I read this article last night and it cracked me up, so I thought I would share.

I'm with the dude that listed Radiohead. I know people have a habit of falling all over themselves over that band, but I don't get it. Same for Coldplay. Because...whaaa???
Agree/disagree with anything on the list? Got another one that you'd add?

Of that list, I have to say the writeup for Conor Oberst is pretty damning.
Someone should have tackled Dashboard Confessional, too.

I agree with some of his bashings. However, Talking Heads and Beck are two of my favorites. I like Conor Oberst as well.

There isn't the proper smilie here to express my feelings about hominy.

I can deal with this authors opinion except for the Boss. Bruce has proved himself for decades and still puts on a hell of a good show. Along with being a very creative and talented artist, he is also a down to earth people loving person. Hard to find with a super star!
I would defend the Doors but they were a very unique (strange) group. And who would want to imitate them? I really don't think it would make much money or get a following if they did..

^i heard it starts fights at the one house.
I hope Zombie doesn't get upset with this off-topic banter. Maybe we should take it elsewhere.

Haha, I don't care. Off-topic crazy is something I have to really fight not to do in other threads so I don't get yelled at.
Besides, hominy is a destructive force that should be spoken of, lest the unwitting get caught in its nasty trap.

Out of those I love Talking Heads, u2 (with or without you is a bad song.....god this guy has high expectations) and Springsteen but I agree with the rest. I don't get radiohead. It's just the same dull tuneless stuff x 12 on each album. And omg The Doors are the most overrated band ever. They were supposed to be one of the best bands but they were just a garage band that got put up on a big stage. Have you heard Jim Morrison try to improvise? it's painful to hear.

I hate three on that list: U2, Coldplay and Oasis. The rest are great imo but I do think The Doors are seriously overrated. I love Radiohead's tuneless stuff, I think they are one of the most innovative bands to come out of the UK in years. But then I love Krautrock, so what do I know.

Hi David,
No, not always. I even saw them live on the Zooropa tour . It's been a gradual decline into dislike for me, I think Pop was the last album I bought. Now their music holds no interest to me but I'd still take them any day over Coldplay. I've never understood the appeal of Coldplay personally, at first they sounded like Radiohead with all the interesting parts and inspiration taken out and now they sound like a wannabe U2 band.
Edit: The new U2 single kinda reminds me a mixture of Muse and Queens Of The Stone Age.

I think Elvis Costello is okay, and I only really like one album apiece by U2 and Bruce Springsteen. A couple of them I've never heard of, and the rest I don't really care for. I'd probably add the Beatles and Led Zeppelin to the list.

U2 has seemingly appealed widely since about 1981-82 or so.
I don't know any songs of theirs since "Beautiful Day."
