Stevie Nicks is a hard act to follow

SUPERSTAR Stevie Nicks will not allow Lindsay Lohan to play her in a planned Fleetwood Mac biopic.

"Lindsay cannot be me until she gets her life together," Nicks, 61, told the Sunday Herald Sun. "If I were to do a movie, or allow a movie about my life, Lindsay Lohan is not the person I would pick to do it.

"She has got completely off track. She has a bad reputation. She is a party girl.

"I would want somebody who is an excellent actress and dedicated to their craft."

Fleetwood Mac is swamped by movie offers and Nicks has picked the actor to play her.

"I want Reese Witherspoon to play me," Nick said. "Reese knows. She would play Stevie Nicks really well."

Nicks can relate to the traps snaring Hollywood's new brat pack.

She once released a solo album, Trouble In Shangri La, about the perils of celebrity and fame.

"I look at Miley Cyrus and wonder how she can keep it up because she is everything," Nicks said. "She is a singer, an actress, a dancer, a song writer. She is very famous. And she's only 16."

Nicks knows Miley's father, singer-actor Billy Ray Cyrus, keeps his daughter on track.

"He's a good old boy. He's tough as nails underneath that sweet smile," she said.

Nicks said Paris Hilton should not be rated alongside Cyrus, Lohan or Britney Spears.

"Paris is an heiress. She has so much money, she never has to work a day in her life," Nicks said.

"But she has purposely chosen to build an empire. So God bless her."

But Nicks gave her strongest support to Spears.

"I love Britney and I want the best for her," Nicks said. "She has got her life back and she has two boys who need her.

"But Britney has her body back, her beauty back and, hopefully, she will get her power back."

Fleetwood Mac performs at Rod Laver Arena on December 1. Tickets go on sale on September 4.

Reese probably already practiced I Still Miss Someone for the Johnny Cash movie, so she's all set to go as Stevie.

(Ok, am I the only one that laughed at this? I found it to be completely hypocritical considering Stevie's party life back in the day). Well, I know where she is coming from though I guess. She wants an actress who is serious about her acting craft and not someone who is not taking her career seriously. I am sure Stevie does not want any bad karma/vibe surrounding the project if it is ever made. She wants an actress who will do well. Interesting though how this topic keeps being brought up in interviews.

Yeah, I was a bit like, 'Oh, and of course you stayed at home baking cakes inbetween 1975 - 1986.' Of course, the project probably would be doomed from the offset if an actress with a bad reputation was linked to it. And I think the reason it's brought up is either a) slight rewording from other interviews or b) they keep asking why she doesn't want Lindsay Lohan to play her. Both are equally annoying.

I'd rather have Stevie write an autobio than see her life depicted on the big screen by other people.

I'm sure it'd be interesting having Reese play her and whatnot, but I don't know... it'd just seem strange.

Even if Stevie was going to help with the movie, I'd rather be able to read about her in her own words.

Ditto. If I didn't hate Lindsey Lohan with every fiber of my being (sober or not), I'd say we should wait 5 years until she finally gets out of rehab for the final time. :)

We need someone who can play a drugged out demon-fairy. Reese doesn't give that impression :)

When I woke up early Saturday morning, my tv was on with the sound down and Election with Reese and Matthew Broderick was on. It was pretty funny to watch Reese glowering, plotting and using angry, ferocious strength just to press campaign buttons. I think she could handle some of the other strands of Stevie's personality.

I just wonder if Stevie would be uncomfortable having some of the more unflattering times onscreen. Sure she doesn't mind talking about the drug use and I don't think it's the cocaine party times or snorting times that would embarass her. But seeing an actress play out the effect of the Klonopin times might be something she won't want to do. She'll talk about them, but does she want to see them again?

I"m fairly certain that at some point we will see a Fleetwood Mac movie, but I also think it will center around the '75-78 years.

With so many movies about musicians - and each one touching on the same topics (sudden fame, addiction, fall from grace, a comeback), the romantic entanglements is the story that separates their story from all the others. I'd love to see a top flight filmmaker tackle it rather than see an all-encompassing FM or SN story on Lifetime.

There's a lot of talk about who could play Stevie or Lindsey, but WHO would play Christine?

