Two things:
1. Doestrevsky. YES.
2. "write a great feminist 'screw you' song". Perfect.
Oh and I adore Genie. I'm sure you've seen Family Jewels? It's amazing.

Haha you like Doestrevsky and Stevie- we should be bfflz xD
yeah, Gene is like the coolest dude ever. Family Jewels is an awesome show- and Nick is wicked crush-worthy
ok the DNA- at the Vampire Weekend concert, Ezra Koenig was using a white towel to wipe his face with a majority of the night. Half way through, I said to my mom 'i want his DNA'. At the end of the night when the roadies were giving out set lists (I was in the 3rd row) I went up and asked for the towel. It was thrown to me, some guy tried to take it bu let me have it, and after smelling it, when I got home I put it in a baggy and into my freezer. My mom hates that it's taking up space, but i'm not ever until I have the means to do what needs to be done. Between the sweat and saliva, there has to be SOME DNA on it. Lol. It's so sad, but I don't even care - he is one of the most perfect guys I've seen in person :D

HAHAHAHA wait, I totally love that. I'm obsessed with Vampire Weekend so I totally understand what you're saying. That's what I would do if I had a sweaty Lindsey towel... or Hugh Laurie, or my English teacher....
Trust me, I oh so understand.

I agree so much it may be scarry ;)
not only are the older men more attractive generally, being more mature than 90% + of teenaged boys just makes things difficult.
Oh and Chilli- my grandparents did the 50 states, it really is an amazing thing

The problem is that once I turned 17, I actually started acting on this obsession... that's when it got really scary :)
It's gotten to the point where I've dated one person in the last two years who is under 18. I did it to prove to myself that I DO have the capacity to date within my own age range.... it failed.
Moral of the story: we are a step ahead of the game Christine :)

I may or may not have heard a boy trying to seek out cocaine the other night by asking anyone he saw if they could hook him up with a little Lindsay Lohan.
I know Lindsay's made some bad choices, but that's kind of why I like her. She has two complete jerks for parents who have been riding her gravy train since she was a little girl with no thoughts towards her other than when the next paycheck or connection would come--it isn't hard to imagine how she got into drugs and partying. She's a brave girl who isn't afraid to live her life the way she chooses, though, and she's trying to get better every day. I think she's admirable.

I want to meet and chat with any of the apollo astronauts, though Jim Lovell and Michael Collins sound like the best story tellers. I bet they're so sick of telling the story but I'd just love to chat in general. It would be weird having a conversation where the other person has experienced that. I heard about a friend of Aldrin's telling him about their trip to Italy and him being fascinated cause he'd never been. They wondered how he could be fascinated by that when he'd bbeen to the moon but I guess what's different to you is most interesting.

Haha, yep it's on good ol' Franky! I have to admit, when I first read, errr skimmed through, it in high school, I didn't like it.
Now well into college, I really like it. I just think it was an age thing. I actually "get" it now. I think I've listened to Stevie's BATB for like 195939 times the past week hahaha I think it relates quite nicely!

things I can grab from where I am sitting: My BlackBerry, toy robot, recent issue of the New Yorker, my Kindle, my beloved velvet Jesus con 18 Wheeler painting (yes, it's bolted to the wall, but I can reach out and touch it and it's the largest thing in front of my face, haha)
things I want to do before I die: Find out exactly how bizarre Japan really is firsthand, stay in one of those treehouse hotels, pull off the writers' retreat I dream of organizing, go to Tom Savini's Special Effects Makeup school, cross everyone off of my "musicians to see live before I die" list
people I want to meet (besides the folk of Fleetwood Mac, since that's pretty much a given): Warren Ellis (the musician, not the writer, though the writer is cool), Takashi Miike, Stephen King, Leonard Cohen, Tori Amos

That is very cool! How do you (kind of) know her if you don't mind me asking? Like the list in friends about 5 celebritites...she's been top of mine since Torn. The real bonus is that her albums are great too! White Liles Island especially, a criminally underrated record. Anyone reading this thread should check the album out and see just how talented she is.
I'm excited about her new album in October, and not only because it means I get to see more of her on tv looking hot!

Yes, Michael Keaton must pkay Batman again! The first 2 of the 80/90s Batman movies are great, and not just because Michelle Pfeiffer is in a catsuit although that is a definite bonus... Let us not speak of the 4th one.

Oh I said kind of because I've met her twice I think at general social evenings, we have mutual friends I guess. So like we'd say hello if we saw each other in the street but I don't know her on any personal level. I love her ex Daniel Johns cause I love silverchair but I wasn't going to ask her anything about him. She's really really nice though when I've met her. I'm from Scotland originally but lived in London for a while after school and university finished and I basically hung around the people I knew from before which includes a lot of those socialite types. I don't really get that scene and felt kind of out of place (which is why I jumped at the chance to come to Aussie with my bf) but that was when I "kind of" knew her ;) She was nice though, not stuck up like a lot of those people.

Hurrah! I'm in Scotland too and do plan to move to Oz once I finish studying because there are quite afew jobs over there for me. I always thought she seemed really nice and genuine so I'm very pleased about this!
