Tonight was great! So if you read some of my other posts I've been freaking out over not having tickets yet, but I took a chance and waited till we got to the venue. Walked right up to the box office and got 2 2nd row aisle seats!!:blob1:
Could not believe it! I've had front row several times but never gone to a show without tickets in hand.
We had one small problem though, my friend that was coming to the show that is a member of The Ledge, Storms 2-Stephanie never showed. I had bought her a 3rd row seat and she was going to pay me back and she never showed. I'm worried and pissed because I might be out of $171 if she doesn't ever get back to me. But anyways.....
The show was great!! We stood at the stage on Lindsey's side the entire night. High fives from Lindsey all night, I got a little Stevie love at the end. Sort of, I think she was telling me to be quiet during Mick's farewell speech.
Everyone was on point tonight. Lindsey ran the show for sure and Stevie was very playful. And I might add her voice was dead on.
One thing I am glad I did for this tour is not read many reviews or watch any videos. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear Go Insane in its original form. Oh Well was amazing. I really enjoyed rocking out to that one.
Gold Dust Woman was great and Stevie wailed on it as well as Stand Back. I loved how towards the end the band stopped and she counted them back in. Very cool!
Sara was heavenly.
Silver Springs was perfect. Stevie really gave her all.
I'm So Afraid was its usual orgasmic self.
And the song I was most looking forward to...Storms was everything I thought it would be. Gorgeous, heartbreaking, nostalgic, touching....
Overall, the night was magical and I'm so glad my boyfriend Larry went with me. He saw Stevie in Holmdel on the Street Angel tour and then saw FM but when Dave Mason and Bekka were with him. So I'm glad he got to see the magic between these four people.
Thank you Mick, John, Stevie and Lindsey for another unforgetable night.:xoxo:

Oh and I've got video and pictures I will post tomorrow.

I'm just going to post a little bit before bed, because I'm tired.

I have to say, this was the best Fleetwood Mac concert I've been to - I've been to 6, now 7..and this was the best. I've read all the reviews, seen all the pics, watched the Youtube videos. I've even complained of Stevie's lack of energy, yadayada...but when you're at the show, it's not evident at all..atleast not tonight in Atlanta!

* Sure her face shows some age and tiredness, but LaNicks was rockin! I must say the highlight of the entire show was Gold Dust Woman..she went for EVERY note, and they lasted a long time..."she's a dragggggggggonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!" "put your kingdom up for sallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!" It was all so great, and in the end of the song when she puts her cape up she was doing this really cool move, like she would go lower and lower as the drums would fade, it was truly awesome..she was really into it.
* Stand Back was also great. She had a lot of energy, the twirls were great..She changed up the lyrics and sang "she said take it all!!!!" I loved that little change.
* The crowd was really into the show. The floor pretty much stood and danced the entire night. At first I was a little worried about the capacity, because there was a lot of empty seats..but as the band took the stage everyone filed in, and it ended up being about 90% full (they did curtain off the nosebleed nosebleed small 400 level section). We had a very good group near us, we all decided before the show to stand and dance, and that was good. People were banging their tambourines (yes, I was a sucker! I bought the $40 tambourine with FMac on it, however I didn't "play" it during the show. I will leave that to Stevie Nicks!)
* "Storms" seemed exceptionally good tonight. Hard to say what exactly made it so good, but Stevie did seem to put a lot of passion into it.
* Stevie dedicated "Landslide" to a woman named Betty tonight. If I remember correctly she's done this at previous Atlanta shows as well. Stevie and Lindsey were VERY playful during Landslide. They kept making these gestures in the end, like they were looking up in the snow covered hills..and they both did the same gesture, it seemed pretty random - I don't know if they've done this at other shows, they were both getting a kick out of it though.
* One thing I noticed during Stevie's "Gypsy" story was she called "the bed on the floor" - "OUR bed" and pointed to Lindsey..lol I thought that was funny!
* During "Dreams" Stevie did the high notes on "what you hAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!" It was probably the best "Dreams" I've ever soon. And usually I'm tired of Dreams. People seemed pretty impressed with her vocals on this first Stevie-number of the night!
* I think "Say You Love Me" sounds great live. The Youtube videos just don't do it justice. Stevie seems to enjoy playing it too. She smiled a lot!
* Philips Arena security were truly CAMERA NAZIS. They even printed out all these fliers and passed them out, noting all their rules on cameras. Even cell phone cameras. I still saw a lot of people sneaking photos though, so hopefully we'll get some pics from the show!
* "Rhiannon" was actually really cool tonight. Stevie really went for the "Wellllll I don't think you do!!!!" part. She also gave us some high notes on the "will you take me with you to the SKYYYY...DREAM ON...TRY HARD.." parts.
* Of course I loved "Go Insane" It's really fun the way they are doing it on this tour, and the crowd seemed to really enjoy it.
* I saw Mick's assistant outside of the arena while we were in line. I recognized him from the MyMickTV videos. He's got ALL KINDS of gear on. Radios, cords, and everything else under the sun hanging from his belt. I'm assuming he was out there because of the AllAccess people.
* Mick introduced Lindsey as "the one who never gets to leave the stage."
* In the end, Stevie said "HOTLANTAAAAAAAAAAAA!" We thought that was cute, lol.
* Overall, I would say it was an exceptional show. The flow is really nice, there are no dull moments. Stevie seemed to be pretty energetic, and she smiled a good bit. Yeah she closes her eyes a lot, you can tell the spotlight bothers her eyes. But she truly seemed to be enjoying herself. Lindsey was his usual manic self, and really impressed the crowd. He got a HUGE standing ovation from the entire arena after "Big Love" and some other songs. Stevie's tambourine playing was pretty cool tonight, she was rockin out. Her voice was in top form. She really paid a lot of attention to the way she sounded, and went for a lot of the notes. It was also great to hear John and Mick in such fine form. The rhythm section really stands out on this tour with their more scaled back sound. Fleetwood Mac was in fine form tonight. They all really seemed to enjoy themselves..

