A couple of months ago, NJ radio station WNTI (Greg Lewis's Rock-It Science show) had a 2-hour 'Spotlight' on Rick Vito and his music. I wasn't able to catch it that night, but I found Greg's downloads of that show at the Blindman's Blues Forum (in two 1-hour segments). The interview is near the beginning of the first hour, and the rest of the show is all music of Rick's over the years. They play a lot of Blue Again, plus a variety from his other releases.
My favorite gem here is from 1977 -- a smokin' live performance with Roger McGuinn's Thunderbyrd. The song is McGuinn's Byrds song Lover of the Bayou, with Rick just tearing it up (as Greg Lewis so aptly said) on lead guitar. It's just past the 30 minute mark of the second hour. It's followed by a track from Mayall's No More Interviews.
Here's the playlist for the whole show:
Knock Me Down, Rick Vito, King Of Hearts
Black Magic Woman, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito, Blue Again
A live phone chat with Rick Vito from his Hawaii home
The Supernatural, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito, Blue Again
Looking For Somebody, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito, Blue Again
I Loved Another Woman, Rick Vito, Pink And Black
No Love In The City, Rick Vito, Crazy Cool
Directly From My Heart To You, Rick Vito, Talk That Talk
Stop Messin Around, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito, Blue Again
The Ways Of Sin, Rick Vito, Band Box Boogie
World On Fire, Rick Vito, Lucky Devils
Rollin Man/Bayou Queen, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito, Blue Again
Lover Of The Bayou, Roger McGuinn's Thunderbyrd, Three Byrds Land In London
A Wild New Lover, John Mayall, No More Interviews
Like A Rock , Bob Seger, Like A Rock
Hole In My Shoe, Rick Vito, Rattlesnake Shake.
Albatross, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito, Blue Again
What a playlist ! If anyone's interested, here's the forum where you can find the downloads:
