I know we all spend time trying to figure who and what Stevie's songs are about......but what songs/or lyrics are about her??? I was going to limit this to just Lindsey songs .....but I decided not to. It was interesting to hear about some of Don Henley's songs in an earlier thread that pertained to Stevie.
So....what do you think?

I havent given it too much thought yet, but here goes:
a couple of the obvious:
1.Go Your Own Way
2. Second Hand News

Alot off of Tusk:
1. What makes you think your the one?
2. I know I'm not wrong
3. Not that funny

Others:
1. Say Goodbye
2. Don't Come Around Here No More (Tom Petty)

Being a Rick Vito fan, it's not surprising the first one that comes to my mind is Rick's song "Desiree" from his King of Hearts album. Most definitely about Stevie -- and she even sang it with him!

Somebody's gotta dissect all the Eagles stuff.... But I can take a few swings at FM.

"Witchy Woman" has got to be about Stevie:

"She's a restless spirit on an endless flight"
^She runs around like a spirit in flight!

"She drove herself to madness
with a silver spoon"
^She's a gold dust woman.

"Witchy woman... she got the moon in her eye"
^Black moons in those eyes of hers.

Pretty much all the lyrics could describe her. (Besides the "Raven hair" one)

Hey, thanks!

I'm also really into the Eagles and I kind of put that together after I found out that Stevie & Don Henley dated.
The lyrics just fit Stevie SO well! (Except, of course that she isn't really a witch... haha)

Guys... that song was written pre-1972.

I'm really upset that there's no way its about her.

"Witchy Woman" was released in 1972. Isn't that too early to be about Stevie? I do agree though, it fits perfectly. I remember my mom always saying that "Life in the Fast Lane" by the Eagles from 1976 was about Stevie & Lindsey.

THAT I believe. "Witchy Woman", I am sad to say, doesn't make sense chronologically.

Thought of another, Walter Egan's "Magnet & Steel". Perfect song.

Years ago when I was involved in an Eagles forum there was some suggestion that the line in Hotel California

"She's got lots of pretty pretty boys that she calls friends" was about Stevie.

Although lets just assume the whole album of Hotel California was about Stevie and in the end Don just considered it "Wasted Time" :)

I've always though that "Miss Ghost" off Don's solo album could almost have been about Stevie. Don't ask my why...

Hi Guys. First post!

Similarly to 'Witchy Woman' being written years previously, I always felt that Elton Johns 'Tiny Dancer' could've been about Stevie!

Cheers,Glenn

I love the title. Can you post this song?

Sadly not as it is still commercially available and I don't want to get in trouble again. I'm sure you could find it on iTunes etc though?

Hate to dissapoint ya'all, but Don has said, the only Eagles song about Stevie is One of these nights. and when they started dating, he sent her a bouqet of Roses, with a card saying that as well, and had his private jet pick her up while on the Tusk tour for them to meet. The rest is history...

Hmm. I find this also hard to believe. 'One Of These Nights' was written in '75 maybe
'74. I believe Henley and Nicks didn't start dating 'till '77! The chronology is all wrong! Sorry:shrug:

There are always arguments made back and forth that Life in the Fast Lane is about Stevie and Lindsey. I like to believe it was. Then again, I also like to convince myself that Castaway Dreams is completely about Stevie so eh ;)

Weren't the roses the ones that Mick and John sent pretending to be Henley?

Unless Don Henley knew Stevie when she was in Fritz (which I seriously doubt), this song is NOT about her. It was released in 1971 and probably written much earlier than that...LONG TIME before they ever met.

Sorry to pop your little fantasy bubble, but it's time for a reality check.

Alright, alright, calm down.
I only said it once and haven't said anything else about it since.

Obviously it wasn't written about her.
Maybe part of her whole 'persona' came from the song though... just sayin'.
