Dodfather's thread inspired me to come up with this little "fantasy" game.
So let's say your phone rings, and it's Stevie. She tells you that she has decided to retire tomorrow, and she needs you to work with her on a retrospective that would cover her entire solo career and that would represent everything she has done on all 10 of her solo releases in the U.S. She says she wants to release an 18-song retrospective that must include at least one song from each of her 10 solo releases, and it cannot be any Fleetwood Mac songs. Of coarse, you agree, but the hard part is, how do you make this an interesting album without retreading old ground and without forgetting to include something from each one of her solo albums? Well, that is up to you! The albums, as we know, are: Bella Donna, Wild Heart, Rock a Little, Other Side of the Mirror, TimeSpace, Street Angel, Enchanted, Trouble in Shangri-La, Crystal Visions and Soundstage Sessions.
My track list is:
1. Bella Donna
2. Edge of Seventeen (live with the Melbourne Symphony)
3. Planets of the Universe
4. Alice
5. After the Glitter Fades
6. Wild Heart
7. No Spoken Word
8. Nothing Ever Changes
9. The Nightmare
10. Desert Angel
11. Greta
12. Long Way To Go
13. Free Fallin'
14. Long Distance Winner
15. Crash into Me
16. Reconsider Me
17. Rock and Roll (live)
18. Trouble in Shangri-La
What's yours?

Replace Free Fallin' with Gold and Braid and I think that Stand Back should replace either Nothing Ever Changes or The Nightmare.
If it's a true retrospective them surely it should have some of her biggest hits on it as well as album tracks? Not too many certainly but definitely a couple?
What do you think?

I'd remind her that she just put out Crystal Visions, and insist she retire with a studio album! ;)

I recently made a similar mix for my wife who had never heard of Stevie before she met me (impossible, but true. she is not from this country), so I already had such a list which included FM, and BN. I substituted the FM with more solo material, and threw in a couple of bonus tracks as well since all repackaged material is sold that way now.
1. Enchanted
2. Sorcerer
3. Beauty and the Beast (Soundstage)
4. Sleeping Angel
5. Long Distance Winner
6. No Spoken Word
7. Listen to the Rain
8. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
9. Long Way to Go
10.Sometimes It's a Bitch
11.Stand Back
12.I Sing For the Things
13.Fall From Grace
14.Kind of Woman
15.If You Ever Did Believe
16.Blue Lamp
17.Rock and Roll (Crystal Visions)
18.Edge of Seventeen (Live) (Crystal Visions)
Bonus Tracks:
19.At Last (Stormy Weather)
20.Garbo (Recorded live during the Enchanted Tour 1998)

I would tell her "good idea". Then I would tell her to omit everything from Rock A Little, The Other Side Of The Mirror, & Street Angel because her fans don't like those songs anyway. Then I would convince her to use the same songs that she used on Crystal Visions, but mix up the order so the fans will think it's something "new".

If you only cursed every three words, I would have thought you're Lyor Cohen.

I'd say let's go in a different direction. I'd tell her to find her best demos, the
songs she considers stolen from her. And go into a studio and record them.
Somewhere she's never recorded before, new producer, new backup singers
and without Waddy. Let her get out of her comfort zone. And no
tampering with her voice, no voice processors on any studio tricks. Just
Stevie, a microphone, mixing board and straight to tape.
Choose about 14 of her best unreleased songs. And make a deluxe package
available with a second disc featuring the original demo tape versions.
Title it............Breaking My Own Heart, The Stolen Soul of Stevie Nicks.
