Well,
I was at the Nicksfix few minutes ago and just read Lori's note to the fans...I didn't know that Stevie's brother, Christopher, had cancer and I can't remember that Stevie ever had posted a short note on her website about it.
I know that this is very private and I can understand when someone wants to keep this private. I'm currently dealing (again) with cancer in my family and I know how horrible this disease is....
...but wouldn't it have been nice when we would have known about it and could have gotten the chance to send messages to Christopher DURING his bad days??
Or did I miss something?

I believe Stevie mentioned it at one of the shows in California during her Landslide dedication. She dedicated it to: "My brother, Christopher who is being very brave right now."
By the way, I wouldn't be surprised by the Nicksfix, rockalittle, whatever it's called now not being updated. It's a rare occurrence, right. Plus, I'm sure Stevie and her family want all the privacy they can get. Maybe Chris didn't want it plastered everywhere...

I first heard it when someone here reported back from the book signing. Stevie said it there and a fan passed it on. Michele

I heard about that too. I prayed for him when I heard and had this friend of mine from church pray for him too one morning. I certainly hope that he gets well and beats this thing. Have no idea what stage he's in or anything, but I've had family members with cancer too.

Didn't know where to post it so I posted it here
Note from Lori - October 28, 2009:
"I would like to post a note here to all of our fans:
I'm sorry that I haven't been in touch for a long time. I've been very busy with the FleetwoodMac tour, and during the first half of the year, Stevie's brother, Christopher, was dealing with cancer, so my attentions have been taken away with some very intense matters. Some of your questions are over a year old... but none-the-less, appreciated and I will try to answer as many as I can. Thank you for your continued interest and caring! LL"
Sorry if this has already been posted here...

that fan was me! hehe. I was at the book signing and spoke to her about her music and how Has Anyone really meant a lot when i was going through losing my best friend of cancer. She looked up at me and said how old? I said he was 24...and she just shook her head and looked at me and said something like "cancer is killing too many people, and that is sooo young, my brother is currently battling it".

Well, at least Lori indicates that she has been busy helping Chris out. So, nice to think they are still close enough for that. I hope that this was sobering for Jessica and not too stressful for Barbara.
It's kind of funny, but my mother went through colon cancer in her sixties (and is great now, thankfully) and my grandmother (82 at the time) was by her side for that. No matter how old you are, having your parent with you is comforting and they never stop worrying about you, as if you were still a child.

Clearly (i.m.o.) if Stevie mentioned it she wanted it made more-or-less known to the fan community. She "leaked" it herself, I think.

Seems to me that Stevie has mentioned a few times in the past that she believes in the power of prayer. Maybe that's what she had in
mind, that fans would pray for him. By the way, if you take a second look at Lori's statement, it's talking about his cancer in the
"past tense" - I know it can come back sometimes, but maybe he's out of the woods. :)

The prognosis is better the sooner they catch those things. They must have caught it early in his case. I'll just hope and pray that it stays away for good.

yes, it was mentioned to me by a friend that was formerly the primary fundraiser for the new wing for the Arizona Heart Foundation. I had actually forgotten about it...I believe he is doing ok....

Chris had bladder cancer. He went to City of Hope for treatment (the same place Robin was treated) and he is fine now....hopefully he will remain cancer free.
