Thanks for the invite David. And everyone else too who is staying in Wembley it would be great for all of us to meet if we can.
I may even be able to drive us all to the restaurant if I'm passing through the area. However, if I'm already in central London we could just arrange to meet at the restaurant.
If anyone wants my contact number, just pm me. David, I've already sent it to you.
Looking forward to it!:)
i'll be there. SECC was incredible, hoping Wembley will be just as good.

I agree-it's a fabulous hotel and it's only ~6 miles to Wembley. It's not at all far although London traffic can make for a long journey. It can easily take over an hour by car during peak travel and probably about the same via the tube (depending on changes, station closures, tube delays, etc). Still, it's not far...just allow plenty of 'buffer' time.

The easiest way is by underground train (the tube). You need either the Jubilee line or the Metropolitan line. You get off at Wembley park station and it's all signposted to the arena which is a few minutes walk away from the station. Just follow the crowd!

Is someone co-ordinating a meeting of all Ledgies on Friday?
I'd certainly like to meet whoever I can.
Unfortunately I missed dinner with David today as I didn't have his number so couldn't tell him I was running late. He'd already left. (I did have a good excuse - I was at the premiere of the new film about John Lennon called Nowhere Boy. It's amazing! All Beatles fans should see it when it comes out.)
Anyway, back to the meeting on Friday - I'm hoping to meet Gypsy Rhiannon and David, so hopefully others will join us too?

If anyone is travelling by tube train to wembley from central London on Saturday both the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines are suspended most of the way. The best alternative is to take the Bakerloo line to Wembley central and either walk up the hill or get a bus to the arena.

Twenty years ago, when my peers were having their parents' record collections enforced on them, I was receiving a rather more limited musical education (Paul Simon's Graceland and the soundtrack to Cats were the only albums my folks ever played, and even then on inexplicably long car journeys to a rainy French campsite). For this reason, I never received the inevitable schooling in Fleetwood Mac and their gazillion-selling Rumours album. Of course, you can run (into the shadows) but you can't hide. And by the time I hit my mid-20s, I surrendered to the Mac attack, especially the bizarre arrangements that make up their 1979 double LP Tusk. I think getting into them so late, when the first signs of complex, tangled, depressingly-adult problems were weaving their way into my life, helped me fall in love with them all the more. I ended up claiming them as my own, rather than as some guilty pleasure. Tonight, they play Wembley Arena.

Christine was in the audience for Mick Fleetwoods Blues Band concert in Canterbury this year. I spotted her arrive at the theatre whilst the Support band were on. I went outside the theatre for some air as it was stuffy in side. It was kind of dark outside but I noticed this woman pass by the front entrance. It was Chris, but before I realised who it was she went in the stage door. I met her on the way out after the show. I dashed outside quickly as soon as Mick bashed the last drum of the night. I seemed to be one of the first people to exit. I was very lucky to meet Christine as she was about to leave in a car. I ran over to the car and just asked if I could have an autograph. She said sure if your quick as she wants to leave before the crowds start exiting the theatre. I wasn't really ready as my albums were in my bag and my pen somewhere in there also! I scrambled about in there trying to find the pen! She was very warm, kind and patient with me. I was the only one that seemd to recognise her!? Eventually got my self sorted and she signed 2 albums and said Thanks to me and I gave her a hug and peck on the cheek. She was lovely and sweet. A VERY special moment. After that she was gone before anyone else noticed who it was. I was on a high from that meeting and then I went inside the theatre to meet Mick. He is just the nicest person ever. Again. so patient with everybody. A true gentleman.

One brief review:
Fleetwood Mac, Wembley Arena 30 Oct 2009
I was just a little tinker when Fleetwood Mac were notching up chart success in the late 1970s and early 80s when my parents were listening to the ‘Rumours‘ album.
But having obviously passed their good taste down to me, by the time I was 10 years old I was listening to ‘Albatross‘ and ‘Dreams‘ on my then industrial size Sony walkman whilst everyone else at school was being fed on a diet of Wham!
I’ve always liked The Mac, favourites being ‘Sara‘ and ‘Gypsy’ which sometimes transport me away from the hustle and bustle of a busy tube into my own little bohemian world, through the hypnotising vocals of Stevie Nicks.
And hypnotise she did tonight, as they performed at London’s Wembley Arena on their ‘Unleashed Tour’ which coincides with the recent release of their Greatest Hits album currently at No 6 in the UK Album Chart, although the band say new music is planned soon.
The Mac, who once comprised of five members until Christine McVie left in 1998 are now four, made up of Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Lindsay Buckingham and are back on the road for the first time in six years.
Having never seen them live before, tonight’s show was a crowd pleaser with old favourites such as ‘Rhiannon‘, ‘Big Love’, ‘The Chain’ and ‘Gypsy’ as well as a drum-based Tusk’ and ’Dreams‘ which made you just want to float off in the arena! Mick Fleetwood introduced ‘Second Hand News’ from the legendary ’Rumours’ album which I admit went over my head a bit..but luckily they drew me and most of the crowd who weren’t over 60 back in again with ‘Don’t Stop’..a foot tapping favourite for some in the crowd unlike my row who were up and giving it some!
But my personal highlights tonight were seeing Stevie Nicks performing ‘Sara’ in those bewitching dulcet ones which left me spellbound and meeting the band before the show, where I asked Stevie and Mick Fleetwood what they thought of appealing to younger audiences..
” It’s amazing to see people who have followed us since the beginning and then you look across the audience and there’s a whole new wave of followers who’s Mum’s and Dad’s probably listened to us. And with bands like Bat for Lashes who say they’re inspired by our older stuff, they invite a younger listener to seek out our music and it goes from there. We love that we have younger fans like you and hope that they continue to follow us with new material in the future“.
The Mac rocked it tonight!

