This song drives me bananas because I feel that it was so well-on-its-way to being such a powerful song..it's like 75% there. The singing, particularly during the chorus and ending is so powerful and melodic, and the instrumentation is terrific too.

I'll get heat for this, I'm sure, but I feel this is the kind of song that a great producer could say to to her (like she'd listen), "Stevie, go home and come back with stronger versus. Tell the story, give us more, be more direct...".

*sigh* It couldda been a contender.

Still, a favorite lost track.

What can you guys tell me about this song? How old is it and was it written by Stevie?

The song "My Heart" is on the TISL Safety Copy that I got directly from the WEA Music Company Germany. It was me who circulated the song. The Safety Copy has 16 songs on it, not 13 as it was originally released.

No, I will not post them and I can tell you why. As I've thrown out "My Heart" to the fans FOR FREE there were some ****ty people who have put this song on CD and sold it for good money at eBay. This still makes me VERY angry because this was not what I wanted. And even the people would tell me they won't do that I will not share these songs yet. The songs are the same as on the TISL release but just longer with some extra lyrics or arrangements. That's all!

Everything ends up on the Internet eventually. I've posted things to this board that have ended up on bootlegs on eBay (where I absolutely can say for certain that I was their source). Just because others profited off of my generosity doesn't mean I would have done it any differently- whenever I've had something to share that I could share (without getting anyone in trouble, etc.), I have.

No, to that time I was already sick with cancer and haven't been home very much. So I hadn't the chance to be on internet very often. (You can read this on my About Me page on my website....March '01). I got the Safety Copy two or three years LATER....AFTER the release of TISL. I've bought it from an estate sale of a former Stevie fan.

I'm not trying to place you in a bad light- its your prerogative, of course. If anything, I can empathize with you. I made a 30 second clip of an unreleased song, and people put the CLIP on bootlegs as an incentive to get people to buy it. How pissed off do you think that made me?

In the end, I made the decision that if I posted it, every informed fan would have it, and it would eventually be all over the place so that any fan could download it- which is exactly what happened. But, as I said- that was my decision, and you're not wrong for yours.

Well, I just said that I'm not willing to share them YET...this means not I never will! I totally can understand how you were pissed off seeing the people trying to get money with something you've thrown out for free. This was the same with me with the "My Heart" song. I don't have the nerves anymore to be angry about the **** some people are doing...but if I would give out some more songs for free and I would notice that there are still the same ****ty people around who are trying to get money with it...it would make me angry again. "offically" than we wouldn't have to worry(Yeah like as 'if' that will happen?LOL).....heck of the many 'hundreds' of songs Stevie is 'suppose' to have written through the yrs like how many do we really have.....has anyone totaled it up. Now you can go Fmac songs of hers or solo songs.....first go the released versions....than of the released versions see how many have alternates/extended versions etc.....now how many truely unreleased songs do we really have?? Than of those unreleased songs how many have different versions or outtakes/or extended versions.....or the same song done in different yrs?? Really it doesn't add up to much considering 'HOW' much she's suppose to have written and locked in the valuets?? I do wonder....other than her actual journels that she gets her songs from.....I do really wonder how many songs are truely unreleased and NOT ever heard of before??? This is something to just ponder....does anyone wonder about this too??? IMO anyway.....I'd love to hear any thoughts in regards to this......