I'm glad they scaled the band down too and just played. That was the only thing I didnt like about SYW was all the extra help.
Mick and John really did shine tonight. Everyone looked like they were having a ball. If I had to pick this show was better than SYW.
There was a moment I that I thought was cute. It was between Mick and Stevie. After Tusk Stevie went up to the kit and kind of made a rolling movements with her hands as if to say to Mick that he was behind and he stood up and "put his dukes up".

My first ever Fleetwood Mac show and they DID NOT disappoint!! Nothing can touch this experience. I've watched the videos, read the reviews and still I was not prepared for the ultimate awesomeness that happened tonight.

Leathargic Stevie is to me now simply a figment of others' wild imaginations. She was ON FIRE tonight!! I was so thrilled!!

Lindsey Buckingham - guitar god - words do not express.

I felt like there was little "friendly" competition going on between the two all night -and for a while it certainly did feel like the "Buckingham Nicks" Show instead of "Fleetwood Mac', but by the end it all came together.

Stevie dedicated "Landslide" to - yes - Betty Witherspoon, "Reese's mom who is just as beautiful".

Stevie and Lindsey shared enough looks and smiles and gestures to appease me and I thought both seemed to be having a blast.

After the show, I enjoyed becoming part of the "entourage" as the limos took them out to Dekalb to fly out. LOL. I couldn't resist, it was the icing on my very expensive piece of cake.

If you haven't seen this show, please do yourself a favor and go. It's amazing. They are amazing. From some of the reviews I've read I've begun to wonder if they did need to hang it up. Not so. They prove why they are one of the greatest rock bands ever.

Twisted Gypsy,

LOL, don't tell me that Stevie gave you her famous death stare.

Since I'd been reading posts from people who were getting their tickets tonight (including Gazz who came all the way from Australia), I was wondering what you would find at the box office. Second row is amazing and 2 seats at that! You must have been so thrilled.

That's great about Mick and Stevie teasing each other. I was watching Springsteen on with Jon Stewart and he said when you're still playing with people you've known for 40 years, it's either great or the worst nightmare of your life. I'm glad that there's still a lot of "great" moments between the FM members.

Shangrilatrouble,

I had to laugh when you described how Stevie said "our bed." Next thing you know she's going to be drawing us pictures. I want to see their gestures during Landslide too. These guys will be ready for synchronized swimming any day.

Sounds like the show far surpassed your expectations. Watch, when we get the media reviews, they'll be saying that Stevie was asleep, etc. Sometimes I think these critics are doing the Emperor Has No Clothes in reverse: The king is there in all his regalia, robes and crown, but they declare he's stark naked, just to be chic.

Any exchanges stand out for you? What was your favorite?

Ha! Right on, Michele about the reviews. Hopefully, that won't be the case here. If so, I will think they weren't paying attention!

The SnL interaction - just small little glances and grins here and there and especially from the beginning of the show. Stevie was all smiles tonights and seemed to really be putting more energy into her performance. I thought it was hilarious when she pointed at Lindsey when she was pointedly mentioned "our bed" and then declared "Gypsy" was about going back to the "Gypsy that WE were." Cute. Lindsey seemed to mouth the words to a lot of the songs too. On "Gyspy" he almost seemed to get a sad expression - and Stevie changed it up a bit - it's on youtube. Great song. Oh, I remember being surprised when LB looked and pointed at her during MM, right off the bat. He sang the "Monday morning you look so fine" line to her and she gave one of those "you're silly" grins to him. "Landslide" was cute, Stevie put her hands over her eyes to look at him and he did it back to her, making all kinds of funny motions and movements making her laugh and she did the the hands over the eyes thing again. Just cute. I'll write a full review later.