Last night in London was the most amazing concert experience I have had.
We had some luck in obtaining front row seats. There's nothing like watching 8,000 people fill up an arena behind you! But better news was yet to come as one of the road crew came out and asked us if we wouldn't mind standing for the show! So we positioned ourselves right on the stage - I was actually touching the stage's carpet! He said that they were happy for photographs to be taken, so I was very pleased with that.
The show itself was truly stunning with a performance to rival any band. We were standing on the Stevie's side of the stage and she was on great form. I have always been a fan of Lindsey's guitar playing, but he blew me away and when he came to our side of the stage for a long guitar solo, he stood right in front of me - his boots were 2 inches away from my hand!
This is the 4th time I have seen Fleetwood Mac and it's by far the best performance I have seen - the choice of songs was brilliant and the sound impressive. The strange thing about being at the very front of the audience is that you don't really hear the main crowd and get the atmosphere, so this was very much about watching the band from close quarters and enjoying the professionalism and performance.
A night to remember. I hope you like these pictures...

it pains me to say this, because I am a Scot, and I am hugely proud of how good Scottish crowds are, but this gig was 10 times better than the SECC.
Having not seen the band before, I thought perhaps Glasgow last week was the norm for a FM crowd, but Wembley last night took it up quite a notch.
The band looked like they were absolutely loving it and some of the reactions to the songs was immense.
I'm still buzzing now (or could that be the hangover?!).
Just incredible.
Please god someone have a bootleg of this concert - I could relive it again and again.
I took a friend of mine as close to the front of the arena as I could get for GYOW, about 8 rows back. I was taking pictures of Lindsey when she just pointed at the seating section over my shoulder. The place was going CRAZY. Every man woman and child was on their feet jumping around. I've been to see hundreds of bands at the 02 and Wembley and that was as good as I have seen.

it's halloween, hope FM have some special treats for us tonite !!
talking about last night, enough has been said, they rocked.... i have not seen it mentioned, but one small observation...
at the close of the show, when mick 'introduces' everyone to the audience, i have noticed that in antrwerp, rotterdam, and paris that he introduced
STEPHANIE NICKS.... last night, as he was getting to mama's introduction i saw her mouth 'STEVIE' to him, and lo and behold he introduced STEVIE NICKS
just a bit of trivia.......

at the close of the show, when mick 'introduces' everyone to the audience, i have noticed that in antrwerp, rotterdam, and paris that he introduced
STEPHANIE NICKS.... last night, as he was getting to mama's introduction i saw her mouth 'STEVIE' to him, and lo and behold he introduced STEVIE NICKS
just a bit of trivia.......
Thanks for the info - isn't that weird? I mean, hasn't Mick been doing that like forever? It's just now bothering her?!
Stephanie..."Stevie"...all the same...all the same.

He did that when I saw them here in the states, but I've also sensed from watching vids of that part of the show, that she's not too fond of him doing that, so her mouthing "Stevie" sorta confirms it.. I guess. I'm pretty sure he does it on the "Live in Boston" DVD as well. Haven't watched it in awhile. Not that she doesn't like her name, it's just that she's always been known in the music world, as 'Stevie Nicks'. (jmo) I love the name Stephanie, and always have.. long before I knew who she was. I do think the name, Stevie, is cute though.

I'd ignore her if I was him. That's the name your dad wanted, so just grin and bear it. Maybe she thought Mick forgot her name all together and wanted to make sure he didn't call her "Wanda."

I love that always changing of Stand Back. It´s really nice to see that Stevie can change it still, and everytime I hear the new "version" I think it´s better than the last one :D.
Bad view, but good sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtiB9ywCksY
I don´t know why, but perforamnces of Stand Back was always better with Fleetwood Mac than her solo. I think she puts lot more into it when she is with FM...
And the Unleashed versionS are great, I can´t say best to compare with all those tours since 1983, that can´t be compared. But it´s really awesome, it´s not that 80s disco or pop song (which I love too) but it´s great quick rock song, and I like that too very much. At least to compare with all those shows during tours since 2005 to 2008 it´s definitely best. I really thought that she will not change that... but she did :D. Thanks Stevie. Nice to know that you are still making something new.
It´s interesting, because I didn´t mention any changes of all other songs in Unleashed setlist during tour. But this song changed few times.

I was at the concert last night; my first ever Mac show.
I thought it was beyond awesome! I loved every minute. Having seen so many comments on here about Stevie not singing well at certain shows and looking unhappy I was ready to be disappointed by her and to have my dreams shattered a little.
But she was magical! She looked beautiful, radiant even. She sang very well and looked delighted to be there on stage. She interacted with the audience with good humour and was in turns flirty, fun and gracious.
She hypnotized me many years ago when I was a little schoolgirl and I'm so glad she didn't let me down last night.
Yes, Stevie still rocks!
What can I say about Lindsey that hasn't been said already. He is indeed a guitar god, Fleetwood mac's genius and maestro as Mick says at the end. He dominated the show from start to finish and deserves all the accolades he is getting.
Mick and John - watching them last night I fell in love with both!
I've seen some big gigs this year featuring many a megastar. This was, without question, the very BEST.
I'm debating whether I should go next Friday - I'd love to, I'm just afraid it might not be as perfect next time.
And, my added bonus was that I met Ledge legend David Mn. Truly a legend!
Also the lovely Gypsy Rhiannon and wonderful Tommer. Thanks guys for making a special evening even better!

Just to add it was a truly amazing show last night. Stevie dedicated Landslide to someone in the audience who is one of her favourite designers (I forget the name) and then said she was the reason she had the boots on that night (she had maroon ones on at the time). SHe also had a black pair on for a while as well as the cute ankle boots.

I've seen Peter Green in concert twice, but this (the 30th) was my first Fleetwood Mac concert. I'm still buzzing!
Many details I'd want to mention, and one of them is a simple question. The group sometimes seemed to give extra attention to the crowd just on their right. It made me wonder if there was somebody there that they knew. Did anyone else notice this, or was it just my imagination?

So I just thought I'd add some notes about tonight's show. It was a great show but definitely not as good or energetic as last night's. I did, however, think Stevie and Lindsey seemed friendlier with each other tonight.
Stevie forgot some of her introduction to Gypsy and even said, "I'm forgetting everything tonight". She also didn't put on her red boots, I guess they only come out for the British designer (whose name I didn't catch) from the first night. She dedicated Landslide to another Brit though, the singer KT Tunstall.
Someone at the front was throwing condoms (in their packets I must stress) at Lindsey for some reason. He laughed it off but asked them to stop doing it because he said he might slip on them. "I guess it's well intentioned" he said, but I got the impression he was a bit peeved by it.
During Go Your Own Way a bunch of the crew at the side of the stage donned wigs and red noses (I guess because it's Halloween) and lined up, linked arms and danced to the song, so when Stevie turned around she saw them. She laughed and seemed to get a kick out of it.
She seemed to be having trouble with her ear thingie all night though and kept mouthing and shaking her head to someone to the side of the stage. They eventually came to fix it but I think it wasn't working properly all night.
Also, despite Stevie mouthing "Stevie" to Mick last night, he introduced her as Stephanie tonight. There was also a nice moment after her bow where she walked over to John and reached out for his hand. I don't know if she does this often, but she definitely didn't do it the first night and it seemed sweet.
Finally, the security was a lot stricter this time, only allowing those who were front row to go down the front. Even the Mac crew were enforcing it, this time. There was definitely less people at the stage. I guess maybe Wembley were unhappy about the amount of people standing last night. I also thought the audience were less enthusiastic, I was in the fourth row and everybody in front of us were sitting, but the good thing about that was I had an amazing, perfect view because of it. And on top of that we finally did manage to sneak up to the front near Stevie, so I had the best of both worlds during the concert really.

I dug the red too, especially the first 4 or 5 months. After a while he seemed to be wearing it to the ground and I was absolutely thrilled when he broke out that gray suit in Columbus- even if I was one of three people who seemed to adore it so. Now I'm far more receptive to the blue, even if wanted to wear it forever (and he probably will for near enough) because it's totally his color imo.
Dang I rambled over this issue a little much...see what a Lindsey girl I am? lol!

That hug is so very sweet and from what I can see looks so sincere. I think some of that other stuff from the previous leg was sincere in parts, and part highfalutin act.

So I just thought I'd add some notes about tonight's show. It was a great show but definitely not as good or energetic as last night's. I did, however, think Stevie and Lindsey seemed friendlier with each other tonight.
Hey Sharon, glad you had a great time, the view from the balcony was pretty good, plus we had no obstructions and the large screen was positioned just right. Thought the show was good, not fab, just good, Lindsey was immense as always, however something (in my mind) was lacking, maybe it was same oh, I really enjoyed the SYW tour (six nights, so I must of) and I think it was because of the new tracks that were played, especially Say Goodbye and bringing out Beautiful Child, this time is was pretty much old territory and even Storms and Sara were only OK, nice to see IKINW and the electric Go Insane, however I will not be going next Fri (unless front row pops up). On a positive note, Ellie really enjoyed, her first proper rock concert, said it was too loud, but that's what rock concerts are about.....
Looking forward to the BBC doc tonight and hopefully another tour with new tunes, I really want Lindsey, Stevie and all to do NEW things and not be a lounge act (Lindsey's words), maybe next time...........
Oh and lastly, note to Fleetwood Mac's management, don't play Wembley again, it's horrible, much preferred Earls Court and at least Earls Court is easy to get to on the crap transport system that we call the tube, 75% on the lines serving Wembley were closed due to engineering works!!

I googled her:
http://www.grahamkolbeins.com/writing/luella.html
What were some of your earliest fashion inspirations? What was it that sparked your interest in designing?
I remember my mum floating around in Chinese dressing gowns and bright red crimped hair as a child—very Stevie Nicks. My mum would hate me for that, but I always thought she looked very exotic and ethereal, and I loved it. I also remember pictures of my greatgranny looking very proper and aristocratic on horseback, and thinking how beautiful she looked. But it wasn’t really about fashion then. I got into fashion quite late on. I was a really uncool teenager, so maybe I’m trying to make up for lost time.

Someone at the front was throwing condoms (in their packets I must stress) at Lindsey for some reason. He laughed it off but asked them to stop doing it because he said he might slip on them. "I guess it's well intentioned" he said, but I got the impression he was a bit peeved by it.
I really hate to hear that, but it sounds like he handled it very tactfully.
So now we wait to see if night 3 be more like the first night or the second.

Another cool thing in this vid - Stevie removes the glove on her left hand at 2:44-45 and throws it on the drum riser. LOL.
Here's GYOW - I just love the circle walk SnL do at the end (5:18) - reminds me of the current logo they're using where the O's in Fleetwood are entwined:

So I really like Sara a lot more on this tour than SYW...not that I didn't love it on SYW but I like how Stevie is singing it MUCH better this time around. It sounds much softer and less strained/yelled. She seems a lot more confident performing this song now. I like how she speaks the "it always matters what for" part, as she did back on the '81 tour. I also like the "wind became so crazy" line. Very powerful. It would be nice if she busted out the original red Sara cloak just once :D

Thanks for clarifying that because I was wondering what it was and where she got it from. It looked to me like she pulled it off of the mic stand and threw it on the drum riser.

I am so mad that I don't live in Europe right now. Ugh.
Beautiful pictures, everyone! They're amazing. Everybody looks and sounds great. That is now my official favorite version of Sara. (From this tour atleast!) It's so sweet! I LOVE Stevie has to stand on her tiptoes even in her platform boots to sing into Lindsey's mic. It's a dorable! And the little hug there, that's a great angle! That didn't look very fake to me. Just sayin'.

No, of course it's genuine. Trust me if they didn't want to they wouldn't do it - and everyone who saw/read about Stevie's outbursts on the SYW tour can certainly vouche for that. Just sayin'...
I do feel as though I was a bit cheated though. They seem to be a lot looser now and Stevie especially is moving around better and more and they are doing more change ups with the songs than they did over here. Europe is lucky!

They deserve it. FM tours in the states way more than over there. They will be lucky to see them on the next tour, especially the girl in Sweden. I think it is so cool how all of us get to see the videos from pretty much every show they've done on this tour.

Yeah, I agree - it's just that this was my first time ever seeing them...
But, speaking of the youtube phenom - what I've been astounded by since "discovering" them is how much footage, demos, boots there is available. I feel like I didn't really miss anything - I've been able to see stuff from every era pretty much. It's astounding to me. Has this always existed? And, is this just specific to the rock genre?

I dug the red too, especially the first 4 or 5 months. After a while he seemed to be wearing it to the ground and I was absolutely thrilled when he broke out that gray suit in Columbus- even if I was one of three people who seemed to adore it so. Now I'm far more receptive to the blue, even if wanted to wear it forever (and he probably will for near enough) because it's totally his color imo.
Dang I rambled over this issue a little much...see what a Lindsey girl I am? lol!
I agree that Lindsey and the color blue completely go together!

The condom was thrown on stage by the Spanish contingent (who kept asking Lindsey to come to Barcelona) after Stevie winked at Lindsey during the "Ask me and I'll be there" line in "Sara." It was either perfect timing or perhaps an inference about what goes on backstage...