with all due respect...what right do you have to be angry over something YOU should not even own...HELLO?? they are all illegal bootlegs unless the artist themselves okay's the release. i have heard it from stevie herself..she thinks ALL the people who own as well as share "her " (i say her because she wrote them and owns them) unreleased music are "disgusting." i can understand why you won't post them, but don't say you have "thrown out 'My Heart' for free." and refer to the people as "****ty" when you have no right to own it anyway. that's like someone geting arrested for selling sugar to someone instead of cocaine. don't try to look like some do gooder when you are not .beleive me...i have plenty of stevie/fm as well as other groups bootlegs but i certainly don't feel i have the right to get angry at someone if they sell a copy of something that i should't have anyway. again...with all due respect ...you need to look at what you are saying here and probably not brag about all the bootlegs you do have ...just keep them to yourself. Well, I normally wouldn't answer to such an UNFRIENDLY message you've posted. But I want to state some clear things to YOU....about "MY" photos on my website....I NEVER ever said that I'm the owner of these photos or have taken the photos myself. But 70% of these photos on my website are ORIGINAL photos I've bought directly from the photographer or are original vintage prints I've bought at eBay. 30% of these photos were traded with some very nice Stevie fans (I'm NOT talking about you). Many of these photos can be viewed on my website only and nowhere else. I've paid a little fortune through the years of collecting to get them together for my personal collection. So you can't expect from me that I'm making high-resolutions of the photos for which I paid little money so that YOU GUY can download it for free and maybe making prints of these to sell at eBay??? And before you are opening your BIG MOUTH, maybe you should take a look at the website. Now there are photos available that can be downloaded in bigger size and this now for weeks.
And one note to the "****ty" people....I'm talking about the ones who are downloading rare songs to sell them for big money at eBay. Since you are freaking out about this...well, maybe it was YOU who did it???
And last but not least....think first and READ CAREFULLY before you complain!

Well, I think...and this is my opinion...no fan can imagine how many songs Stevie might have written during her long career. It must be hundreds or more. Few times ago someone posted some Stevie song titles that can be found on the Copyright Site and there were some songs titles we (the fans) didn't know of. I remember that Stevie herself said in an interview that she's writing alot and even these are not complete songs there might be tons of verses in her journals or on pieces of papers or whatever. When doing a record many artists are writing alot of songs and at least only few songs will be put on the record for release. I remember that the band Coldplay said that they had 60 songs for their second album release and at least they had to chose 11 songs out of 60! So I guess that Stevie is also recording some extra songs...maybe 20 or 30....for each new album and we only hear the ones who are officially released...(and the ones who are not officially released :D)....

Here's I Miss You, all that's different is there's an extended instrumental piece in the middle. It's about 15-20 seconds longer than the album version.

Perhaps I got the discs mixed up and put them in the wrong envelopes. But the running order of my TISL Acetate is the same as the safety copy someone posted above. If someone wants to buy photographs from the actual photographer who took the pictures, by all means, hoard them away. I can understand that, to an extent. I don't quite understand the, "look at what I have but I'm not going to share..." mentality, but whatever.

However, the bootleg/demo thing makes no sense to me. These songs belong to Stevie, right? Can someone explain to me the point of having these songs but not sharing them? I mean, telling people they exist, that you have them, but not letting anyone listen to them? What is the reasoning behind this?

I said that I'm not willing to share them yet. I never said I never will share them. But now the problem is resolved so why should I explain about it? I've shared the "My Heart" song of which I knew NO ONE knew about this song before I've posted it. I've also posted other mp3s like the live version w/Bob Dylan "I Shall Be Released". So I'm definitely not a person who is not sharing something. And I don't want to fight for my mentality anymore...I really have other serious problems as this peanut.

If someone wants to buy photographs from the actual photographer who took the pictures, by all means, hoard them away. I can understand that, to an extent. I don't quite understand the, "look at what I have but I'm not going to share..." mentality, but whatever.

However, the bootleg/demo thing makes no sense to me. These songs belong to Stevie, right? Can someone explain to me the point of having these songs but not sharing them? I mean, telling people they exist, that you have them, but not letting anyone listen to them? What is the reasoning behind this?

This individual is very angry as you can see by my previous interactions w/her. I continue to stand by the fact that her website has a lot of great pictures ...but this constant bragging and stating repeatedly: "I'm not going to 'GIVE' these things away," is what is upsetting to alot of people...it's like dangeling a cookie in front of a puppy. she just ain't getting it. read the interactions i had w/her yesterday...very hostile. I capitalize words to emphysize the actual word...she is clearly screaming at me. I have the power to block....which i did..thanks for that ability.

