Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here. I received some information a couple of days ago and I thought I would pass it along. I was handed this sheet from a very reliable source, so make of it what you will. Please do not ask me my source.

Well, I can see IDWTK actually. Hey, they can do it as a duo and it's from Rumours. Lindsey likes it even if she doesn't. I wouldn't bet money against it. It's the Hold Me that pierced my veil of suspended belief.

I was surprised to see "Stand Back" as two words, "Second Hand News" as three words, the "Again" at the end of "Never Going Back Again," & the "I'm" in front of "So Afraid" -- all of which are correct according to the albums, but none of which is ever referred to that way on the band's scribbled set lists.

I see some problems with the flow of the set.

ISA immediately followed GDW on both the Dance and SYW tours. Yet here it's the other way around with Silver Springs splitting them.

Also, NGBA between GDW and Stand Back = disjointed as hell. NGBA should be more towards the middle of the set.

If Christine isn't there, SYLM isn't played. This was the case on the SYW tour. If SYLM is played, however, then YMLF should also be there. It's absence.

Chances are this setlist is fake. Whoever wrote it obviously took the SYW tour setlist, threw a few songs in, and completely mutated the order.

Exactly. They're going to do is take the SYW tour setlist, take some songs out, throw in a few, and completely RETAIN the SYW order.

ok. so lets look at some facts here... well, more like assumptions (and yes, there is a huge ass in the word assumptions).
this "source", if it is real and true, could be a stage hand, audio mixer or god knows who.
this list could be songs they have attempted to practice and before the actualy show, songs are cut and moved around to make a better flow.
let's face it folks, these guys are getting old and not only is it hard to sing these songs, but learn to play them in different keys to fit the vocals. The ONLY suspicious thing I truly believe to be questionable is the word "sister" scratched out. Never in a million years would I expect Stevie to attempt to re-visit this song. Seeing that this song was traditionally played towards the end of the set back in the day, I bet this "source" thought it'd be a good prank at the time and then decided to scratch it off seeing that folks would pick up on it quickly.
But anyways... WHO KNOWS. It's still too early and if you all recall, the Nicksfix in 03' had an accurate set list posted weeks before the opening night.
It's still fun to dream. In my opinion, in music theory, I can see them performing all of these songs.

While I have no reason at all to believe that this is legit, I must say that it would make for a VERY good setlist. All of the hits, plus enough (I think) gems to make a cynical fan like me very, very happy :-)

Well the writing looks like the writing on may of the scriblled out Fleetwood Mac sets I've seen. If It's true I'm loving Blue LEtter, Crystal and Angel and hating that it seems they've crossed out Sisters for freaking World Turning. Also why is Say YOu Will the song they're choosing to do from SAy You Will. It should be Thrown Down, Destiny Rules or Illume.

Um, I have no problem giving this poster credit. There are plenty of people on this board who DO have connections, but just choose not to reveal anything. Plus, this set list looks realistic. It was rumoured that "Monday Morning" and "Angel" were rehearsed for the summer tour last year.

The only thing that gets me is that there is not one Lindsey song from SYW. I don't buy it, I feel like he loves that piece of work. He performed all of the songs from Say You Will, Live at some point (Miranda was tried at his soundstage, but couldn't figure it out).

Fallfromgrace84
01-29-2009, 06:47 PM
whatever they play, they will be songs they are comfortable with and within reason. was say you will even a hit? I hear it at the grocery lol but illume, miranda and thrown down certainly weren't even close (and unfortunately). lets stick within reason here guys. as bad as a die hard fan would love to hear sisters of the moon, running through the garden and destiny rules, we were blessed enough to hear beautiful child.

LukeA

(Miranda was tried at his soundstage, but couldn't figure it out).

Not really. It was at the end when everyone was shouting out requests (Miranda was one of them)- he strummed his guitar and sang one line of the chorus. It was over after six or seven seconds.

Ok, not relevant to my argument. My point was that he enjoys his SYW songs (IMO) and likes to represent them (look at his last two solo tours). I can't imagine him not doing ANY songs from that album.

So Afraid
Angel
Were those song hits?? They say this will be a HITS tour, but actually it would be a CLASSICS tour, cause they like to play many songs, great live classic like So Afraid, but I think never became hits in Billboard

Interesting to listen Hold me be S&L, though not sure it will work well

And I don't think this is a real setlist, it sounds more like a wish list

"Hold Me" worked wonderfully well in 1982 ... aside from the very minor point that Chris & Lindsey couldn't hit the correct notes on the verses, & the "harmony" came out sounding like two distinct phone conversations taking place simultaneously.

But the band kicked through it with gusto. I mean, really pumped it up & out. Yes, I think they should do it again this year. The same kind of ragged energy won't be there, but it would be interesting to hear how everything divvies up today.

Thanks because I am awfully sick of people saying it didn't work live in 1982. I've heard many versions from the Mirage Tour and it sounded great. It was nowhere near as polished as the studio track, but I think it came off a lot better than Gypsy did that year. I would bet that with all the backing musicians and vocalists now, it would sound more like the studio track (hold mee, hold meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee versus the 1982 hold me, hold me, yeahhhhh) and like you said, without the ragged energy of 1982 gone. Still, it's a great track and it was very popular and I too would love to hear how it worked out 27 years later!

Hold Me should definitely be in the set. It was a major hit, was played incessantly on MTV and hasn't be done since '82 (correct me if I'm wrong). I've never heard the version in 1982 but I agree that it could probably sound pretty darn good with the backing vocalists, instrumentalists, etc.

Although Chris did it on her 1984 whirlwind solo tour. Because people like George Hawkins & Todd Sharp were singing (instead of raggedy andys like Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham), the singing was on key & properly harmonized. But it had nothing like the wallop that FM kicked it around with.