I wonder if it might have been Christine?
Since she was at Earls Court in 2003 I thought she might be in the audience this time too. But that would hardly have gone unnoticed, so I was probably just wrong. It could have been somebody else too (Luella Bartley, KT Tunstall?). The last time I was at Wembley somebody famous sat in about the same spot, that might have misled me.
When I told one of my friends about the concert yesterday he remembered they're a blues-rock band, and that he has their red greatest hits album. But the later success had passed him by, and he was completely surprised they could be at such a big place now. Some old people can be so ignorant!
For me it was so funny to compare Lindsey's and Peter Green's guitar playing at the concerts I've been to. Green was bad the first time, and really bad the second. But he agreed with that in his auto-biography afterwards. Blaming the nerves he felt when playing for paying audiences. He's famous as a guitar hero, but Lindsey isn't. Still, Lindsey's guitar work is amazing. It's just overshadowed by other things. Green has had those things too, but never seemed to escape the guitar hero image. It's remarkable how those things work out.
It's almost a third of a century since I first became aware of this group - when I taped "Blue Letter" off the radio in May -77. I feel blessed to have seen them now. A memory I will treasure forever.

I was referring more to Stevie than Lindsey - she was turned around in LIB. Here she was actually sort of dancing as opposed to her little pose they were doing in front of Mick's kit for SYW.
Anyway, I think if I'm lip-reading right she says to him in this video (right near the end), "Ok, rock on."

I feel the same way about some of these Wembley vids and Stevie. She looks to be having a lot more fun and there's some real energy coming from her, as opposed to the standing and singing and some hand gestures thing. It's cute because it makes LB and her look so tuned into each other when they're energized, like on The Dance.

Evening Standard didn't have any surprises in their review (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/music/review-23763324-fleetwood-mac-stick-to-what-they-do-best.do), but a fair conclusion:
... they still love these songs as much as the rest of us.
And together we helped to breathe life into them. Nothing more is actually needed in this case.

Fleetwood Mac stick to what they do best
By David Smyth, Evening Standard 02.11.09
How heartwarming it is when a band of a certain vintage recognises that another new album would be about as welcome as rheumatism and heads out to play everyone’s favourite songs with no ulterior motive.
“This time we said: ‘Let’s just go out and have fun,’” claimed guitarist Lindsey Buckingham as Fleetwood Mac’s Unleashed tour arrived in London for the first of three arena shows. There have been rumours of a new album and even of Sheryl Crow taking the place of the long-departed Christine McVie but perhaps they got bored waiting for inspiration and decided to remind themselves of their many finest moments.
With a set drawn largely from the classic Seventies album trilogy of Fleetwood Mac, Rumours and Tusk, there could be few complaints about song choices. Other bases were briefly covered with a solo composition each for Buckingham and co-vocalist Stevie Nicks, a nod to the band’s early hard-blues incarnation with Peter Green’s stormy Oh Well and even a gibbering Mick Fleetwood drum solo.
But the music that dominated was that written by Buckingham and Nicks when they were in the middle of an agonising relationship break-up. Dreams, Second Hand News and Go Your Own Way all summoned glorious melodies from a painful place.
Here the ex-couple arrived on stage arm in arm and embraced after Nicks had finished her ballad Sara. In his sixties, Buckingham has become more of a rock singer than he was, often barking his lines and offering a finger-bruising solo interpretation of Big Love.
Nicks remained instantly recognisable in floaty outfits that were only missing a maypole. In black here, if she had appeared on your doorstep this weekend you would have handed over all your sweets quick for fear of being egged. That reedy voice, though, remains a thing of witchcraft.
With Rumours still high on the list of the biggest-selling albums ever, the band can’t be journeying the globe again just for the money.
Furious drawn-out versions of Gold Dust Woman and World Turning demonstrated an undimmed passion for playing and suggested a simple truth: they still love these songs as much as the rest of us.

I wouldn't call that version of World Turning "furious."

Fleetwood Mac @ Wembley Arena Nov 02, 2009
The debate surrounding whether the legendary big bands from yesteryear should continually reunite, rehearse and play shows - a few extra wrinkles visible with each comeback jaunt - rages on. Everyone has an opinion on damaged legacies, damaged voices and whatever else, but one overriding fact remains: people still want to hear the songs, buy the tickets and fill the arenas. And, let’s be honest, there are some bands for whom many would do unspeakable things to see back on stage (Led Zeppelin, anyone?)
Fleetwood Mac, finally back at Wembley Arena, are one such group who have the timeless songs and the millions of loyal fans that still clamber for them as if they were touring a debut record. And the tracks sound, almost, as good as they always did.
They hit the home runs early: 'The Chain', probably the best and most iconic thing that Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and co ever recorded, warmed everybody up, before 'Dreams' teleported the crowd back to 1977. Indeed, a sentimental trip down memory lane with Nicks, to humble beginnings in San Francisco – "back to the way we were" - preceded 'Gypsy' and had the audience thinking about digging out their 'Rumours' LPs and 70s party gear for Halloween.
Nicks' instantly recognisable voice is still in fine condition, as are Buckingham's fingers. As well as a solo acoustic version of 80s single, 'Big Love', some instrumental highlights from the just-turned-60-year-old showed that, despite its mammoth pop success, Fleetwood Mac are a rock band at heart . As well as the savage guitar playing, there was some tenderness, too. Moments before, the former lovers had shared an emotional embrace that will long live in the memory.
The age demographic of the audience at this show spoke volumes about how great – truly great - music transcends and has the ability to touch anybody willing to listen. From the golden oldies who were there at the time, to the teenagers looking to reconnect to the music they listened to in their parents' car as a kid; everyone was enthusiastically enjoying themselves.
The high point of the night (along with a rarely played, but gorgeous, 'I Have Always Been A Storm') was an elongated version of 'Go Your Own Way', which produced a huge reaction and mass sing-along from the sell-out crowd, Buckingham bending down to allow those in the front row to get their hands on his guitar.
Aside from the absence of the Christine McVie-penned, 'Little Lies', and co-founder Mick Fleetwood briefly seeming to lose his mind during a customary drum solo, it was a rousing performance from one of the biggest-selling acts of all time.
This night, climaxing with the classic, 'Don’t Stop', and this tour, has been a hugely successful reunion for a band whose career has been an emotional rollercoaster. There seems to be a new appreciation, both for the music that made them great, but, more importantly, for each other. And long may that continue.

From wha I hear Tommer and DavidMN managed to get to the front again. Tommer said they just hung out down there as if they were meant to be there
Thanks Pip, that's good to know although I think they might have been lucky. The security guards where I was wouldn't let anyone up without checking their tickets before and at the start of the show (I saw numerous people pissed off for being turned away), on instruction from that guy from FM's crew who was talking to you the other night. We had an amazing view where we were anyway, so it didn't matter too much and then eventually we managed to sneak up to the front, so it was cool.
Are you going to next Friday's London show? Your photos are fantastic, btw!

