I'll say "It's Only Love" because I think that's the one with the best vocal on it. I just love that vocal.

Standouts for me:
"It's Late" - loved when she sang this on the Chris Issak show... I think in another lifetime, she totally could've gone the country route.
"Crash" - LOVE IT! Even more than the original. I think she absolutely nails it.
Oh heck, I like them all!! Except maybe "Circle Dance" just because it's a little too depressing for my liking.
She sure knows how to make a song her own yet not completely destroy the original.
P.S. I voted for "Crash", perhaps because it's fresh in my mind since I've been listening to Soundstage Sessions quite a bit!!

For me it has to be Reconsider Me. Reconsider Me is sooo amazing it hurts. I love the ending with Stevie and Don and a second Stevie singing over everything Reconsider Me NOOO re consider me.... Pure Bliss

Well, I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, so hearing my favourite singer perform a song by my favourite band is always a plus. I just had to go with it.
Though, I must say, I do like It's Only Love, Crash into Me, and Circle Dance.

I think 'I Need to Know' is always her best!

I went with "Rock And Roll" because Stevie's at her best when she sings tear the cover off, balls to the wall rockers. Except for "It's Only Love," the best songs she covered are "I Need To Know," "Rock And Roll' and "Face The Promise."

I hate to admit this, but Crash rocks my socks.

Do you hate to admit it because Dave Matthews wrote it?

No. I HATED it when I first heard it. Actually, watching the whole Soundstage on PBS, I cringed. ......but alas....here I am praising it.
Like I said before, I was gone from The Ledge for probably over a year....her press week has turned me back into a chiffonhead.

Oh man. I would of much preferred that on soundstage sessions than circle dance

I prefer "Red River Valley" from her appearance on Chris Issak's show.

I went with Circle Dance because it can usually reduce me to tears :o Crash Into Me and Reconsider Me would definitely follow closely, though.

Yea, and i like how sexy Stevie and Vanessa make the song sound, especially when they sing "though I" in that breathy way that they do during the chorus.

I heard her Crash when I was in California Pizza Kitchen Sunday night. Took me by surprise. Michele

Yes, that was spectacular!
Of these, I voted for Rock and Roll.

I voted for Circle Dance, because I love the song and love Stevie's take on it...and it's new...but I could just have easily voted for any of the others (or Silent Night or At Last, for that matter...) Stevie singing someone else's songs and making them her own just works for me...but I will say, if I Need To Know had been included (I get why it's not, but if it was) that would have been my pick, hands down...

I've gone for It's Only Love because, like someone else said, when one of my favourite singers covers the other I love it! I'm a huage Sheryl Crow fan and was before her and Stevie started working tiogether so much. I love that they work so well together!
I do love her versions of Rock and Roll and, especially, Circle Dance (I love Bonnie Raitt too) and Crash but since I could only choose one...grr!

It is not one of the choices, but somewhere someone posted an mp3 of Sunday Kind of Love. I thought it was really good.

I voted for Reconsider Me but for me it was merely the best of a bad bunch...
I'm sorry but I just don't really think Stevie does a great job of covering other people's songs. She should just stick to doing her own stuff...
The exception as several have noted is I Need To Know, which I can't understand why she hasn't released officially. Much better version than the original TP version...

Yeah. "I Need To Know" should be on that list. That was awsome!:blob1::blob2:

How bad is it I didn't know Warren Zevon wrote Reconsider Me? I knew it was a song which Jimmy Iovine pushed for her to record, and she didn't write it... but I had no idea Warren wrote it! Very cool!

I added Rod Stewart's cover of "Stand Back" to this webpage. It wouldn't let me add her own cover of Betsy Cook's "Docklands" (has anybody heard this?) because it apparently isn't in the database or something.

Kind of surprised to see "Reconsider Me" in the lead....I think it's one of her worst covers! VERY glad they left it off ROCK A LITTLE! I much prefer Warren's version!
