of the Moon."

1. "Silver Springs" from The Dance. The way she interacted with Lindsey and you can see the electricity, the anger, the love, the hate and yes, maybe, even a bit of desire between them. haha I love the song.

2. "Angel" video and Stevie/Lindsey holding each other as they sing and I love the little ballet segment at the end. I love watching this video, it makes me laugh and smile just watching FM work their magic and Stevie's dancing:nod:

2 - Doing the Best I Can. theme song to my life and i use it as my motivation song

There are so many...too many to put into words but ONE stands out amongst the rest - June 20, 2004 - the night I met Stevie backstage after a SYW show in Irvine, CA. I wrote a synopsis of the entire encounter which I shall post at some point in the future.

There is something else. At all of the live shows I've attended (both Stevie and FM), I've been in the first 10 rows the majority of them if not standing directly in front of the stage. I do not take my eyes off Stevie for the entire show (unless of course she's off stage). It's as if no one or nothing else in the world exists (Lindsey? Who's Lindsey?). I actually prefer to go alone to shows because I am so transfixed and don't want to be bothered. It's as if I'm staring into her soul. It's such a high. There's nothing else like it.

No, this was when FM were on the AMA's, in 2004 I guess it was. Kimmel was the host.

This is hard to pick two but,

1. EOS, "the clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea changes color, but the sea does not change" This line has always hit me so hard, and it has to be the studio version. To me, her voice has never sounded better than with this line, and it really touches me.

2. Another is the Say You Will album, every Stevie song on there, especially Thrown Down is incredible to me. It could be because it was my first new album by FM, but hearing "you're not like other people, you do what you want to" has always made me want to burst into tears for some reason..and Illume also has that same effect. And I realize I am in the drastic minority for claiming Silver Girl to be one of my favorite Stevie songs, and FM songs in general. But the chorus to that song is amazing! "shadows move her face, you cannot see her soul, unless she lets you" I remember listening to that song back in 03 over & over, and even then my friends were like WTF?!