I'm not sure to be honest, it did look like more than the front row, in fact there were a bunch of people on the sides of the front row who remained sitting throughout yet there was still a big crowd in front of the stage. It's worth trying it, all they can do is send you back to your seat. And yep, I'll be there!

It will be interesting to see if they so Silver Springs tonight in Sheffield. I'm sure they won't in Birmingham tomorrow, but Im thinking since its only been 1 day off since London they wont tonight either. We'el have to see. I think with what that song seems to do to her voice and how it's been intermittently done on this leg, it may be time to consider permanently dropping it. I wonder what if any song might replace it? any thoughts?

I think The Mac should have retired SS after The Dance. Those performances are unbeatable, in terms of both vocal ability and sheer passion. The fact that this song is not performed every night is proof that the old girl can no longer do it justice, or do it at all for that matter.

Awww, I find that a little mean towards the old girl. they usually don't play it when the show started late, which has probably not much to do with Stevies vocal abilities.
And I really wouldn't want to see the Dance version of SS in concert, that was to private and raw for my taste.

Fleetwood Mac, Wembley Arena, London
By Ludovic Hunter-Tilney
Published: November 2 2009 23:17 | Last updated: November 2 2009 23:17
Expectations for a sedate night of heritage rock from a group of sexagenarians notorious for living well but unwisely were shattered as soon as Fleetwood Mac struck up “Monday Morning”. The 1975 track sounded vibrant and crisp, with Mick Fleetwood hammering his kit and Lindsey Buckingham giving some Springsteen-style welly to the vocal. The band were in implausibly good form.
The “Unleashed” world tour is their first get-together in five years. The songs mainly dated from the band’s 1970s heyday, when the Brit blues outfit founded by Fleetwood and John McVie in 1960s London morphed into Anglo-Californian soft-rockers with the addition of Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
It wasn’t quite the return of the full Rumours-era line-up: McVie’s keyboardist ex-wife Christine was missing, having quit touring in the 1990s. The surviving foursome showed no scars of their turbulent past, an epic tale of excess encompassing drugs, drink, chaotic romantic affairs and Spinal Tap-style follies.
The grey-bearded, pony-tailed Fleetwood, clad eccentrically in black knee-breeches and red court shoes, with a trademark pair of wooden balls dangling from his belt in the style of a mysterious fertility symbol, played with an antic gleam in his eyes: Prospero with a pair of drum sticks. His flat-cap-wearing sidekick McVie was rock-solid on bass, giving tracks such as “The Chain” bite beneath the irresistible West Coast harmonies.
Nicks, “our lady of Fleetwood Mac”, as Fleetwood introduced her, suffered from a low mix on “Dreams” but this was soon rectified. Her look combined rock-chick leather boots and floaty outfits that flowed poetically around her, stirred by a wind machine and her slow, swirling dance moves. Yet there was nothing mystical about her vocals, which had the powerful nasal twang of a country-rock grande dame.
Buckingham led from the front, barking out vocals and playing scorching guitar solos, such as the virtuoso axe heroics at the climax of “I’m So Afraid”. His whoops and “Yee-aahs!” were pure arena-rock ham. No wonder there was no stage scenery – Buckingham would have chewed it up. Yet his performance was tight as a spring. There was nothing bloated about this group of rock survivors.

SET LIST: FLEETWOOD MAC, WEMBLEY ARENA, LONDON
2nd November 2009 By Gary Nicks
FLEETWOOD Mac could have retired gracefully years ago knowing their place in rock history is assured.
But they keep coming back for more - and can still conjure up the same magic that made them megastars in their 1970s heydey.
From the moment Stevie Nicks emerged like a gothic fairy, you knew it was going to be business as usual.
The band may have a combined age of 251 years, but they deliver their timeless hits like the grand masters of soft rock they truly are.
With no new material to promote, their Unleashed world tour is all about serving up bucketloads of classic tracks for fans.
And they really are plundering their back catalogue going way back to when they formed as a blues-rock outfit in 1967.
From Peter Green's charging Oh Well through to the synth pop 80s of Tango in the Night, it’s all there in a packed two and a half hour set.
The hair may be greying and the vocals sometimes strained, but that didn't seem to matter.
Crowd favourites were always going to be tunes from their self-titled 1975 album and their career-defining 1977 album Rumours.
Don't Stop and Go Your Own Way had the seated arena on its feet and air guitaring, while the slower Landslide and Sara rekindled the band's trademark dreamy atmospherics.
The biggest cheers went to foot-stomping anthem The Chain.
Frontman Lindsay Buckingham strutted around the stage like his ego was still about to burst.
The guy is a clearly a six-string genius, but it was like he was trying to be cooler than your dad on a wedding dancefloor.
Bassist John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, the founding members, were steady as ever (and bizarrely looking like Chas & Dave with flatcaps and waistcoats.)
But what a shame the line-up lacked Christine McVie, who quit years ago, meaning no more of those lovely harmonies with Stevie.
Mick was barmy, grunting like a mad man in his solos and emerging from behind the drums with spiny red shoes brighter than Dorothy's.
They all - apart from John - gave mini-speeches about surviving in one of the world's biggest bands.
Lindsey thanked fans and reminded us: "You know, we have a convoluted and emotional history."
It's ok, we know Lindsey, and that's what makes Fleetwood Mac still being together that much more alluring.

