The one cover I'm dying to see Stevie do is the Dixie Chicks' "Everybody Knows"....I think this song is PERFECT for her!
As for the "guy" theme.....I'll have to think about that one!

I would add Don't Stop believing. I am not sure if Nothing Else Matters would appeal to her the way it appeals to say you or I. I really like that song, but I would be nervous on how the cover would turn out... So let's add Don't Stop (BRILLIANT SUGGESTION!!!)
Crash
Hotel California
Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress
Barely Breathing (Duncan Sheik)
Wiked Games (Duet w/Chris Issak)
Rock and Roll
Hungry Like a Wolf (Duran Duran)
Black Magic Woman
Obsession (Animotion)

Hungry Eyes (Could you imagine??? How great that could be???)
Don't Stop Believing Journey
... This would freakin ROCK!!!

Forget the contempary songs... Otis Reddding songs and others of that era would be great. Her performance of "At Last" reveals how she could excell in that genere. It would certainly open the eyes and ears of those who never "got" her. "Sitting on the Dock..." and "Long Cool Woman..." are brilliant choices!! I like and respect Journey...but gag at the thought of her covering such middle-of-the-road 80's songs. There are far deeper, better sources of music out there that are begging for re-interpretation.

OH, right on! I totally agree. I was driving home last night, from a Duncan Sheik concert and Hungry Like a Wolf came on. I could just see her throwing those hands in the air and Sharon doing back-up... She would totally rock it. I know how much she loves those R&B tunes so of course they would be great, but songs like that would just give a broader scope of time... I just think someone should take her this list and get started, lol!!! Little Stevie Nicks singing Hungry Like a Wolf!!! OH! Love it! However, Long Cool Woman... would be freakin insane!!! Agree?

6.)Black-Pearl Jam
Brilliant!!! I'm no Pearl Jam fanatic, but I absolutely love this song, and Stevie could be amazing on this! The timing of the words and passion would totally suit her.
There is a great song written by Warren Zevon and Phil Everly, which appears on Phil's 1975 Mystic Line album, called 'Lion & The Lamb'. It has a frantic beat, ala Everybody Finds Out. Every time I hear it, all I can do is think of how great Stevie would sing it (not that Phil's version is poor by any means). I would post it here for a listen if I wasn't a complete computer knucklehead............
Sorry, but I hate the thought of Don't Stop Believin'. I think it's a great song, but there's no way Stevie could sing it. I don't mean this to be critical of her in any way......very few people can hit those Steve Perry notes. And I think those notes are part of what makes the song great, so I also think a rearrangement would turn the song mediocre.

If Bob Welch can cover Rhiannon then perhaps she should keep it in the family and consider covering this tracklist:
The Ghost
Dust
Future Games
Woman of 1000 Years
Black Magic Woman
Revelation
Tell Me All The Things You Do
Lay It All Down
Oh Well
Hypnotized
Green Manalishi
Night Watch
Dragonfly
Bermuda Triangle
Rattlesnake Shake
I guess the title " Stevie Nicks - Fleetwood Mac Before My Fleetwood Mac Years" would be a bit unwieldly but I would love to hear her cover these songs.

I wouldn't mind if Stevie did a cover album, but I'd much prefer a rock era one to a standards one (which I think is more likely, infortunately)
Some songs I think would be good....
Scarlet Begonias - The Grateful Dead (The Lyrics are perfect for Stevie!!)
The Mountain Wins Again - Blues Traveler
Mr. Tamborine Man - They Byrds
Listen To Her Heart - Tom Petty (gotta be a Tom cover on this!)
If You're Going To San Francisco - Scott McKenzie
California Dreaming (with Special Guest, Lindsey Buckingham!!!) - The Mama's And The Papas
Famous Final Scene - Bob Seger
The Best Of Everything - Tom Petty
Bed Of Roses - Bon Jovi
Into The Mystic - Van Morrison (In my fantasy cd, this is the title track)
Delta Lady - Joe Cocker
Just Like Stevie Nix - Calexico
The Last Worthless Evening - Don Henley
My Back Pages - Bob Dylan
Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
You Wear It Well - Rod Stewart
Annie's Lover - Dave Carter
and the bonus track....I know I will get flamed for this, so I will appologize in advance, but I've always wondered what it would sound like...
so....
Songbird - Fleetwood Mac (with ALL respect to Christine, btw...)

