Just curious to see what you guys will choose, and for what reason..most comprehensive, best footage, etc...

I would have to say, having recently found a lot more of the outtake footage I'd never seen before, the Fleetwood Mac (Documentary & Live Concert) aka the Tusk doc, is my favorite to watch at the moment. I love how the interviews are set up, you're sort of taken into each artists isolated world, which I think really shows off the diversity of the songwriters in the band. I think it could've been a little longer, and from the Going Home doc footage of Lindsey recording in his house, it seems like there is probably a lot of cool footage unused. But other than that, I think the pacing is great, mixing up the tour footage with the recording, interviews, random stuff...
Destiny Rules is great, but some of the drama king/queen stuff is just too annoying to watch.
What's your favorite?

This is a hard question, because I like all of them for very different reasons. Although I've been obsessed with the Tusk Doc lately (and with good reason), I think my favorite is Destiny Rules. I just love the process it takes you through-- not only does it showcase the making of the album in all the technical aspects, but there is so much subtle emotion throughout the entire documentary that really reminds us that the making of Say You Will was the REAL reunion of the band. A greatest hits tour is one thing, but creating an entire new album together after so many years of distaste is the true accomplishment. Plus, we all know how emotional it was for them to make Rumours-- it must have always been difficult to walk into the studio every day after going through that in Sausalito, despite how many years have passed from those days in 1976. Plus, there's some hilarious moments out of La Nicks to enjoy :)

The Tusk doc! Rosebud, too, if that really counts as a documentary.

I've only watched DR once. It was right after I got it. The only part I really liked was the singing fish.

My favorite is the Disney documentary from '93, Going Home I think it's called. That was a really interesting doc that showed a lot of great clips and concert footage from throughout the years.

"Going Home" had some excellent footage in the early part but skidded to a stop when it hit 1982. From that point on, it relied solely on footage from the commercially released concert videos & just died on the vine.

My favorite doc is the 20/20 episode from ABC in 1980. It's filled with great footage: Fleetwood Mac in concert in Cleveland, traveling on tour, picking up their 1978 Grammy, press conferences, Stevie Nicks on piano, and several then-new interviews. It was colorful & exciting for us Macheads who watched it air on TV (airing after an especially distasteful installment on seal-clubbing & factory-farming).

I also like the "Rocksteady" doc from British TV in 1990 -- rehearsing for the tour in Burbank, very candid interviews with surprising revelations, and decent history.

There have also been a couple of great short profiles of the band on TV over the years, including a "2 on the Town" featuring the band riding to the stage at the US Festival in golf carts, rehearsing "Hold Me," onstage US Festival performances of "Rhiannon" & other songs, & good interviews.

Would traders have "Going Home" and the 20/20 episode? I need them, apparently.

Cool seeing all of your all's opinions. The only one I own is DR, so I'd have to say that.... but MAN would I love to own the Tusk one.... is that sucker online somewhere?

I love most of them, but Destiny Rules is simply fantastic. My only obvious complaint is it is sans Christine. Otherwise, it's well edited, very candid, and sobering.

The Tusk Documentary is number one on my list.
Makes me sick to think of all the film that remains unreleased.

The Rosebud, Rumours Outtakes would have to be second.
At 3 1/2 hours, there's some good stuff on there, at least
for the die-hards.

Destiny Rules, not very exciting after one viewing. But I'm
very glad they decided to document this.

Going Home, pretty cool. Recorded this off the Disney Channel
in 1996.

Mick's documentary "Two Sticks and a Drum" (title?). It's worth it
just to see Stevie do her little hula dance.

Oh......I'm not sure where I'd put it on the list, but Lindsey's documentary
that was featured on "Live at Bass Hall" was pretty cool too.

My God - I haven't heard of any of these! How is that possible? Does anyone have copies they'd be willing to burn/trade for me? pm me with information. Of course I'm happy to reimburse any costs. Postage/dvds etc.