John Walsh: 'Fleetwood Mac survived 42 years of madness, sex, drugs, failure and success'
Tuesday, 3 November 2009
I went to see Fleetwood Mac at Wembley Arena and, musically speaking, it was wonderful. The strains of "If You Go Your Own Way" (which Lindsay Buckingham wrote about Stevie Nicks after their stormy relationship came to an end), the passion that Stevie Nicks put into "Sara" (the song she wrote about her best friend, for whom Mick Fleetwood left his wife after he'd ended his affair with Stevie), the tenderness of "You Make Loving Fun" (which the keyboards player Christine McVie wrote in a tribute to the lighting-rigger for whom she conceived a passion when her husband, the bassist John McVie, hit the bottle), and the final singalong of "Don't Stop" (which Christine wrote after her eight-year marriage packed up,) were inspiring indeed, although my favourite moment was Buckingham's gorgeous solo rendition of "Never Goin' Back Again" (about Stevie's breakdown, after her well-documented cocaine addiction...)
You can try and keep the music separate from Fleetwood Mac's emotional serpentinings, but it wouldn't be so much fun. No beat combo in rock history has had such combustible permutations of personnel, or such terrible luck. They've survived 42 years of madness, drugs, marital bust-ups, sexual rivalry, drink, failure, bankruptcy, wild success, rehab clinics, and a whole gamut of peculiar hairstyle choices. Their heyday was of course 1975, when Fleetwood and the warring McVies signed up Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and they made Rumours out of their tormented relationships. Many thought it commercial schlock at the time, but the tunes got inside your head and stuck like fishhooks.
So I went to see them at Wembley – and what a weird sight they make these days. Mick Fleetwood, now 62, shiny-pated and white-bearded, whacked the drums like a deranged pirate king, widening his scary eyes until the whites glowed. During an extended solo, he appeared to hold a conversation with the tom-toms. McVie, the inscrutable former tax inspector, wore a white Kangol beret and a black waistcoat. We looked at him and Fleetwood, their grizzled chins and stolid Britishness. "My God," breathed the person beside me, "it's Chas 'n' Dave."
Buckingham, in skinny leather jacket and collarless T-shirt, talked about the band's emotional rollercoaster, struck attitudes and scrubbed his guitar during long solos. It was very much the Lindsey Show. Ms Nicks sang gorgeously in her low contralto and did her twirling-with-a-shawl routine, but sounded emotionally conflicted, like a pissed-off Pollyanna.
They look absurdly different – how did they ever work together? Mick and John, like retired yeoman farmers, relaxing after a hard day's pig-scratching. Lindsey and Stevie, seeming half a generation younger, so Californian, neurotic, theatrical. Buckingham, though an astounding guitarist, seemed prattish and full of himself beside the cool beardies. At the end, he teased the crowd with hints of another album. Mick Fleetwood wasn't bothered about such things. "Look after each other in this crazy world," he told the crowd, with evident emotion, and was rewarded with a mighty cheer – not for being a rock star, for being such an indestructible old (English) buzzard.

10-30-09 is by far the best show of the tour captured on tape. And that guy who filmed from lindseys side has one of the best ameture recordings ive seen. I just really wish they would've filmed Storms, Stand Back Go Insane all of Oh Well Silver Springs etc.
It's amazing how much better some of these songs are getting espeically in this first wembly show. Stevie's finally added little nuances to Lindsey's songs in return to Lindsey adding to hers. Her background vocals on GYOW are awseome. And we only have the end part of world turning but she was singing that like I haven't heard her sing since 1980.
And last but DEFINITLY not least, ****ing Gold Dust Woman!!! That song is firing on EVERY cylander. That is Stevie's best scream this decade. And i thought the video was just repeating on me on her DRAAAGON but then i replayed and she really did hold for that long. And even if stevie wasnt singing it so good, Lindsey Mick John and the band are conducting a freaking symphony on Gold Dust Woman. Im hearing more layers on the unleashed tour then when Stevie had the whole melbourne orchestra backing her.

Honestly, the fans have taken such incredible, often breathtaking pictures. They should make their own tour books and pass the programs out to the band at concerts, since FM refuses to do it the other way around!

Well, I'm not sure what you mean here but the point I was making was that the performances of Silver Springs during The Dance tour were better than anything we've seen since. Raw? Hell yeah!!
I wanted to say that I wouldn't want to watch such raw stuff during this tour. They play fun stuff, there is no need for intensive personal drama. Personally, I found Stevie violated Lindsey on The Dance, not that he didn't deserve it, it was a deeply personal moment but nevertheless I did't like it on the DVD and just wouldn't want to watch it nowadays, especially not staged on stage.

Violated is a strong word ... particularly when you consider that The Dance, being as polished as it was, was probably planned and choreographed to within an inch of its life, so I can't imagine Lindsey wouldn't have had an opportunity to object to the personal drama stuff if he wanted to.
Can you clarify your point? :wavey:

I'll try. :)
From what I read about it (in Rolling Stone), the particular scene they put on The Dance was neither choegraphed nor scripted. Stevie did a very good SS the night before and everyone thought that she wouldn't top that. So when she basically killed Linds onstage, everyone was quite suprised and to a degree even shocked. And Lindsey clearly wasn't happy with it, you see it and he said it, numerous times.
And since it was an outburst, you cannot except Stevie or Lindsey to repeat that night after night on tour. And like I said, as a display of raw emoton it stands out, but it is not a pleasure to watch, at least not for me.

As for Silver Springs, Stevie said that she saved it all for the second taping. So, that is definitely not how they rehearsed it and not even how it was performed the first night that was recorded.

