Brand New Competition- Album to Album Points for Rankings- Bella Donna

[Musicman408]

I don't know if we've done a competition this comprehensive, by each ranking the entire album, each song earning a set amount of points depending on where said person ranks them. If this makes no sense, I will explain.

For each round (a round covers an entire album) we will rank the songs, from our favorite (1st) through last (anywhere from 10th to 13th. Based on where we rank the songs, they get a set amount of points based off of this points system.

1st- 50
2nd- 45
3rd- 40
4th- 35
5th- 30
6th- 27
7th- 24
8th- 21
9th- 18
10th- 15
11th- 12
12th- 9
13th- 6

I'll start us off, putting the songs from Bella Donna in order of my preference, with the points beside them. Then the next person will rank however they wish, and add their points to the ones from what I said. So let's say I rank the song "The Highwayman" 1st, that song now has 50 points. Then the next person ranks that song 7th. After the first two votes, that song has 74 points. And, if you can do the math, please post the new total by your choices. It goes on and on until the poll closes. Make sense?

I thought this would be a cool new in depth competition!!!

I'll start us off:

1. Outside the Rain- 50
2. How Still My Love- 45
3. Bella Donna- 40
4. Kind of Woman- 35
5. After the Glitter Fades- 30
6. Edge of Seventeen- 27
7. Think About It- 24
8. The Highwayman- 21
9. Stop Draggin My Heart Around- 18
10. Leather and Lace- 15

So, hoping this makes sense, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this works!!! So as of right now, Outside the Rain is the points leader!!

[Musicman408]

Just realized I accidentally put this in the wrong forum!! Mods, it should be in the Stevie forum, as I'm sure you can tell! :)

ha ha ha- that is possible!!!

I guess if nobody was going to do it, I would have done the math myself, but it everyone just does it themselves, it won't be that big of a deal!

PS: Why hasn't this been moved to the Stevie section yet?

Haha amen to that, Vivfox!

Ethan, couldn't you have given us some smaller numbers to work with? I can't do all this math... it just makes me frustrated.
No no, I'm just giving you a hard time. ;) It's a great idea and I'll do it in the morning when I'm more awake!

Thanks guys!!!

The reason for the complicated points system is that with this system, we are really able to see how people view EACH of these songs. On a lot of these competitions, however fun they are, we normally pick a favorite, or pick a least favorite, which oftentimes doesn't really produce any sort or ranking, IR- which song really is the 2nd most popular on the album and whatnot. THAT is why I came up with this somewhat complicated points system because you are not only able to see literally the ranking of the album, but how much more popular the songs really are. We can tell that so far from the voting, there are really 3 STRONGLY popular songs!

Glad everyone is enjoying the game. On the albums that have 10 songs, we're going to have the top 2 move to the all star round (after we do all the albums), and the ones with more than 10 will have the top 3!