Oh, one thing I noticed - Lindsey was getting drawn out ovations and at one point - I'll remember what song when I look at the set list - but it was early on - John seemed to be pretty miffed about the grandstanding - he and Stevie were looking at each other and John made a motion with his hand towards her like - 'WTH'?

I was in the center section - 6th row - and I swear I think Betty Witherspoon was in front of me. If not, it was someone Stevie knew I would put money on it...

Click on the link and you can see my pictures. They are not as good as they used to be, I should have never sold my first digital camera I ever had. It was the best one. Plus I don't use the flash anymore. I'm also working on uploading the videos to youtube.

Well, I guess I'll import my little review from the other tread...

Just got back from the show. Crappy upper level seats, but we had fun and they were only $30 a piece. Missed the first 4 songs because they actually started a few minutes after 8! Disappointed I didn't hear those high notes on Dreams!

Me and my friend were like the only stands standing/dancing on songs in our entire section, even during GYOW. Boring old people! lol. You really do have such a different experience up there than being closer, my friend commented that it felt like watching them on t.v., you feel so disconnected from the show and everyone up there is so boring! but, we had fun and it a great show.

few notes:

-Stevie was wearing really short boots most of the show, but brought out the red ones for the red dress and the super high black ones for Stand Back and everything after. Seems like the way to go.
-The Silver Springs outfit was the white top-thing that looks like it just goes over her black dress but is really pretty. How long has she been wearing that?
-Lindsey is just so insane and one fire, his energy is astounding. Although I must say though his playing is amazing his voice is painful to listen to at the end of Big Love. It made my throat hurt listening to his growls. He was wearing the standard red-t and leather jacket. Everyone LOVED him.
-Silver Springs not the best from the tour, but on par with most of the shows. Great way to end.
-In person I realized why you really just can't drop songs like Landslide and Don't Stop.

So overall another great show :-) I teared up during Gypsy and Sara, two of my mom's favorite songs. They REALLY rocked it out. Such a great band, after all these years.

I had the best night of my life last night! Ok so I'll start with what happened when I first arrived, me and my best friend Kristie went and bought t-shirts as soon as we came in. After there was another table selling jewelry, tamborines, etc... and I was talking to the lady selling stuff and asked her if she gets to meet the band, and she told me I actually travel with the band, so of course I love Fleetwood Mac so much I asked if there was any chance I could meet them and she said no at all because they leave pretty much as soon as it's done, so I told her to just tell Stevie that I love her so much and of course that I was named after Sara and she told me she would. So I brought the poster I made (the fleetwood mac picture I posted here awhile back) and asked if she could give stevie the poster and she said no but I could try to go and talk to the security and see if they could help, so I did that... Security said I could try and go to customer service and see if they could give it to her. So I finally went to CS and asked them if I gave them a gift to give Stevie, would it 100% get to her and the lady said YES ma'am she'll receive the gift after the show! ( I had previously written a note on the back on the poster, in the off chance that she would receive it and it also included my name and phone number) So I was on a high all night just to know that she would get the poster! I was also able to tell people a lot about FM that they didn't know (song meanings, where christine was, names of albums, set list, etc) which I'm always happy to do. They made me feel important lol :)
Ah anyway to the concert, as soon as they came on stage I started crying because I was SO HAPPY that I was about to see this amazing band live and my friend was like are you ok Sara? and I was like I'm so happy I'm going to cry all night haha. Monday Morning was awesome! The Chain was something I was so excited to hear and it was fantastic. Gypsy made me cry, really fantastic! Rhiannon was AMAZING! Sara was of course one of my favorites, I did shed a tear or two for that one lol. Storms was beautiful and I was so glad I waited until the concert to here it live! I'm So Afraid was just the most awesome thing to watch and Lindsey Buckingham was so great the entire night! Gold Dust Woman was soooooo good (one of Stevie's best)! Go Your Own Way was so fun to sing along to and dance too! Silver Springs , Stand Back, Go Insane, IKINW, Landslide, World Turning, Don't Stop! I mean every song was great and sung so well and preformed with so much passion.. It just makes me wanna cry thinking about how amazing they ALL were last night! I stood and danced all night with this lady I met named Angie! She knew every word to every song like me. She was a blast to to stand by :) Again, there wasn't one bad song and they all sounded great! I hope the come back to ATL and I hope Stevie calls hahahaha. My first Fleetwood Mac concert was probably the best night of my 18 years and it is something I will never forget! Oh and the security was really tight last night so I could only recorded videos, no pictures because it almost got taken away, but if it's good enough audio I'll post them later! (rhiannon was shot really low and I don't think I got any of them on stage, just audio, but I got more courage as it went on so there should be some good ones...)