The first signs were good. I've been to a lot of shows by “heritage bands” in my time, but I don't think I've ever seen a crowd for a band of Fleetwood Mac's vintage that had such a relatively even age distribution. Sure, it was weighted towards the greying end of the scale, but every age group down to teens – including teens there in groups under their own steam, not just with parents – was well represented, right across class boundaries too. But then Fleetwood Mac have always been a lot of things to a lot of people. From the bluesy sixties underground Peter Green era, through the spectacular seventies pinnacles of rock-Babylon mega-success following Green's decline and departure and the arrival of sparkly-eyed Californians Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, to the shiny pure pop of their late-eighties Tango in the Night creative swansong, they covered an awful lot of ground (all documented in the recent BBC documentary Don't Stop). Everyone was hoping their setlist might suit their own tastes – in my case the Tango In The Night songs of my schooldays.
Sadly they did not play this.
On stage, the band managed the extraordinarily impressive feat for such a repeatedly split-and-reformed act of actually looking like a band. Other than the lack of Christine McVie, who has seemingly permanently retired from live performance, this was the classic seventies/eighties lineup of Nicks and Buckingham out front and the founder-members' British rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie (the original “Fleetwood” and “Mac”) on drums and bass behind them – plus backing vocalists and two session musician multi-instrumentalists in the wings.
Fleetwood and McVie looked rather like a multimillionaire Chas & Dave with their matching flat caps, waistcoats and beards, while Buckingham had the air of an over-dressed pervy music teacher and Nicks of a wonderfully batty goth aunt, complete with one black glove, tinsel hanging from her sleeves and a mic stand draped with witchy decorations. But somehow, among the arena lightshow and moving set decorations, despite all the history, they still looked like their relationship was musical.
And it is. From the swagger of “The Chain” (from the quintillion-selling Rumours) onward it was clear this is more than just some ageing drug casualties propped up by technology and extra staff. The 12-string guitar jangle of Tusk's “I Know I'm Not Wrong” showed how much Fleetwood Mac's work prefigured the whole of eighties alternative rock as well as the mainstream – making them the missing link between The Byrds and The Cult. “Second Hand News” was a mighty country-rock stomp, showing precisely how much the band were always connected to heartland America. And “Rhiannon” and “Sara” showed how much Nicks's voice was born to age gracefully, it's catches and cracks only made more affecting by age's emphasis.
Nicks, in fact, despite what could in a lesser performer have been annoyingly kooky affectations, held the whole first half of the show together. Where Buckingham's between-songs addresses to the audience seemed horrendously worthy, full of Californian therapy talk about “shared appreciation” and “how important it is to just have fun”, her chat was insouciant, sincere, ditzy, and her memories of late-60s San Fransisco before they played “Gypsy” entirely absorbing. If it hadn't been for her the first half of the set could have felt like the best dads-down-the-pub-on-a-Sunday-blues band in the world.
Buckingham had his moment, though. Just as we began to find his therapy-speak self-indulgence too much, he played solo the most astonishing acoustic version of Tango in the Night's “Big Love” and we were won over entirely. He is the kind of performer who will never, ever be cool like Nicks – despite having reached the pinnacle of everything that should be groovy, he will always be trying that bit too hard – but his musicianship was able to overcome that.
And it was his musical direction that dominated Fleetwood Mac's golden age, and thus this set, bringing in a fantastic diversity of influences to the show. The baroque counterpoint of his solo acoustic guitar tracks, the Appalachian gospel harmonies of an absolutely stunning “Storms”, the way he made the riffs in the verses of “Gold Dust Woman” sound like The Stooges, and most crucially to the Fleetwood Mac we all know and love, his sparklingly rich arrangements – all showed a truly brilliant musical intelligence still at work. It's just a shame he didn't seem able to realise that people appreciated him for his music rather than for his attempts to be cool: his stagecraft, constantly reaching out to the crowd for the affirmation of their hungry touch and frotting his guitar in a creepily quasi-sexual way, was as desperately needy as Nicks's was coolly inviting.
No matter though: Nicks and Buckingham were both brilliant, their faults only emphasising the other's strengths. It's just a shame about their rhythm section. If it weren't for the obvious bolstering sense of band history from having the four of them on stage together that stimulated Nicks and Buckingham to perform so well, Fleetwood and McVie's musical contribution would have been nothing that hired hands couldn't have provided. Whether being dragged up front to play on a tiny drumkit – like a 6'9” bear on a tricycle – or playing a grand finale drum solo of staggering tedium, Fleetwood was like a session drummer with bolted-on overprivileged annoying-old-hippie mannerisms, and McVie was just an absence. They reminded us that while the band may have many things, including melodic and harmonic skills to match anyone in pop, the one thing they never had in abundance was groove.
Fleetwood's hideous, grunting, would-be-shamanic solo (so invasive and overlong that my wife stormed out into the lobby, snapping “text me when they play a song"), the massive cluster of self-congratulation that ended the main set, and the dreary stomp of “Don't Stop” (a song so blandly motivational Bill Clinton used it in his 1992 campaign) in the encore could have ruined the whole show. So could the lack of any Tango in the Night songs other than “Big Love” (presumably because so many of them were written or co-written by the absent Christine McVie). So it's a measure of precisely how powerful Fleetwood Mac are as a collective entity – as a band - that they managed to leave us remembering stunning moments from a set full of great grown up musical thrills rather than those clunky and immature rockstar indulgences.

I generally don't pay much attention to reviews but I feel this one summed up Fleetwood Mac fairly well, with this exception of his harsh and undeserved criticism of Mick and John. Sorry, but I don't think "hired hands" could sound anywhere near as good as John and Mick, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. The reviewer did seem to have a very deep insight into Lindsey. I could never quite put my finger on what mildly irritates me about Lindsey's performances but this guy finally uncovered it: he's trying to hard when he doesn't need to. And as the reviewer stated, he will never be as cool as Stevie. Perhaps this still remains an issue for Lindsey to contend with.

I just got back from the concert and am uploading pictures.
When Lindsey first addressed the crowd he said he wanted to say hello to all of their friends in the audience, especially Christine. He said, "We love you."
When Stevie dedicated Landslide she said that she wanted it to be joyous not sad. And even though she was feeling joyous she wanted Christine to know that she misses her every day. She misses how funny she is and how brilliant it feels to be in her presence.
I thought Mick would mention Chris but he didn't. He said he had the flu and that all of them were staying away from him and he felt devastated by the exclusion. He was speaking at Lindsey's mic and had to pull it up to talk. He was befuddled: "Lindsey can't be this short!"

