Bob Dylan's new single

[dansven]

Bob will release a new studio album in April, and a single called "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'" can be downloaded at bobdylan.com

Fans at the Dylan discussion forum expectingrain.com thinks it is very similar to Black Magic Woman! :D

(Personally, I think it is similar to "All Your Loving".)

I agree, the drumbeat is exactly like Otis Rush's Cobra single version. (All Your Loving)

Bob Dylan likes to cover Howlin Wolf, as do we all

It is really Who's Been Talkin

"Bob Dylan likes to cover Howlin Wolf, as do we all"

I'd just like to able to cover anybody.

I agree with Doodyhead, it's Wolf.
Though you could say BMW was inspired by Howlin' Wolf also.
Bod Dylan's music has become very derivative.

Here is the version I'm speaking of:

No resemblance to the Dylan song whatsoever?

Speaking of Otis Rush, I've been looking for his original 'Homework' single on CD to no avail. I ended up with a remake from sometime in the 90's. Believe it or not I finally spotted it on one of "Bob Dylan's Radio Hour" compilation CD's.

First time I heard it I thought "That's Black Magic Woman!" but then quickly realised that BMW itself was taken from elsewhere. It's the blues and therefore it's hard to say which tune came first.

Really like the Dylan tune tho.

[doodyhead]

I think it is a distillation of BB King's Help The Poor and Otis Rush's All Your Love

It has the same chord arrangement as the first and the beat of the second

both are direct influences on him from that period
