Here would be my favorites...a lot of equal ties in my mind.

Stevie Nicks
Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie
Bob Welch
Billy Burnette/Rick Vito
Danny Kirwan/Dave Walker
Peter Green

and the rest don't make the list...I didn't bother with John or Mick on the list since they don't sing. But personallity wise, John beats Mick.

I have a flair for Buckingham (being a musician)... but I feel all the members are equally as important.

So...

Buckingham = Stevie = Christine
&
Mick = John

1. Christine...

The rest I'm not so sure how to order, as I love parts of them in different ways and in different musical contexts.

But my remaining four (in no order) would probably be Danny, Peter, Stevie and Lindsey.

1. Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks. I will not pick one over the other and you can't make me!:p
2. Christine McVie
3. Peter Green
4. Bob Welch
5. Billy Burnette/Rick Vito- they have a similar vibe to me

I really can't comment on the others because I don't know their work as well. I also didn't include Mick and John because they are not songwriters. Now if we're talking about personality I would pick John McVie by a mile.

And because I just have to ask, Dani, how on earth is Mick Fleetwood ahead of Christine McVie on your list?

Now if we're talking about personality I would pick John McVie by a mile.Well, we can talk about musicianship, too. Hell, Mick Fleetwood drumming his way through Dreams is one of the most beautiful sounds on Earth.

And because I just have to ask, Dani, how on earth is Mick Fleetwood ahead of Christine McVie on your list?Well, Dani's a tad disturbed. :lol:
But she's very young. The thing with Dani is that you want to come back in about ten or twelve years & listen to her air her views. She will be devastating.

As for Dani's pick of Mick over Christine... I'm :confused: I like Mick's personality, but not sure how you can pick him over Chris. Her songs are timeless.

It's more from a personality standpoint. I LOVE many of Chris' songs but after meeting Mick, I have a whole new level of respect for him. He's such a cool guy.

But she wrote Why and Songbird and Brown Eyes and Heroes are Hard to Find and... Even if Mick gave me back all the money I've ever spent on Fleetwood Mac over the years, he still wouldn't go ahead of Christine or any of the other songwriters, although I respect his talent. Does not compute, does not compute. Okay I'm done now, carry on.

I agree- those three songs happen to be my favorite Christine tracks ever. Really, Mick and Christine are tied-- I just have a bit of a favoritism issue since I met Mick and not Chris :)

GypsyBlueEyes

I can't speak for everyone, but the thing about Mick is that when you watch him play the drums...not only is he AMAZING but I love the fact that you can look at him and see how much he loves it and how much fun he is having. I love Christine...and her songs...but Mick has this personality that just grabs your attention.

Although it's a fun topic, I love reading the responses, I can't make myself rank them. I mean, of course, after Lindsey Buckingham, because he is and will always be my number 1. After that, it could be Christine, Peter, Stevie, John...I'm leaning towards them but no specific order.

No doubt about it-- I ADORE the music she puts out. "Brown Eyes" and "Songbird" are in my top favorites of all time. But this is a list of "preference" with no subtitle specifying what the preference should be based on. So yes, I could put Chris higher if I met her-- but I absolutely loved Mick and for now, he deserves his place right where it is :)

GypsyBlueEyes

08-26-2009, 12:26 AM

That is SO true about Mick. I have truly warmed to him. Shoot, I'll put him in after John...

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about Mick at first...he kind of scared me a little with all the facial expressions and that weird eye thing he does...especially when he's playing :lol: ...but it wasn't too long before he started to grow on me.