Ok so I a got some of compliments on my dress! I put my face on Christine's and then ironed it on to my dress (thanks photoshop!). People were so nice and friendly there and they were like I would pay you to do that for me.. I was so happy! Anyway the photographer for the AJC photographed me and Kristie and it was up online this morning! (It's a rough one of me but I'll photoshop it later lol)
http://projects.accessatlanta.com/gallery/view/music/fleetwood-mac-atlanta/#thbz_hm ( I realize now that you can't see me on the dress because of the flash, so heres the actual photoshopped picture http://s667.photobucket.com/albums/vv32/SaraMac09/?action=view&current=FMPOSTER.jpg )

I'm glad this was my first show of there's because it was so good!

Brittany
Oh and I've got video and pictures I will post tomorrow.

You will remember this night forever!!! Great post... :)

I also need to give props to Mick on the drum solo. I didn't mind the electronic drum pad for SYW and I know how it is being tall and needing to stretch your legs but thanks Mick for keeping it real and staying behind the kit. Much more enjoyable this go round.

About the Hotlanta... For me personally, I think Atlanta is one of the best places to see the Mac. It's a horrid city to live in (imo) but the audiences are great. We love the Mac here in the South and plus we know how to have a good time. Also thanks to security for not trying to get everyone sit that was at the stage. I was surprised becuase we were standing up there before the lights went out.

He sang the "Monday morning you look so fine" line to her and she gave one of those "you're silly" grins to him.

Thanks for the details. He should sing, "Monday Morning your mics not on," to her.

I will vow revenge and make John sorry, if he doesn't watch himself.

Great reviews. Shoot. Lindsey is back to the leather?

Ah, well. Maybe he'll dump it when he hits the northeast again. I hear you southern people have some cold weather down there. Wouldn't want the poor guy to get the shivers.

Haha it was actually a really short dress! Since I didn't know who to look for from the ledge, I might have seen you and not have known. What were you wearing?

A royal blue tank with dark jeans. I'm 5'10" so I'm kind of hard to miss but in that crowd. And speaking of crowd I think it almost sold out last night. I looked around and it was packed...no joke.
Where did you sit?

That was an awesome sight... that song really made the place come alive. I read someone else's review - they said during GYOW Cory and the crew were all dancing around in afros at the bottom of the stairs when Stevie walked over to that side. They said she shook her head at them at first and then at Cory after they took them off! LOL. Hilarious.

I've always thought that they run colder than the rest of us mere mortals.

Stevie is always wearing gloves and layers, even in the middle of summer. Lindsey is in leather.

Perhaps that was the whole "hook" in their relationship.

And Stevie doesn't ever look like she's hot. Lindsey does. Still, even though he seems grateful for the water and towel by the time he gets to World Turning he's not as fried as you'd think he'd be. I wonder if it's cooler on stage than it is on the floor. With the lights, you'd think it would be hotter.

Epic. Anyone else see that or know what song early on prompted the huge ovations?

There may have been some earlier moments, but Big Love and NGBA definitely invited this type of response.

No. The moment I was referring to was much earlier. Let me look at the set list...I am almost positive it was IKINW because I believe that's the first song that Lindsey left his mic and went over to Stevie's side of the stage...I'm pretty sure he did that anyway...at any rate, he was playing to the crowd from the beginning and this was the second occurrence where he just stood there accepting the adulation and John's hand motion to Stevie definitely was one of irritation and she sort of just shrugged. I noticed when she got a lot of applause on "Stand Back", however, she bowed once (maybe twice) sort of demurely and then spread her arms out emphatically motioning to the entire stage and to LB a couple of times - specifically directing the applause to him (and the others). I thought that was very gracious on her part.

PS - I can't blame LB for hamming it up and for enjoying the attention - it was just a real obvious tension I noticed from John. At the end of the show though, LB was applauding loudly for John and I was glad to see John got a very loud applause from the crowd. I thought it was pretty equally distributed at the end but then again my hearing was severely imparied by that point! ;)

I can't necessarily blame John or Stevie for getting slightly annoyed by the response to Lindsey. When I was in Columbus, I hate to say it but he got a deafening loud response during the intros, and- maybe it was where I was standing- but it seemed to trump the other's responses.

