Hello everyone.

You are all so knowledgable and may be able to help me with this, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently in a Media class in my High School, and the Honors section has to do a research project on a topic about media. Well I knew I wanted to do mine on Stevie's influence and effects of her related to Fleetwood Mac. [Essentially]

I talked to my teacher, and he said it may be a good idea, but I need some 'evidence' of what exactly she changed and why the addition of her made FM so much different than not only the Blues era, but from Fleetwood-McVie-McVie-Welch to Fleetwood-McVie-McVie-Buckingham-Nicks.

If anyone has any websites, magazine articles, or any general information that could help me, it would be soooo greatly appreciated. I know I want to include album sales, tour info [if I can get any], and chart positions in my research paper, but the rest may be hard to conjure up. I guess that REASONS for why the addition of Stevie changed the group dynamic would be the first place to start.

Thanks again,
Christine

You could mention how the video for "Gypsy" was one of the first really popular music videos in the baby years of MTV,when the idea was still new and unexplored, and how it helped set the tone for music videos to become more like minni movies like they became in the 80's as apposed to a live performance of bands just singing and playing.

You might want to check the Blue Letter Archive for some old articles. http://bla.fleetwoodmac.net/index.php

Here's a review of the White album that talks about the changes in FM's music. http://bla.fleetwoodmac.net/index.php?page=index_v2&id=512&c=18

Basically, human beings are programmed to be attracted to beauty, so there's your answer about Stevie. Furthermore, the addition of Stevie and sexy Lindsey was like the Luke & Laura of the time. And timing is everything. Perhaps media outlets were also in the midst of change at the time, and there was more access to seeing the people who were band members. And record companies knew how to capitalize on this and market their bands better. And musically, I think the combination of the three vocalists were just magical, and the listeners at large were very receptive to it.