I just re-watched Classic Albums: Rumours. I'd forgotten how good it was. I don't think I've ever seen John talk so much. It was refreshing. Ken and Richard's contributions about how the songs were put together, and the "bag" story should give a good indication of what Ken's book will be like. Also for those of you wanting to see the inside of the Sausilito Record Plant, here's your chance! Plus Lindsey isolating Stevie's GDW wails/screams and then making the comment about them all being "under duress" in a perfect deadpan voice was very funny. I don't know if it's my favorite (probably still the Tusk Doc), but it moved up a few spots.

I'm very curious if anyone knows where to get the best quality copy of the ROSEBUD promo film? I've purchased a few from eBay that were not that great. One even had the title "a film by Rosebud" blacked out digitally.

I read on the following website that a DVD called "Rumours: Behind the Scenes vol. 1 & vol. 2" contain the highest quality known of Rosebud.

http://www.angelfire.com/mac2/nickslive/video.html

Does anyone have this? Does anyone know the source of it and if they are still making copies of their high quality source?

How does it compare to this clip I found on YouTube from a British show - which has the highest contrast I've ever seen of "Rhiannon". You can actually see people backstage behind Lindsey and Christine.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtPyk8_onO8

I'd love to find the DEFINITIVE copy of Rosebud.

I haven't seen many FM docs (I saw the Classic Albums for Rumours on VH1 Classi and TBH, I was a bit bored by it, and I'm yet to see Destiny Rules), but if I had to pick, I'd definitely go with Tusk doc. The performances are killer (especially Angel), the inbetween bits are interesting, and I only wish it was a tiny bit longer. Close second has gotta be Rosebud.

BTW, can someone show me this Rumours backstage footage?

I think I saw a few bits of Destiny Rules and it didn't really seem that interesting to me, but Tusk does rule (the doc that is, but the album is awesome too). It seems like it's the perfect balance of talking and performing, and both are very well-done.

I personally wish Rosebud was a bit longer and threw in a performance of The Chain. That's one of my fave FM songs and I bet it would been great there. That aside, Rosebud has, hands down, the best performance of Rhiannon I ever heard. No matter how many times I see it, Stevie never fails to blow me away during the last few minutes.

I think I just saw some Rumours tour backstage footage from Japan and while the best part was seeing Lindsey walking around without a shirt on, it was funny, entertaining stuff.

BTW, I found a bit of it, but do you have any idea what Mick and Christine are picking on Lindsey about starting at about 1:06?

Lindsey collapsed in the shower at some point in the Tour. He had mono, or an epileptic siesure or something along those lines. I forget what it was. Anyhoo they had to cancel a show or two because of it.

So when this was filmed Lindsey was complaining how tired he was 'cause the band had done 98 shows and he wanted a vacation. It was eight o'clock at night and he was bitchy because he was hungry and tired. Did you hear him say he hadn't eaten anything that day since breakfast?

So Mick and Christine joked with him that he "already" took time off(when he was sick) and he was not gonna weasel his way out of this leg of the tour. Then Chris joked they would schedule a show in some obscure town in Wisconsin on New Years eve just to rile Lindsey up some more.

I recall reading about him having a seizure in CAH's book, but she made it sound a lot more dramatic than that he collapsed in the shower (she had him convulsing on the floor and whatnot). Goes to show how truthful it is, but that's for another time.

It was a bit fuzzy in terms of sound, but I think I heard the breakfast part (and Mick doing an impression of him saying that with a towel for some odd reason), but this was pretty funny stuff. Just wish we got more shirtless Lindsey and less shirtless Mick lol.

Speaking of Lindsey, Mick, and funny backstage footage, watch this from 6:10 to 6:17 at take a look at what Mick does.

OK, basically Mick seems to see something, gets excited, and starts pointing at it, whatever it is. It just looks funny cause it just seems to come out of thin air (but then again, I've been a bit loopy in the mind with my laryngitis anf finals, so please bear with me if I say anything stupid).