I love John. He's so effortlessly cool in a very quiet, English way. And he seems like a nice guy. So if he was pissed, I'd understand...probably because I just like him. ;)

But, really, I don't think Lindsey can help it. It's his kingdom. The extent to which that man rocks out and shows his amazing, brilliant talent on that platform is just uncalled for. And I absolutely love it. I adore Fleetwood Mac, but Lindsey is the reason I want to see them live, and continue seeing them live. Just gotta say...:o

I thought that each band member got around the same crowd response, maybe a tad bit louder for Stevie if that, and during the preformances IKINW, Big Love, NGBA, and I'm So Afraid got huge responses for Lindsey. I know I was so amazed with him I couldn't stop screaming for him. Of course Stevie is my absolute favorite so she was who I was most excited to see and she didn't disappoint me one bit. I screamed just as loud for the both of them. I'm not sure if I noticed John being annoyed but Lindsey deserved the ovation :)

It's interesting because, until GYOW Lindsey doesn't usually cross over to Stevie's side of the stage -- not while she's there. Of course, he's there for ISA, but that's not until she leaves. Usually, he stays on his side. Then, for GYOW, they cross sides.

During the Dance tour, he'd go over to her side of the stage for Stand Back and stand by the piano and then John would cross over to Lindsey's side during that song.

Now, for Tusk Lindsey''d go over to her side of the stage and he'd interact with John and Christine in the old days and he'd do the Tusk dance with Stevie on that side, for the SYW tour. Tusk is coming earlier in the setlist this time around, so maybe he stepped up the right side invasion.

Yeah, I would think Stevie would be the one to get the louder applause, but I seriously think Lindsey did in Columbus. I made a concerted effort to hear the applause that day for some reason, but I normally don't care. The whole band is incredible and I'm blown away by the artistry of them as a unit and the musicianship. They are totally professional and put on a magnificent show.

It means a lot because, unfortunately, there are many artists who have been around as long as FM or longer, who have had a great deal of longevity, and just do not care- not enough to play like John or Mick, to give their all like Lindsey, or spice up their stage image like Stevie. It's impressive all the way and that's why they still rock.

And he may not have been on her side of the stage...I just know that John was talking to Stevie and made that motion while Lindsey was basking in his glory. Lindsey may have still been on his side of the stage.

It was probably 8:10 when I heard started hearing the crickets and my excitement level increased at least a thousand fold. The next few minutes, waiting for the band to take the stage seemed like an eternity and then finally Mick and John both came onstage another couple of minutes (maybe just seconds) and Stevie and Lindsey came out hand in hand to thunderous applause.

[For the next two and half hours I felt as if I was watching a tennis match, my head moved from Stevie to Lindsey so much. Even though I was in the center section, it was hard to decide on who to watch. I did end up watching Stevie more than Lindsey though. Don’t get me wrong – I am a huge Lindsey fan – I honestly am more than captivated and blown away by him, just like everyone else. But, I do love Stevie’s dramatic flair - the calculated movements and gestures. I also hoped to get a good take on her after all the negative reviews she had received.]

Lindsey escorted Stevie to her mic and gave her hand a sweet kiss and squeeze as he went to strap on the Rick Turner and make his way to his mic. He counted off and charged into “Monday Morning” with – yes – “unleashed” abandon. I knew immediately that any preconceived notions, thoughts or ideas had just been shattered.

Lindsey flung his arm out toward Stevie, singing “Monday Morning you sure look fine” straight to her as she flashed him a grin and a quick shake of the head in recognition of his playfulness or perhaps a shared memory from the birth of the line, I thought. The rambunctiousness of the song had the audience moving from the beginning; and Stevie was smiling, happy, and beating her tambourine for all it was worth (which I’m sure was much more than the $40 ones they were selling in the lobby). I especially enjoyed the lower notes that Stevie went for throughout the evening – on this song – she sang “do” low in the line “no one else that could ever do”, a nice touch.

“The Chain” – I was especially pleased to hear this song live as it seems to be a “theme song” of sorts. My favorite part of this song are the harmony parts and the little nuances – the answer lines, the backup singers – and Stevie doing the “aaahhs” as in “Mirage” only softer. Of course, John’s solo is awesome and Stevie stepping aside so he gets the spotlight is only appropriate. I love Stevie and Lindsey looking at each other on this song too – not as intense as “Mirage”, but still a nice dramatic touch.

Stevie said “Atlanta, GEORGIA” (with a pretty nice Southern accent, I might add) as she welcomed us and said the only thing to do was to “get this party” seductively “started”… ahem. Obviously, she thinks “Dreams” is the best way to start a party since it was their only number one record. I have to say this was a really great version. On the first heartbeat line Stevie hit her fist in her palm double-time but on the second one she went with a single beat. Lindsey mouthed some of the words as she sang.

“I Know I’m Not Wrong” was a great up-tempo song, although I don’t think this was as well known to the crowd except for the die-hards. It’s great to have another “Tusk” song in the set though and I especially like Stevie’s harmonies on this song. She seemed to enjoy singing it and Lindsey’s guitar work really started coming alive here, as was evident with his extended basking in adulation at the edge of the stage at the end of the song. In fact, John seemed to be pretty miffed about the grandstanding - he and Stevie were looking at each other and John made a motion with his hand towards her, irritated, like - 'WTH'? Stevie sort of just shrugged.