A lot of people knew about My Heart before you...I've had it for a bit now. I wasn't around here back in 2001 but I'm assuming it got leaked around that time.

Accepted! I remember that someone mentioned unreleased material from the TISL album. I'm not sure but it can be that someone named "My Heart" title and I just said it exists....so I had nothing else to do as to post it....

No, to that time I was already sick with cancer and haven't been home very much. So I hadn't the chance to be on internet very often. (You can read this on my About Me page on my website....March '01). I got the Safety Copy two or three years LATER....AFTER the release of TISL. I've bought it from an estate sale of a former Stevie fan.

I am sorry that you were sick. How are you feeling now? Hope things are better for you.:wavey:

I'd like to know who the ****ty people are that are making the $$ off the stuff. This is sad & I do see both sides of the story.....Of course 'if' only this stuff would be released
"offically" than we wouldn't have to worry(Yeah like as 'if' that will happen?LOL).....heck of the many 'hundreds' of songs Stevie is 'suppose' to have written through the yrs like how many do we really have.....has anyone totaled it up. Now you can go Fmac songs of hers or solo songs.....first go the released versions....than of the released versions see how many have alternates/extended versions etc.....now how many truely unreleased songs do we really have?? Than of those unreleased songs how many have different versions or outtakes/or extended versions.....or the same song done in different yrs?? Really it doesn't add up to much considering 'HOW' much she's suppose to have written and locked in the valuets?? I do wonder....other than her actual journels that she gets her songs from.....I do really wonder how many songs are truely unreleased and NOT ever heard of before??? This is something to just ponder....does anyone wonder about this too??? IMO anyway.....I'd love to hear any thoughts in regards to this......
I do love the song 'My Heart' ...I think its one of her best songs ....unreleased songs that is........what a shame too......:shrug:
Now when I say 'supposed' to have written cause well none of us really know except what Stevie has stated in various interviews over all these years.......so it really is hard to tell.....unless you've seen or heard them.....no offence just some thoughts......:shrug:

I know that this discussion is none of my buisness but I just wanted to say thank you to all the Ledgies who post demos, outtakes, photos all kinds of stevie stuff on this site. I am a Stevie collector and I don't have that much stuff (cd's I mean). I am really greatfull to come to a website and see the newest downloads that are being shared by everyone. I am sorry that I can't do the same. My computer is old, and it won't let me do anything that I want to do, so I always have to wait till I get to my mothers and use hers (when I can). Plus I hardly have anything of Stevie's that are demos and stuff like that. Thank you to everyone who participates and posts stuff to share with other fans. And it's ok if someone doesn't want to post their stuff. They have their reasons why, but at least we can be happy for them that they do have something and they are sharing with us that they are proud to own something so valuble and precious to them. I love to hear peoples stories and stuff they own, when they got it etc. I love talking to people and hearing their Stevie stories. I love stories period. I guess it's cause I am a writer, and I want to be inspired. Sorry for busting in on a conversation that wasn't any of my business, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Thank you for helping me make my Stevie collection grow. I love listening to them in my car.:wavey:

I'm sick again for over one year now and now I have to file an application for a pension because my doctor says I can't work with these healthy issues I have. This means I will have very less money when I do get the pension. But I'm happy that I'm still alive. I'm always saying myself that there are people out there who are more badly off as I am. The website I'm working on is a nice turning away from my problems. I will add more pages to look at when I'm feeling ok. I'm also thinking about to make a "Giveaway" page because I do have some nice originals photos and stuff on Stevie that I didn't sell at eBay and that I want to give to fans for their personal collection. I have many ideas and I hope the fans will enjoy the website.

Thank You! Well, the "giveaways" are double stuff that I have in my collection and that I couldn't get rid off at eBay. These are nice and I don't want to throw them away. So I like to give them to fans who can't spend too much money on Stevie stuff or who don't have the items. I've just added a the "Stevie and her blue lamp" page to my website. I thought there were more Stevie with lamp pics but this are the ones I have so far. Enjoy!
