I hear there's trouble is shangri-la...
This is the place to share your TISL tour stories. Did you get to see Stevie with Crow on this tour? Or maybe you were at the show where she lost her voice...or maybe your show was canceled because of 9/11.
Either way, please share your memories, anything you remember from those special nights.

I saw this show at LukeA's favorite venue, Allstate Arena (Rosemont Horizon), in July of 2001. I hadn't seen anybody FM related since the Enchanted tour in 1998. I liked the stage set up, and Sheryl Crow was a nice touch. She sang her own songs during Stevie's costume breaks.:p I liked that she did a lot of songs off the new album, but other than that I don't remember much, other than our seats sucked. Hopefully other people will relate more interesting experiences.

The show I saw was in Raleigh, N.C. and from what I remember the show had to be re-scheduled due to her bronchitis problem earlier. I had seen Stevie live over 12 times before this tour, and I was a huge fan, but this show was by far the worst I have ever seen. She was so uninspired thorough most of the show. I was so disappointed, and this was the last time I went to one of her solo shows. I do not know if she was not feeling well, but the only time she got into the show was during "Fall from Grace". She was nothing like I had seen before, even just a few years earlier on the Enchanted Tour. I really wanted to think this was a once off experience, but after seeing her on the Say You Will Tour she was not much more inspired. I guess I will have to keep my visions to myself, and remember the "good old days" of Stevie, like the Wild Heart Tour.:sorry:

Missed this tour completely. Had pretty good tickets for the Maryland Heights (where Crow was expected to appear) & Bonner Springs shows- both were canceled. Was going to fly down to Nashville for the Antioch show in late September, but ultimately didn't want to risk flight complications from another potential terrorist attack, as we were due to start school in Chicago in the coming days.
The Midwest got screwed over on this tour. With the occasional exception, this tour basically exclusively focused on the Eastern seaboard & California.

saw her in West Palm Beach during this tour. I took a fellow Stevie fan with me and we both had a blast. Was that really 8 years ago? Yikes! So, as is typical in southern Florida, a huge rainstorm blew in right before the show. We both got completely drenched but didn't care much. She mentioned the rain during her welcome speech. Nothing in the show really stands out but I do remember her voice sounding incredible. There was no Sheryl Crow on this date which suited me just fine!

Long story short, I know Dave Young. He was my 4th grade teacher. Before the October 1st show in Concord, CA, he told me that he would personally pass on anything I might have wanted to give her-- he suggested I put my own poetry within the package.
My mom and I had seventh row seats for the upcoming show and a few days beforehand, I gave Mr. Young some writing to hopefully pass on to Stevie. That night, he was backstage at the show. Apparently, he gave her my writing and letter before the show and she read it while backstage . He said that Sheryl Crow and Stevie sat down together and read through it and that Sheryl said that my story reminded her of her own early passion for Stevie. He then told her that I was towards the front and to keep a lookout for me during the show if I was to somehow get closer to the stage.
During Edge of Seventeen, I was able to get up there and shake Stevie's hand. When she finally got to me, she knew who I was. A security guard lifted me up a little higher on the stage so I could see more eye-to-eye with her as she took my hand within both of her own, leaned down to kiss me on the cheek and tell me, "thank you for coming Danielle!"
It was amazing.
When I went to school the next day, Mr. Young had a signed tour booklet ready for me with a personal note inside. If anyone had doubts about my devotion to Stevie, that series of events sealed me as a die hard fan for eternity. Her note was PRECIOUS.

I did fly to Michigan to see Stevie and Sheryl. The best thing about this tour was the fabulous blue gray shawl mama wore during Bombay Sapphires. She was really having some vocal/health issues.

Reading, PA
Stevie was the first show at the Sovereign Center here. It was also my first time in the front row of ANY show, let alone a Stevie tour.
Anyway, after the show we were SOO thirsty so we stopped to see if the restaurant next to the Reading Airport was still open... it wasn't. So, as we were leaving we drove past the small plane runway and we saw a white limo and I just yelled "PULL OVER!!!!!" - I just knew it was her!
I get out of the car and go up to the fence and saw a private jet and then saw a crowd of people in a small building to the right - just then, there she was, you could hardly see her b/c everyone else was so much taller. Long story short, we see her get on the plane and someone came over from her entourage and asked if we wanted anything signed. We only had our stubs so he brought them on the plane and had her sign them (personalized, too!) and we got to watch her plane take off.
It was Sept 18th, 2001, so she was off to Canada - the shows she did right before 9/11 happened...