Don't get mad at me, because I love Reese dearly, and she is also one of my fav actresses, but she is NOT the girl to play Stevie. I agree, I think there needs to be someone that isn't well-known yet. Although Reese has had some pretty diverse roles, she is kind of like Sandra Bullock to me--they are great actresses, I love them both, but they kind of just have their own "thing" or something going on and no matter what movie they play in, they kinda seem the same to me. Nothing about Reese screams Stevie to me.

I also think we have nothing to worry about anytime soon because Stevie hasn't even written the book yet. She better write the damn book too before a movie is made. At any rate, whatever happens, I would much rather read the book like Alexa said. I want to hear what happened from HER point of view, cus movies edit junk out for time. And Stevie better not be flakey about her future book either, haha. We know how she is about timelines and stories about songs, sometimes they differ a bit. She just better not act like all those hot steamy love affairs didn't happen, lol, cus thats why I love her.

I agree you with about Rese being too well known. Just the fact that she already won an Oscar for playing someone else would keep me from wanting her to play Stevie.

I personally think she would be better playing Stevie than she was June Carter Cash. I think with June, she created a new character rather than playing the actual June with whom I was familiar and I think she could come closer to playing Stevie. But she is already too famous and it would be like going to see Reese in a movie, rather than going to learn about the subject of that movie.

I don't know, but I want both! haha. A Stevie movie would include the Mac a great deal....so I don't know. I mean, if they made it a really long and thorough movie that accounted for everything that went on from the start of SnL joining FM all the way through her solo career, I would be happy with that. But I'd also like to have just a Fleetwood Mac movie, maybe made more from the perspective of Lindsey, haha, that could be real interesting.

I know I'm the only one here who thinks this, but I think Lindsey Lohan would be FANTASTIC as Stevie. I truly think she's a GOOD actress, and she's seemed passionate about this role for years. She seems to have great admiration for Stevie, knows her music, and I think her checkered past could actually give her a taste of some of the craziness that Stevie went through. I do think the media might take Reese more seriously playing Stevie than Lindsey, but that's about the only upside for me with Reese.

Watch Carol Ann make Storms into a movie.

Gag.

I don't see that happening. I just don't think the world really cares about Fleetwood Mac through the eyes of a bitter ex girlfriend of a bandmate who has been out of the picture for 30 years. Could Carol Ann be a consultant to a Mac film? Absolutely, after all she's a published autobiographer on the story with first hand experience. I don't think a film would be anywhere near 100% flattering for the band, but it wouldn't be a 100% love fest either. I think sometime in the past dozen or so years, Stevie has finally reached a truly revered rock status she has long deserved, but has always been denied. She was never taken very seriously by the media and critics... but now she's really looked up to as the fairy godmother of rock. I just don't see any film company wanting to make a wholly negative film about her, as Carol Ann's would be. Now what I wonder, is if Stevie would sign off on a project that consults Carol Ann? Or is that something that could happen after the fact, and could be out of Stevie's control?

I actually do understand what you are saying. There may have been a time when I might have thought that Lindsay would have done a good job playing Stevie. I just think that, at this point, she has pretty much destroyed her career and her reputation and I don't think she has the ability, the drive, or the work ethic to turn it all around. Anyone can say what they want to about Stevie but she made her mistakes, she faced them, she fought for her career, and she survived. Lindsay would have to work really hard to do the same and, as of yet, she is making no effort to do so. I don't think she has it in her to work that hard. As someone who loves Stevie and Fleetwood Mac, I don't want someone who is essentially a joke representing her and their story on screen. I'm not saying its impossible for Lindsay to turn her life around, I'm just saying that for every Drew Barrymore who succeeds, there are many, many more who fail.

Also, there really is the element of Stevie-ness that I don't think can be faked...there is something about Stevie that even the greatest of actresses couldn't capture.

As for Reese, I like her, I just don't think she's edgy enough to pull off a Stevie-worthy performance. Also, being praised the way she was by everyone for her performance in Walk the Line...not to mention the Oscar...I don't think she would seriously consider taking on another role where her performance would be so greatly compared. It would be nearly impossible to live up to everyone's expectations.

