View Full Version : Pushing Daisies
The show was cancelled, but starting tonight on ABC @ 10 p.m. ET, they are showing the last three episodes. I really liked this show & was sad to see it cancelled. Another show that I'm not happy about ABC cancelling was Samantha Who? & I think they have some episodes of this left. I don't know when or if they will ever show them.

I'm not familiar with this band, but it got me to thinking of the unusual differences in idioms among various languages.
In English, for example, we say "pushing up daisies" to mean the guy is dead. But the French say "manger les pissenlits par la racine" -- "eating dandelions by the roots."
Well, it's actually a TV show. And it does have something to do with the dead. The guy in the show can bring people back from the dead by touching them which he uses in investigations of their death. He has a minute to question them & then he touches them again & they go back to being dead. Any longer than a minute, & they will stay alive which he did with his girlfriend who he just couldn't leave dead. But they can never touch or kiss or she'll be dead again. He also brought his dog back from the dead & he can't touch him or pet him or he'll die again. So he'll use a fake hand & arm to pet him. And if the dead come back to life, then someone else will have to die in his or her place. I know, it was a weird & quirky show, but in a good way & very funny.

I love this show! It's what I imagine Dr. Seuss would write for grown-ups. Plus, you have a murder mystery every episode and an Okie that plays one of the main characters. I was so upset when I read it was getting the axe. Damn you, ABC!
Thanks for giving the heads up on the last three episodes. I'm gad they're going to show them instead of just sitting on them or only putting them online, like was rumored.

This show was so great. The production values alone were worth the watch. I'm so glad to see it' s back at least for a couple of weeks. I will miss this show. I loved Samantha Who too. What is up with these networks cancelling good shows? I never missed Sarah Conner Chronicles and now I heard it's canelled too.
