Hah... I was thinking about starting a thread about this song yesterday. It's one of my absolutely favorite Stevie songs. It's one of those songs I could never grow tired of listening. The combination of those lyrics, and that melody are simply amazing. It is so full of honesty, and despair, and I've found this song to be a perfect soundtrack in some situations in my life. In my opinion, it might be the best collaboration between Stevie and Sheryl. Too bad this song was neglected, and left out of every best of compilation. They should at least include the video on CV. Stevie looks beautiful in it. As for the movie, (Practical Magic) it was entertaining, and good, but I never really cared that much about it. However, I bet that you just CAN'T make a movie about witches, and not include Stevie on the soundtrack. :)

I" Adore this song. Both the Practical Magic songs are wonderful. ( I also LOVE the movie) The video should have Absolutely been included in CV. Im still on the hunt for a high quality version.

I have a HQ version. I could upload it later for you. Just please tell me which site to use. It takes forever to upload files on megaupload.com, and the video is about 40MB.

I would be interested in a copy too if you don't mind. :wavey:

I Miss You and Planets of the Universe were used in Charmed. Also I really like IYEDB also good song! The video isn't too bad i like the part in the end where she is spinning around in front of the candles. I think it's funny she claims not to be a witch but she gets put on soundtrack of witch related stuff!

There's a sliver of "Forest of the Black Roses". That in itself makes me love this song. Oh and the "Gold Dust Woman" acoustic hums. Win win win win win.

I love the movie the video and the song along with her solo version of Crystal as well on the soundtrack of the movie.

I do wish she would sing this solo on tour some time it would be awesome i think even if she did an accoustic version with the waddy on accoustic guitar and sharon,Jana and Lori singing along with her on this would be awesome I do believe it will be awesome if she decides to put this in a future tour set if possible.

Does anyone have the original demo of this song? Did she make a demo of it back in the 70's?

Love this song! The whole "I'd give anything to see you one more time" feel of it gets to me every time. The best part is the "baby don't leave me's" at the end...I wish there was a third harmony though. Oh well...leaves me a place to sing.

Oh I agree, this is one of my favorite stevie/sheryl collaborations as well; I was so underwhelmed by their work together on Sheryl's C'mon C'mon record (you can hardly hear Stevie on any of the tracks). Whenever I can hear IYEDB, I can clearly hear both of them there's no denying that their voices compliment each other and blent well.

In regard to the video, it's fantatistic...Stevie looks drop-dead gorgeous in it.

I think there is a demo for this song, but a lot of people complain it is a lot slower compared to the original and it doesn't sound like Stevie is singing it.

Love love love this song!!!! One of my very favorites and I don't think I'll ever tire of hearing it!! But yes I am bummed that there aren't any decent demos out there :distress: Long story but when those master reels surfaced this song was suppose to be on one that was offered to me--- long story short I got ripped off BIG time and never got the reels :( The reels that were offered to me I don't think have ever surfaced--I was hoping that maybe someone got it since I didn't but I have never seen it since...... someone out there probably has it and has just never circulated it..... or a non fan has it in their basement or something and doesn't realize what they have!!

I have only one demo from the Bella Donna period. The quality is great. I used to have the same demo in much lower quality, and was thrilled when I found a much bettert version. I don't think that the song is slower, but it sounds countrysh. Please check if we are speaking about the same demo. Over the years, this was the only demo I've ever came across, just varying in quality.

It's the same song. The first is just a little bit slower, and again, it's the same demo that I posted too. I guess that this is the only demo circulating. The only other version that I have is Louise Goffins.
