Billy Bob and his Band in Toronto.
This was just on the news... It's actually kinda funny how he's acting because the host of the radio show mentions he's a screen writer and an actor.

I saw this earlier today. It's drawing attention all over.
Billy Bob Thorton redefines "Douche Bag" for a whole new generation.
If I was the interviewer - who remained far too collected - I would have asked the questions that should have been asked, instead of humoring him. I would have asked him if he was high. I would have asked his bandmates if they were concerned with his mental instability. Thorton couldn't understand simple questions. If he was playing a game, he should expect journalists to call him on it. It's so disrespectful.

I always knew he was an asshole. This just confirms it. I've heard of publicity stunts but I think this one may have back fired. Every comment I read on TMZ says that they will no longer go to his movies ( what movies?), rent his dvd's and would never dream of going to see his band play. So I don't think this stunt worked out for him. The fact that he even put himself in the same league as Tom Petty is the funniest thing I've heard in along time  (Reminds me of Stevie's Bob Dylan comment ).
I'm wondering what Canadian fans with tickets to his show tonite in Toronto are thinking. I know that I would be demanding my money back (which I know is not possible) and definately not show up at the show. He's literally bitting off the hand that feeds him. I don't get it  It's a no win situation.
I would have loved to see how Howard Stern would have re-acted to this if it had happened on his show. I'm sure he would have just played along and asked him "who **** in your cornflakes?'' I don't get sirius radio to listen to Howard, so can someone let me know if Howard responds to this?

His band played here during SXSW. One of those gigs was an invitation only party, hosted by American Spirit, on St. Patrick's Day. Me and everyone I know had invites for it, but none of us were interested in going, even for the free booze, cuz we all know his music sucks. I heard they shut the party down early because hardly anyone attended.

I hope that everyone that goes tonite throws stuff at him, because apparently that's what he likes

My friend was dragged along to see Billy Bob and his band play in London a few years back. Billy Bob just stood on stage swinging his arms like he was brain damaged apparently and showed no charisma whatsoever. He also started and ended the show with the song he had penned to his then-wife, Angelina
My friend said it was the worst gig he's ever been to.
That interview is hilarious. I thought the DJ did a good job.

What a prick. The radio host was very nice about it, at least. I thought he handled himself very well. I guess Billy Bob wants to act like a ****ing elitist. Whatever, I just won't support his crappy music then. Loser.

I don't get the vibe that he's intentionally trying to be douchey here, or that this was a stunt. He just seems high as a kite.

I agree. At first, I thought he was joking. I thought a few things when I saw this.
1. He's high as a kite and being unruly and a jerk.
2. I agree he had a right to be angry if the radio personality brought up his stardom if they had contractually agreed not to talk about it. That was BS on the part of the station.
3. The radio personality was an a$$ for keeping talking about it when the slingblade douchebag told him he did not want to talk about it and they had agreed to that. I mean to then insinuate if not actually state the band would nothing without his stardom was a$$holish.
4. He's high as a kite and at like 6 in the morning - maybe it was an all night bender
I find being taciturn is best when loaded - sadly, I NEVER follow my own advice
It kind of reminded me of the Truman Capote interview where he was high as a kite and "they" let him go on anyway and then "they" aired the interview - note "they" got in trouble for that because back then, there seemingly were standards in journalism.

He is ridiculous. Is the new thing in Hollywood to be mentally ill? I mean, I know it's not new, but the way some people are flaunting it or trying to convince us of it... I feel sorry for his band- they look so miserable and uncomfortable.
Sometimes I get clients who appear to be faking symptoms, and it takes me a while to tease things out. Fortunately for me, my clients are not Oscar winning actors!
