Anyway - I'd venture to say that picture is a tad oversized.

How many copies of the DVD did she sale? I know it's a lot more than the CD.
Where is that figure?

Not necessarily more... For instance the week ending 3/29 - Motley Crue's dvd was No.1 with just a little over 7,000 sold for the week..

Necessarily more when the DVD has constantly sold more than CD on Amazon.com ALL WEEK! And it's still selling better than CD.

So can we get some totals for the DVD?

Oh, here we go..

It won't go anywhere ..The Lindsey fans don't even come over here much.I'm primarily a Nicks fan that thinks Gift of Screws is a great album..the soundstage CD is so-so.I love watching the DVD though.

How can you tell this? (I'm assuming you're not being stupid and directly comparing the sales rankings, thinking that this is an accurate barometer)

No it did not...both the CD and DVD sold well on Amazon, but the DVD's ranking was never higher than the CD's, and those 2 rankings are not even comparable because they are two different mediums.

He just gave you the sales figures of last week's number 1 DVD, obviously MacMan does not have the sales figures for Stevie's DVD, otherwise he would have posted them up. It's obvious that her DVD sold around the same number. As i just said, a CD and a DVD are two different mediums with two different demands. DVD's generally sell less than CD's because CD's are the more popular medium, that is why it only takes 50,000 units for a DVD to go gold and not 500,000 units like a CD. So the DVD is number 1, but that doesn't mean it sold more units than the CD.

Duh!!!!!!

Do you think you are the only one that pays attention to amazon? You wanna know how I know the DVD sold more than CD all week. There is a section underneath Amazon Sales Rank called Popular in these categories. Then it gives a list of categories. They merge the DVD sales with CD sales in these categories and the DVD has been outselling the CD all week.

I don't need a lecture about the difference between CD versus DVD sales and RIAA certification. I've been preaching about it for 2 weeks. I know about the difference in the charts.

Currently, the DVD is
#2 in Music > Pop > Soft Rock
#3 in Music > Classic Rock > Album-Oriented Rock (AOR)
#3 in Movies & TV > Music Video & Concerts > Rock & Roll

Currently, the CD is
#4 in Music > Pop > Soft Rock
#4 in Music > Classic Rock > Album-Oriented Rock (AOR)
#5 in Music > Rock > Live Albums

THIS IS BASED ON SALES OF PRODUCTS

So can anyone come up with the sales number of the DVD?

Amazon is not the holy grail of sales. You can't download the DVD on iTunes. What does it matter anyway? Both did well, and everyone is happy with their purchases. And again, no one has the sales figures yet, do you think if you ask enough times that they will magically appear?

Wow...i'm actually kinda shocked because she sold almost double the amount of CD's and she charted so much higher (number 1!) with the DVD. That just proves how much lower the demand is for DVD's.

As much as I love what I have from GoS, I must say that Stevie Nicks does kick ass.

Oh, and that pic WAS fantabulous while it was here. I had to zoom out to 30% to screencap that baby!

"Screw" the chart position- how many copies did GOS sell its first week?

I say screw all the chart positions and number of records sold. What I think is a more enviable topic to debate is the impression an artist has on others. The influence to move and stir up creativity in people's souls. And long after they are gone, who will still be remembered. I defer.
