What is your favorite album cover from Stevie's solo career? As we know, each album cover has reflected where Stevie was at that moment in time in her life. For me, I love the cover of The Soundstage Sessions because it shows that right now Stevie is having the time of her life being an entertainer and a woman of the stage. TISL was a close second for me, because it's just classic Stevie! Here's all the album covers:

I was damned close to saying 'all of them' too...I really do love the way Stevie (and of course her photographers) capture the essence of Her in her portraits, and each of the covers are so freakin' evocative...I did chose The Wildheart though...I just love that one...TISL and BD would probably come in tied for second place...

Crystal Visions captures her whole essence so well... and for the picture to be 30 years old, she looks very chic IMO. But TISL is just so beautiful to look at... so evocative of what the album is about. So I had to chose TISL.

Rock A Little....

.....followed by Crystal Visions.

I said TISL. Then Crystal Visions and The Wild Heart.

But to be honest, I really don't think many of them are very good. There is something I don't care for in each cover. TISL is creative, and shows Stevie looking past everything bad in her life. I just wish we could see her face on the cover. Street Angel is my least favorite, the font and placing are the worst ever. Rock A Little reminds me too much of a Christmas tree. I don't care for her outfit on Timespace, and TOSOTM pose is too strange.

Bella Donna because it's the album that started solo Stevie... : )

I had trouble choosing between Rock A LIttle and Soundstage Sessions (that smile!), but ultimately sided with RAL cuz it's stood the test of time. I like it's graphic approach. Crystal Visions could be first, second, or third also. That's probably the one I'd most want framed.

WOW.. that was a hard one, but my all time favorite has to be Bella Donna with TISL a close second.. Great thread!!

this was tough. I voted for RAL but BD and TISL were close seconds.

For me it's the Wild Heart album, maybe because it was my first Stevie album.

Crystal Visions has a beautiful photo though.

I went for Trouble In Shangri-La, it's a great cover! I really don't like the Street Angel cover. The font and picture makes it all look pretty rushed, it just doesn't work.

I voted for RAL. I just love the misty look in her eyes as she spins in that black coat and laced-brimmed hat. Such 80's realness. Love the boots, everything. I'm not wild about the crystal ball though, that looks fake. But the rest of it really works for me.

I know the SA cover scored low on the poll so far, but I can't say that I dislike it at all. I think she looks pretty, and that was the debut of long, silky, parted-with-bangs hair in her album art. I loved it when I first saw LSPWBH on her old 'Arsenio Hall' appearance in the early 90's.

Well I chose BD....but I also love WH too so to me there kinda tied but since I could only pick one of them....I like CV since that is Tusk period pic....but Its cool on the older covers cause its Stevie head to toe (esp with the boots!!) Not crazy about TISL....I guess I don't see the appeal....esp since we've finally seen outtakes.....there much better esp the pic with the flowers & Stevie is looking at the camera....much much better to me IMO...same with outtakes for SA....those are much better than the down pic we got. Not crazy about TS cover. I love the color 'blue' but just not used in this fashion. Not ever loved the RAL cover either some of the outtakes again are better than the pic chosen. I've seen a couple of Mirror outtakes but not enough but I'm sure there has to be more better than the front pic. I do like the LP but not the front cover as much as I'd like too.....SD is nice but I like the older LP's better....

The Street Angel cover is yet another impeccably poor and shoddy example of the design capabilities ofy Chris Nicks. Just goes to show, despite Stevie's admirable loyalty to her brother, nepotism is a very bad thing. He should be banned from ever doing graphic design for anyone. He'd be better suited to selling used cars.

Where can I see outtakes for her album covers? As much as I like the Trouble In Shangri-La cover I'd love to see her face in a different picture from those sessions...

I'm surprised to see Wild Heart so high! I've never liked that cover. I'd have to cast my vote for TISL or Soundstage.