Hmm. The TISL tour. Saw it in Hartford, 5th row- S. Crow, opened, and was good. I'm pretty certain that this tour 'Stop Draggin' opened the show, and, love her anyway, but SN sounded awful on the song- she improved over the night, but I recall the vocal on 'Stop Draggin' as very flat, and sung in too low of a key for what the band was playing. She was off. The whole crowd was standing, and when she came in with her vocal, it was like seeing thousands of shoulders slump down ('oh dear, this is how she's going to sound tonight')-- But she eventually came alive, vocally. Sometime after this tour, Stevie said she'd been having problems with her ear monitor for most of the tour, or some technical glitch, perhaps having to do with a new, digital soundboard (??) and it ruined the tour for her. (I'm paraphrasing, of course- she wasn't happy, but the 'ruined the tour' may be just my recollection of her kvetching about the sound problems).
I think she must have later heard some of the shows and likely was a bit 'oh dear' herself, about how she sounded. I did love 'Planets' that night, and 'Bombay Sapphires'- You know, since 'Planets' was more of a hit than anything on the TISL cd, (the maxi-single hit #1 on Billboard's Dance Sales Chart) I think it'd be much better to keep 'Planets' as a staple in her solo sets, rather than Sorcerer- of course, she never performed a dance remix version of it, but still, really loved 'Planets' live, it worked. Also recall the multiple 'make sure, make sure, make sure you survive' ending of 'FFG' and was majorly impressed by it. Also, almost positive she and Sheryl sang 'Too Far From Texas' that night, which I like anyway, so for new material, the tour was impressive. Wound up loving the show, but what a rough beginning. New songs performed: Sorcerer, Every Day, Planets of The Universe, Bombay Sapphires, Too Far From Texas, and Fall From Grace. I'd love to hear 'Candlebright' live, some day.

the thought of this tour makes me sad~ i was going no matter whether i had to buy my tix or was lucky enough to win some off our local classic radio station, where the DJ adores stevie~ the contest ran for a month & i was able to get a call in one day by answering what song they just played a brief like 3 sec clip of~ the prize?, 2 tix to the concert at then bonner springs~ i has seen her there during the 'enchanted' tour & it was a beautiful outside venue & i was so pumped to have won the tix~
the names of those winners all month of the 2 tix were kept & were asked to be listening at a certain time one morning & the first to answer a trivia question, had their tix upgraded to front row & was to get a meet & greet w/ stevie~ the answer to the question, which i can't remember exactly how it was worded, but the answer was that stevie played in fritz~ i was the ony who knew it & i won!!!~ i cried it was so surreal at the thought of finally being able to speak w/ stevie, even if only for a moment~
but right before the show, she cancelled, they said due to an ankle injury~ & i was crushed beyond belief~ the show wasn't rescheduled either:distress:~

Way to leave us hanging!
So when I decided to go to Vegas to see her and we decided to take another painting out for her. This one wasn't a special commission but the artist had it for sale and as she was called Rhiannon we felt it was meant to be. Our first vegas shows were postponed when Stevie got sick and then 9/11 happened so I started to wonder if the trip was doomed! And we were literally just going for a weekend to see the shows. From the UK. We even made t-shirts that said 'UK to Vegas on a weekend to see Stevie Rockalittle'...lol. Once in Vegas we managed to speak to the right people about getting it to Stevie. We waited backstage after the show and when Stevie came out she spoke to a couple of people and headed to the limo. I thought it wasn't going to happen but then Lori (Nicks) asked me if she had seen us yet and we were ushered round to the side of the limo to talk to her through the window. We gave her the painting , chatted for a few mins and then she signed our tourbooks (along with Sheryl Crow) and then she was gone!

