Sky Ferreira - Stand Back.mp3
http://www.mediafire.com/?rftntnlnmy2
This fall, 16-year-old Sky Ferreira will record her debut album with hit-making production/songwriting duo Bloodshy & Avant, 2004 Grammy-winners for Best Dance Recording ( Britney Spears,"Toxic"). Based in Sweden, the duo has also worked with Madonna ("Confessions on a Dancefloor"), Kylie Minogue ("X") and continues to work with Spears (the singles: "Me Against the Music, "Piece of Me," "Radar"). Ferreira's debut will appear on the Bloody & Avant's new label Ändersson and will be distributed by EMI. Ferreira recently filmed the indie-film "Metal Gods" and contributed vocals to a new remix o "Teen Lovers" by indie rock trio The Virgins.
This cover of Stand Back - which was recorded a few months ago - was produced by Skeet & Tito. No word on a commercial single release or if it will appear on her debut.
My review: A detached, passionless vocal - which could work if someone like Ladyhawke provided vocals and a new arrangement - and a bland, entirely-programmed musical backdrop.