I agree. I think a movie where Reese plays Stevie would be panned by critics just because of that. I don't even know if Reese would even be interested in taking such a similar role. And I definitely concur that Reese just isn't complex enough of an actress to play Stevie. Stevie was crazy... good and bad. She was an eccentric visionary. Was a contributor of one of the best selling albums of all time. She had cocaine shot up her @ss. She was dubbed by Rolling Stone as the Queen of Rock. She went through rehab twice. She slept with every famous rock star ever. She's a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. A grammy winner. Cited by dozens of younger artists as a major inspiration. A fashion icon. Part of one the most famous triangles, err octagons in history. Reese is just too one dimensional, and FAR too goody goody to capture all that.

daniellaaarisen
08-23-2009, 11:18 PM
I agree with both of the last two posts. Lindsay probably has more potential for Stevie-dom than any other actress I can think of but a) that would be a train wreck b) Stevie ain't gonna let it happen and c) I really believe a lesser-known actress would let the movie really be 100% about STEVIE.

GypsyBlueEyes
08-24-2009, 08:18 AM
Stevie was crazy... good and bad.

That is exactly why whoever eventually plays her has to be someone that the viewer can feel sympathetic towards...it has to be someone who can portray Stevie, the good and the bad, in a way that leaves the viewers on her side...not because that's the way we want it to be but because that is the way it really is. Even with all the drama that has surrounded Stevie, all of the stories and rumors, she is beloved.

Only Steven Strait can play Lindsey (for the gazillionth time -- I don't see why this is still even up for discussion).

Reese Witherspoon would be terrible as Stevie. Reese has calcified into a shrill, ugly harpy on screen.

Not only does she have a passing resemblance physically, she has had her own share of demons and has sorted them out and moved on to a better place. Plus she also talks in that stoner Valley-speak lilt that Mama uses. With her pallid porcelain complexion and big brown eyes, I could definitely see her giving total zombie-face for the Klonopin years.

I am right with you on Barrymore. She's also a fairly decent singer, she sings in Music & Lyrics a little, however I'm not sure if she could get the husky sound of Stevie's voice. She's a better choice than Reese at any rate, I really can't see that working.

I suppose she could just smoke like fifty cigarettes before filming? ;)

This thread has made me paranoid. One of my best friends has always insisted I look like Drew Barrymore and speak like her (imagine a British accent speaking in her sort of tone... weird, I KNOW) and after reading this thread I turned and said to her, 'do you think I speak like a stoner?!?!'

When I first read that someday Stevie would like to do a movie on her incredible life, my first thought was who ever portray's Stevie would need to look like her in some way, or it would not work. IMO I think Delta Goodrem would be perfect to play that roll, she is a singer/songwriter, actress, plays piano, loves & respects Stevie, but most importantly she looks a lot like her around 83 era. Reese to portray Stevie would not be a great choice!!

You know what's weird? A while ago my partner and I were discussing who would play Stevie (I brought it up after first reading about Lindsay wanting to be Stevie in the movie) and my partner suggested Reese, but I didn't see it. I was like, What? Nah, she doesn't look like her, or sound much like her. But then after a while, I did see it and now I think she'd be a really good Stevie. And now Stevie herself as said so too. Pretty cool. (to my lame brain anyway, lol)

Personally, I don't think Stevie is a hyprocite for saying that stuff about Linsday. Stevie WAS a "party girl" in some ways, sure. But not really. Not in the same way Paris and Lindsay and all of them are these days. Stevie worked really hard the majority of the time. She didn't just do 3 months work and get paid $20 million for it and then spend the rest of the year doing nothing expecting appearing in tabloids for crashing cars and checking in and out of rehab 50 times. She DID go to rehab and that was it. It wasn't a revolving door kind of thing like some people these days.

Anyway, I also disagree with whoever said Reese is too innocent to play Stevie. Do you not think Stevie is innocent? I really do. Some of that innocence she definitely would've had back when she joined Fleetwood Mac has gone, understandably as she's much older now and has been through so much, but some of it remains. SHE remains, you know, her personality. Also, I don't even consider Reese innocent anyway.

OKay--I just read this. I am totally taking Stevie from you, Dani. Haha. Or we could draw straws, ha. I also already have my Stevie getup, complete with hair extensions. And I think I already have the "flakiness" aspect down, that we sometimes see, but love, from Stevie.

