View Full Version : What is your favourite "Tusk" tour version of "Sara"?

Right, I'm sorry to request more of the Ledgies' good will. Here's how the story goes though.

"Sara" has been my favourite Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks song since the dawn of time - or mine at least ;) - but I have no live versions of it whatsoever. I only joined The Ledge just over a month ago. So, as I don't have any live versions of it, and I adore how Stevie performed it on the "Tusk" tour, would anyone be willing to post their favourite live version of it.

I'd be so grateful you wouldn't believe it.

Hi Lucy! I can't say that I have a favourite live version, but I'll have a looksy. As a start you might check out this thread from the Rumours section--there are oodles of files for download (demos, outtakes, live, etc). I know there are several Sara files.

For my money, the best one I've heard is on the 2-disc Fleetwood Mac Live release. I'm pretty sure it's the St Louis version with additional vocals recorded in post, so it's not exactly live. Still, I think it's the most beautiful version.

I love that version, Stevie sounds gorgeous on it. And she extends the end lyrics, which is why I love live versions of "Sara".

I've got the Hollywood Bowl one, the Chicago one, and the St. Louis one off this tour.

Sorry I don't have any info on it... it's off of the huge compilation called Dragons & Mirrors and all the info I have is "Sara (Live, 1980)" Ha sorry!

Nailatixela actually shared it on here back in January (I've been creepin' on the backlogs. :) )

Not sure where David's been hiding, but we definitely need him back in our lives on here!!

Okay, so I do have the Mobile '80 show, although I'm thinkin' it can't be the entire show. Either somehow I downloaded an incomplete show (which I hate doing so I can't imagine that I did) or the entire show isn't available.

I can't really describe how my Mobile show sounds -- kind of warbley, maybe? Kind of hard to explain... but yes, I could use a super clear quality of that "Rhiannon" please!!! That's what I want :)