Stevie ended the show by saying that they went "balls to the walls" and that it was a great rock and roll. I would have to agree with her assessment.
As they took the stage, I noticed that Lindsey was in his red shirt again. So, I didn't get to witness that Watchdevil blue of his in person.
How did that guy manage to tell Christine they loved her without adding, "but you burned your bridges?"
After Lindsey acknowledged Christine's presence, of course I couldn't help woindering where she might be sitting. I tried to see of they fixed their gaze at any particular part of the audience -- assuming they even knew where she was sitting.
I got the feeling she was out towards the center somewhere, but some people around me thought she was sitting to the side on Stevie's side of the stage. They kept pointing an enthusiastic woman out. She wore part of her hair flipped to the side with a red/blue ribbon about it. It reminds me of a style Chris wore in her younger days. I didn't think this woman was her, but it would be lovely if it was, because that lady was really enjoying the show. She was animated, but then so were Lindsey and Stevie.
After saying "We love you" to Christine, Lindsey launched into his forward moving speech and the bit about not having a new album out "yet." John and Stevie always express their silent disagreement during this little moment.
When Stevie introduces Gypsy she says that because they opened for Hendrix to a crowd of 75,000 and Joplin with a crowd of 30,000, when they joined Fleetwood Mac, they did so with just a little bit of confidence. She said that after not seeing Lindsey for 2 years, the drummer in Fritz called her because Lindsey does not like to make phone calls. She said this song harks back to their little house, to their bedroom "and to the Gypsy that he and I love." So, Lindsey is loving the gypsy too? Well, I did kind of get that impression from Donovan's song, but nice to have her concur.
She says that when she and Lindsey opened for others, they were number 8 on the list, but the benefit of being last is that they got to watch everyone else and to learn from them.
Lindsey started off the show biting his nails, as if he had a catch or hang nail on one of his fingers. He turned that into high comedy by filing his nails before Big Love started. When the audience laughed, he stretched out a hand, asking them to wait just a moment, while he finished.
Stevie dedicated Landslide to Christine by saying it was a joyous moment, not a sad one. But I did sense a sadness in her eyes anyway. At the end when they took their bow, Lindsey walked away quickly while she was still facing him. When he got his guitar and started the next song, the opening notes were unfamiliar to me and I wondered if they had added a surprise song to the setlist. Maybe for Christine? Silly me. The song was just NGBA, with a slow, cautious intro. Lindsey actually played that beginning like he wasn't sure what he was doing. But then he broke out into the familiar tune and everyone responded.
I cannot tell you how rousing and intimate their interaction on both Sara and Storms is now. When they turn their mics towards each other and lock eyes, it might not be real romance, but it is two bandmates saying, "let's give this all the emotion we have, for the crowd." It's a couple, acting in tandem to not only harmonize, but to create a feeling, a mood. And I've got to tell you, it works. So maybe the hug is staged, but even the way they commit to the singing is moving all by itself.
Someone here already brought us pictures of Lindsey and John doing a little jamming together, but it happened a lot, during 3 or 4 songs. That's something I hadn't noticed during the American leg. In those shows, John always did smile at Lindsey and point after "Oh Well" and he did the same this time. Lindsey also pointed back at John and Mick.
I was a little nervous about SYLM because of Christine, but they did it well and with intense smiles. They just looked very happy. The song rocked and I even heard a group of people singing it on the way back to Wembley Station. Chris should give them a gold star.
When Mick introduced the band, he said that Stevie had to put up with the three of them and that she was outnumbered, but a trooper. He introduced her as Stephanie Nicks and then said "Stevie" too. Thank goodness: that eliminated certain confusion.
Before the first encore, I saw Lindsey and Stevie standing together. He was already holding her hand and she was whispering something in his ear, before they started to walk out to the stage. When they got to the center, Lindsey took her gloved hand and pretended to wipe the sweat off of his shirt with it. She gave a look of mock consternation and rung her hand, as if to rid it of fake perspiration. It was pretty cute.
When they all took their bow, they were standing in a line as always, but then Mick stood apart from them and came around and bowed towards them, instead of with them. I didn't understand it then, but he later explained they didn't want to be near him because he had the flu.
Lindsey thanked the audience for being at the last show of their tour. Um, someone needs to tell them they have a few dates scheduled in December.
Lindsey left the stage. Stevie came to the mic gleefully and said they had gone "balls to the walls." She stayed behind to here Mick and she covered her nose with her paws again. Very playful.
Very bouyant. A beautiful show. Well worth the trip, despite the rain and the cold and the snotty All Access guy.
I would go anywhere, anywhere. Ask me and I'm there.

Michele I didn't realise you were going to this show. Where were you standing? From the angle of the photos it looks like you were pretty close to me.
I thought the show was absolutely incredible, maybe because it's the last of the European concerts. Stevie's Landslide dedication to Christine was very touching. She said something like "I miss you every single day and how funny you are and how brilliant it is to be in your presence." Something like that anyway. Shame they couldn't entice her though to join them on stage.

Sharon, I was at the stage on Stevie's side. Yes, what she said about Christine was very sweet. I didn't want her to perform. I just wanted to see her:distress:. I thought it was a great show too and they seemed so happy.

That's where I was too! Did you get to strum Lindsey's guitar? I get a thrill out of that every time.

I can't resist the ship and must say that Lindsey kissed Stevie's head 3 different times. He kissed her twice when they all took their first bow as a group and then when they pulled apart at the end, to say their goodbyes to the audience, he cupped her head in his hand and kissed her again, as if this really was the end of the tour and he might not be seeing her for awhile. Guys, remember Australia and New Zealand?
When Stevie started her intro to Storms, she said that they started rehearsals on January 5 and did 53 shows in America and I think she said she thought they did 16 in Europe. When she discussed wanting to do Storms for the first time, it made me wish that Lindsey would dust off one that he's never done before too. He just got off a solo tour with new songs, but I still wish he'd take an old one that's been overlooked (i.e. TITN) and give it to us.
Speaking of the Tango album, he started groaning during Oh Well in a way that reminded me of his Big Love grunts. The longer the tour continues, the more primal it gets.

I didn't touch Lindsey's guitar. I've never done that. Yes, I did see Stevie looking to her right, but I wondered if maybe she was just giving that side of the audience attention and maybe I just imagined it might be Christine, but when Stevie looked, people on the floor started looking over too.

Michele,
What amazing pictures and a fabulous summary, especially all the SNL detail. I've been thinking to myself for weeks that they have really seem to connect a lot more on this leg of the tour. 6 (well 3) weeks in a foreign country I guess.
I really hope the momentum keeps going and that the leg next month has the same vibe.
So glad you got to experience a wonderful show, even if you didn't get to see the blue shirt.
Safe travels back home.

I guess it's hard to know. Would there be a VIP area at the side? (or at the back maybe?) Because otherwise I imagine someone would have seen her there. Especially in the UK, because here Christine's songs were always bigger hits than Stevie's.

I could see into the side where Cory and the crew were and I kept looking for Christine. Like you said, she may have been backstage drinking wine and watching a monitor:laugh:.
I didn't use a flash, but for some reason my pictures came out too bright and they suffered and got blurry from the zoom, but in the end we all have great pictures from every single song, thanks to the ones other people have posted since the very first night.

Yeah, it will be interesting to hear any new press that comes out. I'm sure most of the Australia/NZ coverage will be the same stuff we just read/heard/saw for the past 3 weeks, but maybe we'll get a few more new interviews. Nonetheless, i'll be trolling for any sort of quote that i can read into. :)

I leave tomorrow or should I say today. I have no sightseeing plans, other than what's within walking distance. I was thinking what if Michael Jackson was alive? I'd have probably go and see one of his London shows, if the dates fit.
I'd also love to see a play, but I don't want to miss any more work. I couldn't go all the way out to Perth or anything next month, so I wanted to see them here, as the last time in 2009. I guess I was hoping for a little something from Chris. Don't say anything, just squeeze a little accordion! But I suppose 95% of me must have known that would not happen.

Love reading your review, as always.
Awesome review Michele (as always). This show sounded like a very special one. In fact, I think all these European shows have brought something out in this band because, as brilliant and amazing as they were in the states, it just seems like they're so much more relaxed, humorous, energized, from all I have read. Must be their European heritage coming out or something. Anyway, thank you. And the pictures are incredible. Wow to the Sara embrace.