I know, I know:D...but I want to reiterate...I love Christine's song by Christine (and FM, of course) just thought, as this is a mythical covers album, it would be cool to hear Stevie's take on it...a cover's album is sort of 'in tribute' to the original songs anyway, so it would be Stevie paying homage to Christine's best song...

Also...........
Just about any Bob Seger song would be great, but I heard 'Rock N Roll Never Forgets' today, and that would just be awesome. It would be a major Tambourinefest! (But I'd want her to dust off the ol' mammoth 'Gold & Braid' one!!!)
And it's a given that just about any Tom Petty song would be great. It kills me in the Rolling Stone Photo Shoot video when she is singing along to 'Letting Go'. She just sounds fantastic. And I love that song.
Won't back down - Tom Petty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P93cI_u1mng
Long Long Long - The Beatles (GH) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkwvswpeuhE
Language - Dave Dobbyn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA76HmYl-Nw
Water of Love - Dire Straits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLvwMGURYOE

Julie With .... - Brian Eno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BU-NaoxrWo
Three Wishes - Roger Waters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juWHJCQGUq0
Bel Air Rain - LB (surely I don't need a link here!)

I think I might be able to answer this one. In the notes on the "Timespace" album, she talks about "Talk To Me" It was written by Chas Sandford, who also co wrote the song "Missing You" with John Waite. The melody to the song does sound a little similar to "Talk To Me". But "Talk To Me", is not "Missing You". They are 2 completely different songs. That's why I said that Stevie would do a great job singing that song because it does sound a lot like "Talk To Me", and I know she could do an outstanding job on it.:blob2:

I was thinking Hot patootie from Rocky horror! Actually I wasnt, that is just on the verge of rediculous. Ooh, verge (meaning edge), maybe she could re-record edge of 17, but call it verge of 70 9even though she is 10 years of it)? Ok, that has nothing to do with this topic, so back to matters at hand.
Meatloaf tunes for Stephanie.
You took the word right out of my mouth - but even more mellower, maybe accoustic??
It's all coming back to me now - But it has already been done by celine.
Anything sorta Bat outta hellish.

I've got another great one.
'Jealous Again' by the Black Crowes. The "Stop! Understand me..." part of the song would especially suit her so well! I would like to hear her do her own version, or sing it with Chris Robinson. Their voices would sound great together, and you can just tell the nature of that band would push Stevie to give a great vocal performance. Plus, it'd be another case of tambo-heaven.

Well, I'd like to throw a few songs into the hat ... maybe Stevie would be enthusiastic about and like to go back to some of the roots of Americana music that she was introduced to as a child ... some great old country swing or bluegrass ... I can hear her doing some early Hank Williams, Harlan Howard, Carter Family, Willie Nelson stuff ... like "Will the Circle be Unbroken," "Walkin' After Midnight," "Heartaches by the Number," or "Walkin the Floor Over You." Do you think others would accept that? ANd maybe get Lindsey on the banjo for a couple tunes ... I bet he'd play a killer "Foggy Mountain Breakdown"! Just a thought ...
Broken things - Julie Miller
I don't know why - Shawn Colvin
Becauase i told you so -Jonatha Brooke
Imagining -Judie Tzuke

I think if stevie did a cover of guy songs she'd do
1.Crash (of course just to capitalize on it being a great version)
2. New York Minute (it was one of my favorite songs to hear her on, when she toured with Henley.)
3. Night Moves (she did one Seger cover i can just hear her making this seductive.)
4. If I Ever Lost My Faith- Sting
5. I Need to Know ( it needs to be done!!!)
6. Misty Mountain Tops ( just the ahs would be great especially if she did them like they are on "The One")
7. Mr. Brightside- The Killers
8. Raspberry Beret- Warren Zevon version more than Princes
9. Wonderwall-Oasis
10. Throw in one original, like Ann Wilson did on her cover cd would be nice.

I LOVE the thought of all of this!!! "Midnight" would be fantastic! As well as any great Willie love song! She really should do a duet with him before he's no longer with us. He's big on duets, so it's not like she'd have to pull his leg. This is an idea I seriously think we need to start petitioning Stevie over! (Though it wouldn't shock me if he lived to be 105!) And the 'LB on banjo' suggestion is perfect!