Think I might have to do battle with the demon for the Lindsey role! I think whoever plays Lindsey on screen is going to have an absolute ball. Lets face it, both him and Stevie have been downright terrible at times over the years...so to play someone who is unapologeitcally unlikebale for parts of his career would be an absolute joy. That siad, of course he's not a total **** so the complexity would be a great thing to try and pull off. A mad genius - who doesn't want to play that?!

If not, then ok, I'll go up for John. I think his dry British humour is sooo funny and pierces through all the diva-ness that Lindsey and Stevie brought on themselves. Just look at some of the withering glances he gives the pair of the in several documentaries. Priceless. The role could be a scene stealer....

I may not have been "nominated" for this, but come on, I'm definitely the weirdest person I know and that's saying something. And Stevie is probably the weirdest person she knows. Common link already!

Dani, Bryson and now Black_Moon.........sounds like a cat fight to me!

Dani and Black_Moon you'd be wise to sign a contract with me as Bryson did.

Sorry to butt in again, but does anyone think this girl looks a bit like a young Stevie and could play Stevie in a movie?

(It's Australian actress Isabel Lucas by the way. I'd recommend her for the role of Stevie more highly except she seems to have absolutely no personality in real life, and I don't know if she can sing. Also, her speaking voice sounds light and smooth, so that's wrong too. lol. But does anyone think she has a certain Stevie-esque look about her?)

If I'm going all Stevie-esque, it'll have to be something like,

I, Lucy Atkinson, would find it totally awesome as would all of the wood nymphs and moons and stars if I were to play Stevie in a biopic about her life ~

It would be like casting a dream. And we know how Stevie like dreams, she has many to sell.

OMG!!!
I knew i wasn't the only one who thought this...
She (Isabel Lucas) used to be on an aussie soap/drama called "home and away"
Then went off to do not much really...
I think she was in the last transformers movie???
But when i first became addicted to stevie i really thought she looked similar to her...
She has a kind of early stevie, hippie-ish style,
So i totally think your on to something...
But your also right that she sounds nothing like stevie...at all

Also: I don't think she can sing, otherwise she probs would have started a singing career lol (heaps of home and away stars have done this, it's kind of like a lauching pad to stardom, heath ledger started out on Home and Away)

Reese seems too innocent to me to play Stevie Nicks. The choice does give some interesting insights into Nicksie's self-perception, though.

I don't know about that. A lot of people attribute Reese as bubbly and not as serious but she's an AMAZING actress. The way she played June Carter Cash was so well done. She completely changed so much of herself to play that character and it was really believable. I think with the right prep, hair and make up it could work.

As for Lindsay Lohan, thank GOD Stevie said that. Yes, Stevie Nicks did party back in the day but times are SO different today. You certainly never saw pictures of Stevie Nicks getting out of limos with no panties on (what happened IN the limos may be a different story). It wasn't until the mid-late 80's where you CLEARLY saw a messed up Stevie Nicks. Earlier, she may have been high but she held it together. With Lindsay, every time I see her, she's MORE screwed up. Maybe it;'s just the times today with all the tabloids and paparazzi. JMO

And Drew Barrymore? For me, it's a no. I don't think she looks a THING like Stevie and even the way she speaks. I think she's a good actress but there's always been something about her speech that bothered me. It was too slow and drawn out....almost like she's slurring all the time.

First post!!! Has anyone else ever thought about Kate Hudson?

I just thought she was so great in Almost Famous, which is set in the early seventies. I think she would make an excellent White Album, Rumours, Tusk era Stevie... She kinda has that vibe about her which reminds me of Stevie.

Don't know if she could pull off the eighties Stevie though...

What I am wondering, though, is should whoever ends up playing Stevie be well known or unknown??? Casting someone well known would probably bring in a bigger audience but in terms of believability it might have to be someone that no one really knows anything about in order for her to "become" Stevie so that the audience sees Stevie not so-and-so playing Stevie.

This tv movie would be horrible probably, and I don't think it would do very well in the ratings. Those of us that love mac and these great artists may be blinded but I doubt your typical middle american watching a sunday night movie would care about mac and the drug days, wrong demographic for this story I think.

now a vh1 movie that may be ok,though the "behind the music" specials will always be the best and good documentaries are the best to watch.

