Not sure if anyone has seen this yet but I thought I'd share this ridiculous story. A high school band in Atlantic City started a major stir when they segued into Another Brick in the Wall during a school concert. Seriously, school administrators are STILL going overboard on stuff like this?

Those damn kids these days and their anti establishment thirty year old music!

I totally agreed with you until I read the article. I'm glad someone pulled the plug on those kids.

Why? They're kids... and they played a song. It wasen't even really all that bad. No cursing... What's the big deal?
I agree, this story's rediculous.

The school totally overreacted, IMO. These were just a bunch of kids having some harmless fun.

Wow, that is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not down with the phallus symbol for the flag, but the Pink Floyd thing is insane.

(EDIT: Phallic, not phallus :roll eyes: )

It's just hard to believe that this stuff still happens. It's the kind of thing you'd imagine school administrators doing in 1980, not 2009. Leave those kids alone indeed. I wonder if Roger Water's camp has gotten this info yet - love to hear his thoughts on something so ridiculous and sooooo ironic.

I guess I shouldn't be too shocked though. I graduated HS in 1998 and at the graduation ceremony, someone started beach balls going around (in fact, all of the students graduating were in the lower section of the auditorium and it seemed the beach balls game from the balcony). The Assistant Principal at the time stopped the ceremony saying something to the effect of "we'll sit here waiting until the balls are put away." So, about 1200 people, in an un-airconditioned auditorium with cramped seats, and temperatures outside hovering around 85 degrees, being scolded for beach balls being bounced around. Next thing you know, all of the PARENTS are booing this guy until he basically walks back to his seat appearing somewhat shamed.

My friend's daughter's class ('07) wasn't allowed to play Imagine during their graduation as they wanted to.

I can understand it was a joke, but the school overreacted,if the studend give out a disclaimer before the show I would not been a big deal.I can see a senior gal dressed up like Stevie singing Sometime its a Beach onstage and geting toss out.The Beach word would not go over well.

God forbid they be free thinkers. I guess those kids can go away knowing they are more intelligent than the teachers.