Well, just for a little 'dissent' with no unkindness meant to you, or anyone, personally. I don't mean to sound judgemental... Read this as "hypothetically"
Hypothetically, I think it's lovely to give someone, anyone, a gift of a beautiful painting.
But, hypothetically, I think it is a severe lapse in ...uh.... judgement.... to gift someone, anyone, with a gift of a painting of a tarot card. It is presuming too much about another persons spirituality and is just overstepping boundaries that just are not a respectful gift-giver's decision to overstep.
I'm saying this, hypothetically, if those were actually paintings of tarot cards, and it's been 20 years since I've seen them, read them (yes), or had them read to me- but now, if I saw a tarot card, I'd throw it out. If given one, I'd be afraid to see that person ever again, no matter how kind the person might be. It's an energy I wouldn't want someone to assume I'd want to have in my life. It's like saying "I know you're into this, or I know you'll be kewl with this" and I think that's one, uh, hell of an assumption to make. Creepy, hypothetically.
Yet, I understand the intention initially for giving the gift was likely one of kindness and generosity.

They are not paintings of Tarot cards. I'm not sure why you assume they are?
They were commissioned with Stevie in mind and the artist who painted them has a particular style. Part of that is to border all her paintings like that.

I'm glad to be wrong, GypsyRhiannon. It was something written on the back of one of the scans (the inscription up near the A) and I suppose, other elements of the design, that reminded me of the tarot. I wasn't sure, actually. It's been many years.
I'm sure you went to a lot of expense and trouble to give a beautiful gift. I'm glad it made you happy to give it, and, truly, it's what you think that matters. My radar was off. Sorry!

The inscription up near the A is actually the welsh translation of the text
And to be honest with you..this was something that was done close to 10 years ago. I'm not sure I would do anything like this now as I'm sure Stevie receives so many things and at the end of the day they come from strangers. I've seen first hand a celeb friend being given all sorts of random gifts and she can't possibly keep them all and often hands them out to anyone who wants them

:oThis is a snippet from my old Nicksfix review of the opening night of Stevie's TISL tour in Pittsburgh!!!
Now, I don't know if anyone in the past has saw a Stevie tambourine, with her Bella Donna pose made by Johanna Pieterman on the Nicksfix. Well, that tambourine was mine....the first one of it's kind made actually! :o) I had longed plan to take it to her concert and have Stevie sign it....but I really had no idea how to, unless I got backstage. But, never the less, I took the tambourine with me, hoping for the best. A friend of mine, Lisa, and I waited out front of the VIP door to the VIP tents. My friend, being more outgoing then I, ran up to everyone walking through those doors, asking if somehow they could get Stevie to sign my tamb. We had no such luck until I looked to the door and Stevie's awesome percussionist, Lenny Castro, came walking out wearing a Enchanted Tour T-shirt! I said, " Oh My God, that's Lenny Castro!" Sure enough, Lisa runs over to him, talks to him a few moments and he comes over to us. I explain to him about the tambourine and how I would love Stevie to sign it. He said, " Stevie really doesn't like to be disturbed before the show." Seeing the disappointment in my eyes, he then says, " How about this, I'll take it back to her, she may sign it before or after the show. But either way, I will get it back to you signed!" I almost flipped out! I was shaking.... I said thank you so much and continued to chat with him. He asked me where I got the tambourine, and me not knowing what he was talking about said, Johanna.... he was like, " no, I mean, the TAMBOURINE, I'm a percussionist and this is a great tambourine!" LOL he was such a great guy...so, he took the tambourine and I went back to my seat. Oh yeah, I also saw Waddy stick he head out the VIP door!!!! Still looks the same!
About 15 mintues later, I see Lenny talking around, searching for me, with my tambourine! I go chasing after him, finally stop him and he hands me the tambourine, saying "Stevie was flipping out, she loved the tambourine!" I hugged him twice and shook his hand! He was genuinly pleased that I was so happy. She signed it, " To Erica...Love, Stevie Nicks"! Can you believe it.

I'm always surprised by the people who give her expensive jewelery. To spend that kind of money for something she'll either never wear or give away, yikes!