I am not excited about this prospect of a movie at all, I would rather see stevies long awaited rhiannon on screen or stevies autobiography or lindseys if he kept any notes, which I doubt. did christine write anything down?

the fact that stevie keeps talking about these dull people, britney, lindsey even reese, is kind of depressing. she should be making movies, designing a fashion empire, making solo albums, putting out great music, writing her autobio,etc..

people like paris hilton, britney, and lindsey lohan are really not even worth talking about

I would much rather read Stevie's diaries if they were published also.I agree, I don't think Reese could play Stevie. She's got that weird one-point-direction thing going on that no matter what role she plays , she's kind of the same person. I was thinking about this thread the other day and a couple actresses popped into my head.Drew Barrymore was one them.It takes someone who can be serious, dramatic and silly when need be.Someone who also is a little wild yet is classy at the same time.
I think Alyssa Milano could pull it off.

Another actress that came to mind is Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's short too, 5'4".She sang in one or two episodes on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv series. She would have to wear contacts but she could probably pull it off.She also has that California girl thing going on.

Well, Alyssa would certainly endow the film with an appeal to heterosexual men it may not have otherwise. In my dream world, Stevie would star in her own goddamn movie. All the modern filming would be of her playing herself.... kinda The Notebook style or something like that. She's literally ACTING and we see her engage in fake conversations with people about her past, watch her play the piano by herself and write songs, watch her perform.... and it ends up being a 61-year-old woman's story of how incredible her life was with flashbacks of all the high quality footage we have and also don't have. I definitely think 1977-1980 Lindsey is beautiful, actually, any year Lindsey is beautiful. But when I first ever heard Fleetwood Mac, it was The Dance. So my first impression of Lindsey was when he was like 48 or 49. So, I'd say thats who I fell in love with, lol. And I absolutely think that Lindsey has gotten more sexy with his age. He's currently very hot to me.

And if we're talking about Stevie, I think Stevie has been amazingly hot at all ages, but particularly 1982 Stevie. I thought she was super pretty during Mirage AND, I think she is beautiful right now. My first impression of her was The Dance, also, so I love our Stevie that we have now. Reese is pretty good at the "not so innocent" characters. Just watch Freeway. I like when Reese plays off the wall parts instead of those cookie cutter romantic comedy characters.

With that said, I still can't see Reese as Stevie. I also DO NOT want to see Lindsay Lohan as Stevie. She is a horrible performer (watch her edge performance) and very awkward on stage. She wouldn't do performance scenes justice. I do think she is a good actress otherwise. Once upon a time I thought Scarlett Johansson would be a good Stevie, but I am not so sure now. I think they should find an unknown.

Overall, I agree with the poster that said they would rather Stevie write a book instead of creating a movie about her life.

Yeah, I was a bit like, 'Oh, and of course you stayed at home baking cakes inbetween 1975 - 1986.'

Good point. I love Stevie, but she does act like she never in her position once sometimes. The only difference is that the media wasn't showcasing Stevie's behavior 24/7. I don't care for Lindsay as much as I used to, but Stevie seems pretty hard on her sometimes. I guess Lindsay really pissed her off about this movie role. Or maybe it comes from Lindsay butchering EO17 and putting on a horrible performance at the AMA a couple of years ago lol.

Reese was on Letterman last night talking about her mother. She said a friend called her and told her that Stevie Nicks had dedicated a song to her mom at a show. So, Reese called her mother right away and the mother said, "I can't talk now, I'm at a Stevie Nicks concert."

She asked her mom how she even knew SN and the mom said that she met her on the plane and that Stevie sent her the tickets to the show.

David said his mother was not like that. Reese said that Dave's mother was very sweet. David said, "But my mother wouldn't be at a Stevie Nicks' concert."

I thought this too. I also thought, it would probably be the best idea for someone like Lindsay Lohan to play Stevie (even though I don't really care for LL) because a.) she is infatuated with Stevie to the point of stalkerish behavor and therefore, I think she would really lose herself in the role and might actually be quite good and b.) she has lived through much of the drugs and debauchery that Stevie has lived through. She gets the life. I think Stevie sees that, but still would rather have a "dedicated" and less tarnished actress play her. If she doesn't see the similarity between her own life and LL's then she is just a hypocrite plain and simple.

Can't see it. Not even with blonde hair. She's gorgeous and she can sing, but there's no Stevie vibe to her.

