I guess it's not a surprise that The Beatles won the last poll with 15 votes to Dylan and the Beach Boys nine votes apiece.
Next up is four albums I think sum up the whole Laurel Canyon era. And I know The Eagles came later but they came out of that scene and effectively ended it too.
Vote for your favourite and post which one you voted for and why! :)

Hey, I'm the first to vote on this! Man, this is tough! Choosing between Harvest and Blue (or all 4 for that matter!) I had to go with Joni though. Bearing in mind that the album is so intensely personal and she was so thoroughly a part of that scene from her before her first record even came out, which was produced by David Crosby. It's as near perfect as a collection of songs is going to ever get.

I'd have to add Jackson Browne's first album, Saturate Before Using, to this list though. See, now I've started there are loads more...

I'm an Eagles girl, all the way

It might not be popular in all quarters but I went with the Eagles as well :o Mainly for Randy Meisner's "Try and Love Again", which is an awesome song. Randy was always the least embarrassing Eagle  Never been a huge Joni fan, but the other two are just fine with me.

It was a toss-up between "Blue" and "Hotel California". Both are sublime. I went with "Hotel California" though, such an amazing album before Eagles sold out.

Joni Mitchell. For me, there was no contest.

Like The Dude, I hate The Eagles, am I really the only one here that feels that way? I thought they were everything wrong with that scene  I thought they had some redeemable qualities when Bernie Leadon was in the band, after that not so much.
The lack of Neil and CSN love is upsetting to me :distress:

I thought of including Jackson, I love that album too.

Neil was my second choice if it helps. :p Nothing compares to Joni in my mind though. The Eagles were so definately my last choice, though I don't hate them, I listen to them occasionally...in small doses.

I may adore Hotel California but Harvest has a special place in my soul for life.

JONI. Neil is great and a close second, but Blue is one of my favorite albums ever.

If Neil loses to Joni I won't mind because Blue is so incredible but I will be crushed if he loses to The Eagles!

Blue, definitely. Joni is the best songwriter by far out of all those, and it's just a hell of an album.

I dislike Neil Young generally, but Harvest is one of his more listenable albums, for sure. Was never a big CSN fan. I don't dislike the Eagles, but I'm pretty sick of them and Hotel California is as overhyped and overplayed as Rumours, but not as good.

Late for the Sky has a slight edge over that one, for me. And I like JB ****loads better than Neil Young, CSN, or the Eagles.

It was a toss up between Blue and Harvest, but I ended up picking Joni because it looks like she has more of a chance at beating the Eagles. I really loathe that band.

Had to vote for Hotel California.
Even though I'm a little sick of the Eagles.

I remember going to a Luau in the 80's and
someone wanted to borrow my Hotel California
tape to play at the party. Big mistake, their tape
machine ate my tape.

Yes! Good taste! :D I just don't understand why anyone would want to listen to The Eagles when you could listen to Gram Parsons, Dillard & Clark or Jackson Browne etc. Maybe I'm missing something.

I'm really surprised at the lack of love for CSN given Stevie's endorsement of them as an early influence.

I'm a diehard Eagles fan. While the Hotel California lineup wasn't my favorite of the Eagles (I much prefer the starting lineup: Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, Glenn Frey, and Don Henley), it's still a great album.

And the last great studio album by the Eagles IMO.

The Long Run had a few good songs, but as a whole it was awful IMO.
And their latest is just.... different.

God, you don't want to do that! It's a very dark album! Obviously the title clues you into that but Little Green in particular, when you know what it's about... oh man...

I often feel like I do, especially 'A Case of You'.