“Gypsy” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu2fyMOh9Xg)- After chatting with John and taking a drink from her solo cup sitting on the drum riser, Stevie made her way to the mic to tell us a little story. It was 1965 and she and her family had finally moved to San Francisco (apparently the ultimate destination) and she met Lindsey Buckingham in one day when she was a senior and he was a junior they sang a little song (I started to yell out ‘California Dreaming’ but I didn’t want her to get all verklempt and lose her place). So, a couple of years later Lindsey and his band called her and “almost sight unseen” gave her a spot in the band. And, this was when, in her opinion, the greatest musical scene of all time was happening – right there in San Francisco with Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix and it’s beginning to sound a bit “Camelot-ish” to me but I guess if you were there… Lindsey patiently holds his guitar while it gently weeps during this tale…haha…So, they opened for all these huge names and so “back to the Velvet Underground” which is San Francisco and back to the floor, she points at Lindsey and herself and says, “to our bed” and to the room with lace and paper flowers…”back to the Gypsy that WE were.” Lindsey mouthed along on “she was just a wish, she was just a wish” with a somewhat melancholy expression. Stevie sang “and her memories are all that is left of her now”. Nice ending guitar work, but I hate that Stevie has to yell over it to sing “I still see your bright eyes”. I wish they would go back to how they were doing it before the break with both of them singing it together. It was a nice change-up. Stevie did a few turns and then left to change.

“Go Insane” received a speech intro from Lindsey and he used a pick on an acoustic guitar. I enjoyed the ink blots video and the feedback from the amps made my ears ring. I’m sure it was supposed to. I did feel sort of “insane-ish” by the combination.

I noticed Lindsey began “Rhiannon” before Stevie was back onstage. She scurried to the mic a little. Here she upped her game – moving and gesturing with more animation.

“Second Hand News” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNgcMVTahlA) – happy, bouncy song. Stevie seemed to get a little giggly at one point on this song.

“Tusk” – slowed down, this works better than I would think. I enjoy watching Stevie wait in the shadows. For some reason, I think it looks cool. She was really banging the tambo on this song too. Was it this song she did a little kick at the end? She was in front of the drum kit with her back to the audience.

“Sara” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9FAAdoizAE)– it was especially wonderful to hear the extended version of this song. When Stevie walked over to Lindsey’s mic, I admit, I held my breath. It’s routine, sure by this point, but it still makes the crowd swoon and it’s a lovely gesture. I couldn’t help but laugh a little though when Stevie left Lindsey’s side and reached for Sharon’s hand as she walked by the backup girls.

“Big Love” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZE53lR2Qkw) - Lindsey said something about this song back in the day being about “alienation” and now it was about “reconciliation” or something like that. He’s awesome! I was mesmerized by his playing, as usual.

“Landslide” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p2G7Zvw4fs)– Stevie motioned to Lindsey to wait as soon as she came out for this song. She then proceeded to dedicate the song to “Betty Witherspoon, Reese’s mom, who is just as beautiful.” On the first “children get older, I’m getting older too” Lindsey was smiling with his eyes closed before he went back to his no expression face. At the “snow covered hills line” Stevie put her left hand over her eyes to look at Lindsey, which he mocked and they smiled and laughed as she finished , putting some nice spins on her ending vocals and he blew her a kiss.

“Never Going Back Again” – I really love the new take on this song. Lindsey’s drawing out of the words, the holding back, and Stevie’s harmony was awesome. I enjoyed watching the double drama of this song as Lindsey stopped playing, singing “you don’t know what it means to win…” and Stevie stood in the dark, like a statue, with her head just hanging down. Honestly, people around me were whispering, “is she ok?”, “look at her”…but it was all real hushed and then she slowly moved back to sing the harmony lines and the effect was perfection. Bravo to the two drama queens on this!

“Storms” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p2G7Zvw4fs) – I really laughed a little when Stevie introduced this song as a “stormy song for a stormy bunch of people with stormy relationships”. It was the funny little smile she had on her face and I’m pretty sure she was looking at Lindsey when she said that. Anyway, it was a great treat to hear it live and their ending together was haunting….and they know it. I love them!

“Say You Love Me” – I believe this is when it started to feel more like a “Fleetwood Mac” show to me and probably because Mick came down front. During the middle of the song, when LB is playing, Stevie went to play her tambo in front of Mick and she playfully pointed her finger out to barely tap a cymbal. He smiled at her and she was smiling the whole time. Cute motioning between SnL on this on the end verse they sing to each other: “I’m getting weaker everyday…” and “…if you use me again it’ll be the end of me”. Stevie and Lindsey use their hand signals to direct their singing on the end of this and they think it’s funny.