Really, I can't think of an actress who would fit the bill. Some of the actresses people have mentioned would pass, but no one is a dead ringer. Stevie is one of a kind! There's no one out there like her.

I don't think there is really anybody I can think of that should play Stevie. It should be a complete unknown. For singing capability and similarity of Stevie's early vocal style, I'd pick Jessie Baylin - and she also looks like Stevie circa 1974-1976, but that doesn't mean she could act the part. I like Reece, but don't feel she's the right pick for portraying Stevie Nicks in any film endeavor.

Ultimately, the right person is probably yet to be discovered.

I went to a golf tournament in Lake Tahoe once and on the way back I sat next to Bryant Gumbel. It was a small plane and, like a dummy, I was trying to stuff my carry on under the seat, which was no way big enough for it. And he was standing in the aisle waiting for me to finish and get in. Finally, I got wise enough to back out of the row and put the thing overhead, with a struggle. He didn't say anything rude like "hurry up" but he looked kind of quietly exasperated. We didn't share any conversation along the way back to LAX.

I actually used to see lots of celebrities on the plane, but I never sat next to anyone but him.

Stevie Nicks: Witherspoon's Too Old to Portray Me
By Robert Pace

Steve Nicks' alluring life filled with the many escapades she's endured as the lead vocalist of Fleetwood Mac and a solo artist urges to one day be adapted into a biopic. Nicks had originally tabbed Reese Witherspoon to play her on the big screen, but she is now repealing her as her selection.

"I've already told [Reese] she’s almost too old," Nicks told ET Canada at the Toronto premiere of her new documentary, In Your Dreams.

PICS: Exes Play Nice For Their Kids: Reese & Ryan + More

Although Nicks says in the documentary, which tracks the making of her 2011 album of the same name, that she wants the 37-year-old actress to represent her in a film, she appears to have second-guessed herself in the time that has passed.

"I love her, but she's like, 'I could play your mother.' I'm like 'O.K,'" the 64-year-old singer-songwriter said.

Witherspoon may not be the ideal age Nicks has in mind for her portrayer, but she has had a successful history with portraying musicians.

At 30, she won an Oscar, Golden Globe, and a SAG Award for portraying June Carter, singer and wife of Johnny Cash, in the 2005 biopic based on Cash's life, Walk the Line.

While Nicks' biopic is nothing more than a conceptualization at this point, her real life is on full display in her recently released documentary. Her producing partner and Eurythmics musician Dave Stewart originally suggested that Nicks film the process of recording her first solo studio album in 10 years.

The "Talk to Me" singer wasn't too keen on the filming at first, but eventually allowed it, assuming that it would be used for a personal keepsake later on. With that mindset, she was startled when the footage was used as a standalone documentary.

"I thought a few people would see it and love it and it would go back on the library shelf," she told ET Canada. "They say good things come to people who wait… I think good things come to people who don’t expect anything."

Perhaps Nicks wasn't expecting the footage to be developed into a documentary, but In Your Dreams isn't the first documentary based on an album production in which she was partaken.

A documentary called Destiny Rules, based on the recording of Fleetwood Mac's most recent album (Say You Will), was released in 2004.

She is trending on yahoo because of this comment. They are making it sound like Stevie is insulting Reese. One of the tabloids phrased the article as "The always gracious Stevie Nicks...." using sarcasm to call her rude. Really the comment was taken out of context. ugh this is not good. here is another article that i found about it. i can tell from the comments that people are going to make a big deal out of this.

Is Reese Witherspoon “too old” to play Stevie Nicks, as the catty 64-year-old Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter recently told ET Canada? Meow.

The remarks were allegedly made at the Toronto premiere of Nicks’ new documentary, In Your Dreams, which was produced with the help of husband and Eurythmics star Dave Stewart. It records the process of the once-popular Nicks making her first solo studio album in a decade.

I might have said 37-year-old Witherspoon was too classy to play the 70s rock icon who didn’t hold back from the drugs, sex, and messy relationships expected of a star of that era. However, it’s called acting for a reason. In 2005′s Walk the Line, she played a famous musician and wife of an even earlier time, June Carter Cash, to such acclaim that she earned an Oscar for Best Actress.

