Hi everyone,

This may seem like a crazy idea, especially since many of us haven't actually met! Go with me though...

I was wondering who'd be up for organising a mass trip to NOTS in 2011? The one in 2010 is too close for me to be able to get the cash together for a trip to the US, especially because as soon as I finish studying in January I need to get a full time job to sort my finances out! I'd really love to go though and 2011 is the first year I could manage it.

I figure that if we started thinking about it this far in advance it gives those who are interested enough time to plan/save etc for the trip? Whoever has to travel a fairly long distance could treat it as part of a holiday to the US or something? It would be the perfect opportunity for us all to meet each other and put faces etc to all those we'd be talking to between now and then. The logistics might take some planning but once everyone was in NYC we'd just all arrange a place to meet and take it from there! I don't know anyone who is as big a Stevie/Mac fan as me and so I'd love to go there with people who get it as much as I do! It would be really great to get as many people as possible from all over, Europe, US, Australia...wherever!! Now you maybe see why I'm posting this so early now.

I thought we could get a list of people and then once it's fully announed we could start to sort it out properly on here. What does everyone think?

Obviously this is a long way off and this is just a preliminary idea, but who's up for it?

Al.

It's great that you want to help, but I always thought there were "offical" NOTS people who actually did all the planing, booked a place to have the event at, etc.

I think he means that he wants to plan a group for FM fans to go to NOTS... not actually plan NOTS.

Because yeah, there's "official" people that do that.

Absolutely right. God, there's no way I'd try to plan a NOTS, it's already an established event after all. They have their own people. I'm really not sure how you got that impression.

I also didn't mean that I'd be solely responsible for planning the whole thing if several of us wanted to go. We would obviously all arrange our own trasoprt/acommodation etc. I was just asking around to see if anyone would be up for going and arranging a bit of a mass Ledgie meeting for the event in 2011. Kind of like an international The Ledge field trip to NOTS! Haha! Sorry if that wasn't clear.

So, who's interested?

Yeah, I thought you had explained yourself clearly  but perhaps nailatixela just read it wrong.

That would be totally awesome!! One of these years I'm going to NOTS no matter what, but I'm just not sure when I'll be able to.

That's what I mean. Obviously there's no point in properly planning any details or anything yet (I'm all for forward planning but come on, lol), but if we start thinking about 2011 now it gives us all ages to plan and save for the trip... Any of the regulars on here up for it?

I think this is a good idea. I'd LOVE to go one year.

Still haven't seen that. It's on the top of my list! I might have to just bite the bullett and buy it without having seen it, which I so rarely do but I don't see how I'm going to get it otherwise. It's not on lovefilm.