“Gold Dust Woman” – Rocked my socks off. Nice moves by Stevie on this, playing with the ribbons on her mic stand, some hip movements that got a smirk out of Lindsey and maybe even a little friendly competition as he sort of “pushed” back with a guitar riff. Stevie gave excellent drawn out wails and the new “dragon” extending at the end. Stevie really was doing some funky great head rolls at the end and as the one reviewer said, “proved at 60 she still knows how to work a shawl.” I think Lindsey is doing some different riffs on this song that really make this “goldie” oldie sound fresh, as are Stevie’s new vocals.

“Oh Well”– awesome to hear this live! Lindsey plays it up and Mick looks to really enjoy it. Lindsey shared his bow with Mick and John on this and the guys are all smiles.

"I'm So Afraid" – Lindsey’s biggest shining moment. Long extended and well-deserved ovation. Stevie’s harmonies still add to it for me, but just enough and does not take away at all from this being “his” song.

“Stand Back” – the perfect song to follow ISA. Stevie came out pumped and ready for this one! She was moving, throwing her head and flinging her arms around, really getting into it! Changed up some words, not sure what she said. Lindsey mouthed the words on the chorus and on a lot of the verses. He must like this song and he definitely wanted everyone to know that he needs a little sympathy. LOL. The crowd really got into it too. Also, Stevie did some major twirlage on this song – she spun almost all the way over to Lindsey’s side and had a mischievous sort of grin on her face. [Side note: the man in front of me traded places with the lady he was with – they were in their late ‘50’s-early ‘60’s. I would swear that Stevie noticed her and even knew her. She seemed to be sort of performing a little extra for this lady, but that was just my observation from my vantage point. Otherwise, it was for me! LOL.]

“Go Your Own Way” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIiggukOI7Y) – one of the priceless moments of the night, among so many, but this ranks at the top. The entire arena was on their feet dancing, screaming “you can go your own way!” The entire band got into this one too. Stevie was really smiling at the beginning and to see her with her top hat on just reliving some of their glory days was a nostalgia lovers dream. Love the little added extra “yeahs” and “go your own way” she threw into it. Mick’s drum thing towards the end, Lindsey’s new riffs again totally refresh this song. It’s not that it needs refreshing because it’s a great song but for the players, I’m sure it helps. Here’s where I also noticed that Stevie strikes a pose with ease. It was funny watching her shake her tambourine in front of the drum kit waiting for Lindsey to get done strumming around on the guitar. Also, it’s worth mentioning here that when Lindsey is at the stage hamming it up with the people and letting them play the guitar, Stevie takes some glances in his direction watching. It seemed to me she was enjoying the interaction he was getting with the audience too. She hides a grin sometimes at his antics.

“World Turning” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TETZHgbBaec)– Lindsey’s canned vocals on this are uber cool. I wish they would do a new recorded version like this. Also, Mick really was fun to watch – and I was surprised. I thought I would be annoyed but I wasn’t at all!

“Don't Stop” – This may have been the song that Brett and Neale got into as Brett was playing guitar and ran to stand back to back with Neale. It was neat to see the backup band having fun too. Lindsey turned to Stevie to sing one of the lines in this song, but it looked to me like she turned to sing it to Lori! Haha

“Silver Springs” – Stevie and Lindsey came back out for this last encore, again holding hands. They stood almost center stage as everyone cheered and Lindsey kissed her hand again, and then her head twice and they said something to each other. Stevie gathered herself together for one more performance. She almost blew her voice out on the last “never get away!”. She was careful and deliberate with the final line. I’m so glad that they had a day off so she could rest her voice.

After Lindsey said his good night, Stevie went to the mic and said something about “Hot ‘Lanta!” and how great we were or whatever. Mick said his thing and then they left.

**Overall, this concert was absolutely, hands-down a thrill to attend. I want to point out, that all of the videos from this night posted on youtube, DO NOT do this show justice as to what it looked like and how it felt actually being there. I was skewed by my perception of watching the videos prior to this show. Unless you’ve seen them a million times, don’t be kept away because you’re not impressed with the videos or you think that Stevie is not “all that”. I went to this show thinking they were ready for the retirement home (besides Lindsey) and I left thinking they’re doing great!!

Also, from my point of view, even though I love all the SnL interaction stuff, I wasn’t disappointed by the “lack of interaction”. They don’t ignore each other and they seemed very genuine. It was a good vibe.

Stevie smiling and laughing and having a good time makes for a happy show. I hope things stay good for her so she can keep having fun. I actually think it gives her momentum with Lindsey and the little competition thing they’ve got going is great for the show. I also think Lindsey enjoys it.

It has been reported by others and the reviews have all contributed to the fact that Lindsey is the glue of the show. Someone even commented, “is this the Lindsey Buckingham show?” I’m not sure that I agree he’s been “under appreciated” or whatever all these years, but I will say the man is like a fine wine – only gets better. It is simply mind-boggling to watch him play the guitar.