In any event, by Stevie Nicks’ own account, she apparently didn’t realize that the 70s were over until well into the 90s. In an interview in January, she confessed that her addiction to Klonopin is part of what drove Lindsey Buckingham to leave the band in 1987. But she didn’t quit the drug until a rehab stint in 1993, which included withdrawal symptoms so severe that she claimed that she nearly died.

Now, I’m not saying that ET Canada’s Michele Yeo has a mean streak, but she caught some pretty garbled comments coming out of Stevie Nicks’ mouth. Nicks said she already told Reese that she’s “almost” too old — as if that nasty little “almost” makes it all right — and then added:

“I love her, but she’s like, ‘I could play your mother, I’m like okay.”

Yeah, I’m like OK too. Did that even make any sense?

Apparently, Nicks is only calling Reese Witherspoon too old because Witherspoon allegedly said it first. Or maybe all that babble is a Klonopin flashback?

At this point, it isn’t clear if there will be a Stevie Nicks biopic starring Reese Witherspoon at all. But we could next see the Legally Blonde star in David Fincher’s Gone Girl.

I for one would love the idea of Witherspoon playing the perfect suburban thirysomething sociopath Amy, who plots to frame her husband for murder. Even Stevie Nicks couldn’t call Reese Witherspoon too old for that part.

^ What? That doesn't even make sense. That article is almost incomprehensible.

Stevie and Reese are friends. And it's true - Reese IS too old to play Stevie in a future biopic (assuming one is ever made, and assuming that it would be detailing the rise to fame etc). Stevie was 27 when she became a star, but she looked about 12. By the time this ever gets to being made Reese will be in her forties.

People making mountains out of molehills, as usual.

Stevie was 27 when she became a star, but she looked about 12.

Right and we'd probably get a flashback from when she and Lindsey met when she was 17. In fact, the movie would probably start there.

Of course, we could have two actresses play her and Reese could play Stevie around the Klonopin years, but if you had someone like Jennifer Lawrence, she could play Stevie all the way through.

Yes, I saw all the outlets picked up the comment and are making it seem like a jibe. All they want is for you to click.

Reese Witherspoon pulled her celebrity card out while her husband was getting arrested for DUI, telling the officer who ended up busting her, "You're about to find out who I am."

The arrests went down in Atlanta early Friday morning. Cops say they spotted Reese and her husband Jim Toth's car -- a silver Ford Fusion -- weaving in and out of lanes, so they pulled them over.

As officers dealt with Jim, Reese allegedly started acting up, telling cops, "Do you know my name?" The officer answered by saying, "No, I don't need to know your name."

Witherspoon then came back with, "You're about to find out who I am ... You are going to be on national news."

During Jim's arrest, Reese allegedly became ornery, demonstrating visual and verbal frustration over how long it was taking to arrest her husband. At one point, she got out of her car and the officer ordered her back inside. When she got out a second time, he arrested her for disorderly conduct, a municipal ordinance.

They were both taken to jail, booked, and released a short time later.

As for Toth's part of the arrest ... the officer in the report described him by saying his "eye lids were droopy" and his eyes were "blood shot and watery." The officer said he smelled a "strong odor" of alcohol coming from Toth.

The officer stated that Toth told him he only had one drink, but -- as first reported by Variety -- when given a Breathalyzer test, Toth's blood alcohol level was .139.

In Reese's defense maybe she played the celeb card because she had as much to drink as her hubby. Just sayin' ...

"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that was no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I am very sorry for my behavior."

I think Kristen Stewart is a decent actress, but I don't think she has a lot of range. Give her the right role and she can triumph in it, but I don't think she can change for a role. She has like a detached, unemotional demeanor that I don't see in Stevie. I was wondering about Jennifer Lawrence, who is so hot right now playing Stevie.

I think Jennifer could definitely pull Stevie off (I think she's a fantastic actress and something about her is magnetic in the same way that something about Stevie is), but she doesn't look anything like her and she's about 6 inches too tall. But half the time they don't care about the physicality that much anyway, so who knows.

If this movie had been made years ago, Brittany Murphy would have been perfect. Sadly not an option anymore.

Now that I think of it, the movie would just be so cut down and short and it would cover the basic stuff everyone already knows, and no matter who played the parts, they would all be ripped apart. I can't imagine anyone playing those parts, in the physical or the vibe, I will just cross my fingers that Stevie will write a book with lots of photos. Oh and I would like it to be over 1000 pages
