I'm looking forward to another Red Sox/Yankees ALCS after the boys from beantown dispatch with the Angels. They're 9-1 against the Angels in the last 3 postseason's. Been a Red Sox fan for over 30 years here even though I'm from Minnesota.

I don't think the Angels are going to roll over quite so easily this year.. just a hunch. Not exactly a good year (comparatively speaking) for the Sox, especially going into the playoffs.

The Twins obviously looked tired, but I expect 'em to bounce back in game 2 against the Yanks.

The Angels/Red Sox series is a toss-up.

I think the Phils will have no problem against the Rockies.

Of course the Dodgers/Cards series is the one I will be enjoying the most. I think this one will go the full 5 games with the Dodgers taking the series.

I don't know what I want to happen with the Sox/Angels. On one hand, I want the Sox out early, on the other, the way things have been going, the Yankees have a better shot against them than the Angels.

I really would like to see the Yankees play the Dodgers. Especially since there are still some of Torre's men on the Yanks. Would be interesting. Though I'd feel a little bad if Don Mattingly STILL didn't get a ring.

How about possibly playing the coldest playoff game in MLB history Saturday night? It's supposed to get down to 28 degrees with snow showers in Denver. Pedro Martinez is starting for the Phils. If there's a weather delay, they don't have Jamie Moyer to bail out Pedro.

Seriously, how can you pitch in sub freezing temperatures? Last years WS in Philly was pretty bad in the low 40's. At least the Phils had an advantage over the dome living Tampa Bay Rays.

Oops, bye Sox! Hoping the Yanks get it done tonight. No use stretching this stuff out! ;)

Last night's Phillies/Rockies game was postponed because of snow and tonight, the high is 31. I'm guessing that's pretty freaking cold even for the home team, so it'll be interesting to see how that goes. If they make it to the WS, let's hope they schedule some day games?

For some reason Charlie Manuel gets a lot of flak from certain Phillies fans that can never be pleased. I thought last night was one of his best high risk decision making games.

BTW this TBS coverage is the absolute worst. Knowing that the game was going to be played in temperatures below 30, did they not move to the afternoon? Why am I watching baseball at 2AM EDT? They could've made the Yankee/Twins game the late game since it was played indoors.

It never got above 30 all day, as it was. Why the owners of the Colorado Rockies built a stadium that DIDN'T have a roof is what boggles MY mind. Did they just assume that they'd never be playing in October or what?

Not even just October, but I'd guess it's pretty chilly in April still too. I guess they probably start their season on the road but even so, they must have to play in Colorado at some point in April. I remember one year, the Yankees were playing their season opener in a snow squall in New York. I still have a vivid image of Bernie Williams with his turtleneck up past his nose. I'd find it hard to believe that it doesn't happen in Colorado too! Seriously, someone wasn't thinking when they built that stadium. Perhaps the same someone who didn't put a retractable roof the Rangers new stadium, where they can rarely play day games due to the heat.

Well that's all over, Phillies won. Did you know the Twins are getting an outdoor field without a roof next year? That's more insane than playing in Denver. They are going to miss the Metrodome, without that building the Twins would not have two WS championships.

Now it's the Phillies/Dodgers rematch (Part 5, if you count 77,78,83,08)!! Prepare for some great baseball, too bad the Cardinals lacked any heart to put up a fight. Ever since the All-Star game I was told by MLB experts that the Cardinals were the best team in baseball. That's why I'll take a "salt of the earth" baseball manager over an "intellectual thinker!?!" super-hyped ego filled airbag such as Tony LaRussa.

LaRussa should've won three World Series in a row from 1988-90 with the A's. They were favored in every series. He lost to the Dodgers because that team had the heart of Kirk Gibson, but they weren't as talented. I think he won in '89 because of the S.F. earthquake, that was such a game changer. In '90 he was swept by the Reds, and the Reds weren't supposed to win one WS game.

I wished that the Cardinals had won the NLDS, because the Phillies would've destroyed them. Now with Joe Torre's Dodgers, it's going to be a decent fight.

I fear the Angels, so I hope the Yankees win in the A.L..

Eh, they managed several highly successful seasons outdoors back in the late 60's-early 70's.

LaRussa is an overrated manager with a MAJOR drinking problem. I fly out of Oakland Int'l at least once or twice a month, and I've seen him in the lounge at least 6-8 times over the last couple years- either being loud & overly jovial, or with his head down on the bar.

Sure, there was Kirk Gibson and his awesome HR...but they also had Orel Hershiser for the rest of the series...both as a starter AND he even did a relief stint or two. He was INCREDIBLE that entire year...reg season AND post-season.

I thought I read that kind of posting last year, yet the Phillies dispatched the Dodgers in five games. The Dodgers have never faced Cliff Lee, and the Phillies still have '08 NLCS nemesis MVP local SoCal native Cole Hamels. I'm not scared. The Phillies have the best road record in MLB this year, they don't care where they play.

If there is "divine intervention", then it will be the Philles, and Angels for the WS.

On April 9, 2009, Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed by a drunk driver in a car crash. Four days later, 39 year Phillies broadcast veteran Harry Kalas passes away before a game with the Nationals in Washington. Both teams erected memorial walls in their outfields. Both teams went to touch the wall in tribute after they clinched their league division.

Since Joe Torre signed a deal with the devil to make the Yankees great again, and ended up winning 4 WS Championships out of five years, only to be embarrassed in '01, and '03. I don't think Torre can work the same magic with the Dodgers. Just like last year, he made one too many moves and it ended up killing the team, thank you Matt Stairs.

The Phillies faced red-hot Manny last year, and won. He's not the same player this year. A local Philly sports radio station asked for a simple sign slogan against the Dodgers. The winner was:

"Manny isn't Manny without a shot in his fanny!"

Seriously, Man Ram isn't going to win the series for the Dodgers, it's Andre Ethier. That's the guy the Phillies should fear the most.

Even if the Phillies lose this series, I don't care. I saw greatness for the second time in my life. Yet there is something about this Phillies team that has the heart of the Yankees in the past decade. It's really uncanny.

I can't believe the Phillies won that game despite Cole Hamels. He did a serious baseball no-no by raising his hands during that botched double play that would've killed the first Dodger rally. You don't show up your teammates like that.

I also can't believe I saw Brad Lidge circa 2008. That's good news for me.

I doesn't help that Chase Utley has now developed Steve Sax disease at the worst possible time. He never makes bad throws on double plays, I wonder if his shoulder is hurt. Phillies get the split away, that's what they wanted. Today's game was playing with house money.

Yet if the bullpen keeps this up, the Phillies have no chance. What a waste for Pedro.

I remember Sax...played 2nd for the Dodgers in the 80's. Had trouble making routine throws to first.

It was a big surprise outing for Pedro. He was essentially out of baseball until hooking up late with the Philies.

Dodgers need to take two of three in Philadelphia, but I think the cold weather will hurt their game. It was 93 in LA yesterday.

The Yankees and Phillies are mirror images of each other. The Phillies should've won all three games in Yankee Stadium in May, but Brad Lidge was in blown save mode. Even if the Angels manage to come back, fine bring them on!

This is going to be interesting. I'll quote Buck Martinez from tonight's game: "The Phillies are an A.L. lineup in the National League."