I hope everyone will be able to catch this show!! I don’t think this will be my last Mac show. I’m hooked!

and Stevie was smiling, happy, and beating her tambourine for all it was worth (which I’m sure was much more than the $40 ones they were selling in the lobby).

Loved your song by song review and the hilarious asides. I think Lindsey waiting while his guitar gently weeps was my favorite.

“The Chain” – I was especially pleased to hear this song live as it seems to be a “theme song” of sorts.

With all the press it has been getting in the BBC, as it is used for the racing, I bet it is even more iconic over there. Reminds me of how Tusk is so famous as being USC's song here in southern California.

“Stevie said “Atlanta, GEORGIA” (with a pretty nice Southern accent, I might add) as she welcomed us and said the only thing to do was to “get this party” seductively “started”… ahem.

Oh, I'd like to hear it uttered that way. I always love the way she pauses in her solo concerts when she does the Sorcerer, "let me put you on . . . ice" part. Shades of Mae West.

Obviously, she thinks “Dreams” is the best way to start a party since it was their only number one record.

You'd think that little intro would be more appropriate to kick off a fast song.

I started to yell out ‘California Dreaming’ but I didn’t want her to get all verklempt and lose her place).

Given your user name, I'm not surprised you had this urge.

Stevie and Lindsey use their hand signals to direct their singing on the end of this and they think it’s funny.

They used to orchestrate the end of Say You Will this way during the last tour. Cute.

Love the little head kisses. We are lucky that Silver Springs stayed in the setlist this long, given the vocal strain. I imagine it's even harder coming at the end of a 2 hour show, but it's a very effective closer.

**Overall, this concert was absolutely, hands-down a thrill to attend. I want to point out, that all of the videos from this night posted on youtube, DO NOT do this show justice as to what it looked like and how it felt actually being there.

Unless someone described somethng specific I wanted to see (like Stevie doing a reverse and putting her head on Lindsey's shoulder for Sara), I never watched any of the videos from the tour, because I didn't want to get burned out. But even if I had, you're right that it doesn't capture the experience of being there. You can know every single thing that's coming, but still feel overwhelmed when it's actually unfolding, a few feet away from you, so close that you can see their eyes glisten and absorb the energy they've generated throughout the venue. Even if you've heard and seen it all before, you really haven't.

Thanks for all the details. Michele

I’m hooked!

I agreed 100% with everything you said about every song and about how the YouTube videos don't do the show justice! You took the words right out of my mouth on pretty much everything haha :)

And to Nico, thanks! My phone is being slow tonight so I'll just respond here :)

Tuesday night was unforgetable. I had read some of the reviews before the concert and they were all wrong.

It was me and my mom (she had been waiting 32 years for the chance to see Fleetwood Mac live). We were both extremely excited. When we got to Phillips Arena, we were interviewed by the dude from 97.1 The River! He asked me who my three favorite artists were (FM, Stevie solo, and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers).

We got our shirts and went to get our seats. When the cricket sounds started playing, I got really excited. The next couple of hours were awesome, with so many great moments. The highlights for me were Sara, Gold Dust Woman (you could feel the emotion Stevie was putting into it), Go Your Own Way (I temporarily lost hearing in my ears from the applause lol), Say You Love Me, Tusk (the new intro is awesome), and of course, Silver Springs.

After the concert, I thought to myself, "People actually think they can't do it anymore?!" Tuesday proved two things for me, one being that they definitely can still do it. The other being rock 'n roll is still alive and well.

I was a beside my self in anticipation of seeing them in Dallas on Thursday night. My wife thought we were going nowhere. and then surprise. There we were in the fifth row on the floor.

Thank you Allan.

This was the greatest night of my life, seeing lifelong friends again who have been with me through all that life has had to offer. Sharon and I celebrated. Our love affair and theirs.

Stevie was magnificent, magical. Lindsey was driving, emotional. Taking it to the edge and beyond - a true magician giving it his everything. John was keeping it true and getting carried away with it at times, and what can you say about Mick- 'are you with me now'?

I felt a strange urge to turn around...and then I saw this whole of humanity celebrating as one, on its feet in unbridled energetic happiness, all of us carried away to heaven and bliss. Even now as I listen to them here with me, I can see them in my heart, on my eyes......

Don't ever leave me.....

Wow~I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gypsy speech at your Atlanta show...."our bed"....that's a Shipper's Paradise for sure! :]

...I really don't understand why we Shippers of FM world get so giggly when hearing stuff like that....but I have, ever since the age of 18, been so viscerally effected when hearing Lindsey/Stevie/Lovey Dovey Stuff. I can't get enough of those two...and I have no idea why...

Haha... yeah like Stevie says they are a "power couple" onstage for sure.
