If I make it to a show, this would be an awesome song to hear!!!

Lets hope that (unlike '03) they actually mean it this time. It would be a great song to start the show, and save The Chain for later in the show.

Before we start parading in the streets, let us remember the tantalizing morsels she threw out just before her 2005 "Dreams" shows in Vegas. That was a letdown beyond letdowns.

I saw her in Irvine once... she kept starting landslide.. and then she would start laughing. The crowd would go wild, cos she did it like 3 times in between songs. Then she said, "maybe later"... and then never did it!!! I believe it was around summer of 1985 or 86 can't remember...
I was drooling waiting for her to do it... :(
I was really young at the time and really sad afterward that she didn't do it...

This would only work for me if Chris were there and did Dreams or SOTM or GDW.
I have a feeling they will massacre any Christine songs attempted.

It was summer 1986 and it was actually the Pacific Ampitheatre in Costa Mesa .I was there too.She also knocked over her mic that night and when the roadie came on stage to set it back up she she held up her hands as if to cast a spell and said "Ill put a spell on you " and then mumbled "Lindsey would kill me if he heard that" .

Monday Morning? I'll believe it when I hear it. What Stevie promises is never as expected. Perhaps her recall of the song was off ... and actually it is Second Hand News or something.
But if so, I hope the set list offers other songs they haven't done in a long time, and less likely...songs they've never done!

I agree. That song sounds GREAT in the LIVE album, it would be a refreshing start for this tour. I love The Chain but it needs a break.

Oh yeah she was the proverbial four sheets to the wind..but in spite of or maybe because of it she still put on a great show that night ..as bad as I was myself in those years I'm still amazed at how clear my memories from all those shows still are.

Yeah she was so loose and spontaneous .The reason she kept singing bits of Landslide is because someone yelled it out as a request..I didn't rush the stage for the Edge walk as I was probably too high myself but my two friends did and she actually spoke to one of them when he gave her a gift.I also recalll the crowd was in such a fervor she had to stop and hold up her hands for them to chill out as they rushed the stage. What a night.

By that time I believe she was likely more stoned and drunk than coked up .Her doctor already had given her the warning that her next toot could be her last so she was using it more sparingly and offsetting it with the weed and booze IMO..now when I saw her in '83 on The Wild Heart tour that was pretty much all coke.

Yes! The Chain needs a break! lol I love when they began opening with it back in 1987...but then it remained there for years. It's too predictable and rote now. I liked it as a near-closer during the Rumours tour.
During the Tusk tour it was usually played second to the opener, which was a real kill-joy from the pace set with the opening song, usual Say You Love Me. It was a great version, but they performed it at a dirge-like pace.

Actually, wasn't The Chain the second song from the later days of the Rumours Tour all the way through the Behind the Mask Tour? On Tusk they opened with Say You Love Me, and then towards the end Monday Morning. Mirage opened with Second Hand News. Tango opened with Say You Love Me again didn't it and then The Chain second? In 1990 they opened again with either Say You Love Me or In the Back of My Mind (which segued into The Chain). They didn't open with The Chain until the Time Tour if I'm not mistaken, and then it's been the same ever since. It's time for a change, that's for sure!

REGARDLESS... Why is it titled: THE CHAIN (Keep Me There)??? In my song book that is how it is written and I don't understand why... I do want them to play it, but I am afraid I will lose the groove if it's not first... Ya know? I used to it, it comforts me, lol. I don't mind if it's in a different place, I just want it lol.
So does anyone know the answer??? Cause I am lost... Why the, "Keep Me There?"

I thought that little Christine song was called Butter Cookies (Keep me there) Maybe it's a printing error.

Or, you could use the forum's search function, going off the bold assumption that maybe others have discussed this song before you thought to be curious about it.

They should open with Tusk and do it a la Talking Heads Stop Making Sense... start with the sound effects guy, maybe the extra crew, then Mick on the drums, then Mac on the bass, then Lindsey on guitar, then Stevie on tambourine. . . and the song kicks it off!

Okay- that kinda was hard to follow without being able to hear the songs, as they have been removed from those sites. I appreciate the information. I never think to research from this site. I guess I gotta figure it out. Also, I had no idea that you had been a member since I was in high school! WOW!
