"Has anyone ever spent $3.99 for you? Well, I have."
So I broke down and bought the current issue of People Magazine, just because I'm kind of falling behind on my Photobucket upkeep. Normally, I'd only buy People if someone pointed a gun in my face, but what the hell, it had STEVIE in it. Since I haven't seen any high resolution scans from this issue, I figured I'd do it myself. Unfortunately, due to People's printing quality, these pictures look a little fuzzy, but at least I didn't get those bizarre yellow stripes like when I scanned the OSOTM tourbook.

So, hilarious. Thanks for the scans. I had the magazine, but my HP all-in-ones have both suffered nervous break downs. You can get them to scan eventually, but it's a complicated procedure, requiring a commitment that I often lack. One machine was messed up by Vista and the new driver. I don't know what made the other one (still on XP) freak out, but there you have it. Had to rely on the kindness of sorta savage strangers to get that on my computer.

Yep, I bought one too. Didn't care how much it cost since my hubby was paying for it:laugh: I don't buy magazines but he did give me a  look when I put People on top of our groceries at the store. All he said was "Stevie Nicks?":laugh::thumbsup:
He knows me so well:rolleyes:

Meh, I tried my best to blend this a little bit in GIMP (which I'm new to). I must say that I don't think it helped at all. Oh well. And I only blended Stevie, her dress, and her Yorkie. I didn't pay any attention to the background or the writing. Perhaps someone with photoshop could do better...?

I'm loving the red. Has anyone else noticed (SOTB) that Stevie is done with the padding and hiking the girls up? I think she looks great with her more natural shape.

That picture looks more lounge-around-the-house natural than some of the stage photos. I don't think she's entirely done with bustier magic.

To me, it looks as if People Magazine photoshopped her face/cheeks?

Do they look different to you? lol. I never noticed... They'd have to be hanging down to her <s>Frankenbocks</s> boots for me to notice.

Totally agree. Stevie looks really weird in that shot. Her chin is long and pointy. The smile is "off". It doesn't even look like her. Could be from the scanning though.

It was definitely photoshopped. I don't like the picture just for that very reason. It makes her face look oddly shaped.

There is no article; it's a pictorial. So, the scans here show the whole thing.

Well, except for that gawdawful picture of her with Michael Jackson at the Clinton inauguration.
In case you didn't know, Stevie was really in Phoenix at the time, and Neal Preston was never there.

After seeing her at B&N and the Lifebeat thing (I was all of 3 feet away from her) she definitely does not need to be airbrushed.

I will never forget my absolute shock at her appearance for the inauguration. I hadn't seen her in a long time and was so horrified for her. The radio stations had a field day after that- making fun of her weight. :(
Anyway, I can see why you didn't scan it.

Here's the text from the magazine:
MY LIFE IN PICTURES ... STEVIE NICKS People May 4, 2009
After years of sex, drugs and rock and roll, Stevie Nicks has no shortage of tales to tell. "My mom feels she lost her child for many years," says Nicks, 60, who battled addictions to cocaine and Klonopin. "I got through difficult times that could have destroyed [my career]." Now back touring with Fleetwood Mac and promoting her Live in Chicago DVD and The Soundstage Sessions album, she sat down with PEOPLE's Joey Bartolomeo. "I'm excited," she says, "about the cool things I have yet to do," like exhibiting her personal drawings and "searching for that perfect pair of suede boots" (lower than her usual seven inches). Says Nicks: "I am never retiring."
BOX STORY:
"I told [the band], 'This is the President of the United States. He wants us there. We're going.' We sang 'Don't Stop' and it was great"
GRAPHIC: PHOTO: NEAL PRESTON HAIR & MAKEUP: EILYNN CHAPMAN; 2009 A 40-year veteran of the music biz, Nicks (with her Yorkie Chinese crested mix in New York City) calls Fleetwood Mac's 1998 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction "my greatest honor."
PHOTO: NEAL PRESTON/CORBIS; 1976 A year earlier Nicks (in glasses) and Buckingham, whom she met in high school, joined Fleetwood Mac (from left: John McVie, Christine McVie, Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood). "We hired a business management firm, then partied hard," she says.
PHOTO: COURTESY STEVIE NICKS; 1950 "My dad was so handsome," says Nicks of her late father, Jess (with cat Nickie). After her parents bought her a guitar for her 15th birthday, she told them, "I'm going to be a songwriter, I'm going to be a singer." They believed her, but insisted on one rule: "You have to go to school."
PHOTO: SETH POPPEL YEARBOOK LIBRARY; 1966 Nicks's mom, Barbara, made this dress for her senior prom in San Francisco, where she was five votes short of being prom queen. Her date, David Young, "was the best boyfriend ever," says Nicks. "He was gorgeous, he was the quarterback, and I went out with him for almost five years. I broke up with him for Lindsey [Buckingham]."
PHOTO: NEAL PRESTON; 1983 "I only wore black with Fleetwood Mac, so I thought, 'I will only wear white,'" says Nicks of her style during her years as a solo artist.
PHOTO: AFP/GETTY IMAGES; 1993 Both Fleetwood Mac and Michael Jackson sang at Bill Clinton's inauguration in D.C. Before the event Jackson sent Nicks a message asking for a light shade of foundation. "I sent my lightest ivory color," she says. "He sent it back with a lovely note saying, 'This is too dark. Thank you.'"
PHOTO: FRANK W. OCKENFELS 3/CORBIS OUTLINE; 2002 The legend hasn't had kids of her own, but is close to her niece Jessi (right, in Phoenix), whose mom sings backup for Nicks. "Jessi wants to be a hairstylist and makeup artist," says Nicks. "It would be good to have one in the family we could all tour together."
PHOTO: HERBERT WORTHINGTON; 1983 Nicks dated rocker Joe Walsh, "the great, great love of my life," for about two years. "There was nothing more important than Joe Walsh not my music, not my songs, not anything," she says. But cocaine ruined the romance. "We had to break up or we thought we'd die. It took me years to get over it. It's very sad, but at least we survived."
PHOTO: 1973 "This was not a good experience. I didn't want to take my top off. Lindsey and the photographers were like, 'Don't be a child. This is artistic?'"
