Hi, I've posted this at some video sites I frequent but can't seem to get answers there so thought I'd try here:

I just bought this tower:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pavilion-Elite-m9402f-Desktop-m9402f/sem/rpsm/oid/222766/catOid/-12962/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

...so you should be able to tell from the listed specs what will work on it

Anyone know of converter software that's Vista compatible I can buy that will convert from and to all of these?

FLV to MP3
MP4 to MP3
VOB to MP3
MPG to MP3

PAL (VOB) to NTSC (MPG)
PAL (MPG) to NTSC (MPG)

NTSC (VOB) to PAL (MPG)
NTSC (MPG) to PAL (MPG)

I know they always say to try the trial versions first but I wasn't sure if trial versions of some are fully functional or not and I wanted to find this out first since I've tried some trial versions and I don't know if it's because many aren't Vista compatible or what but they keep making my system crash (used to use Total Video Converter on XP but I guess those days are over) so I want to make sure that this wil do what I need before going forward with it this time since what I'm looking for isn't that complex but most I've found leave out at least one of the above scenarios etc.

There may be free tools I could use but they seem rather cumbersome and because I'm a newbie at this, I don't mind paying for it as long as it's user friendly and will convert what I need it to convert sucessfully. So can anyone here recommend the most user friendly one out there that will do this for me?

Thanks in advance for the replies. :)

Anyone know of converter software that's Vista compatible I can buy that will convert from and to all of these? I use AVS to convert videos.

AVS looks good ... is it free? :wavey:

To convert video files to audio, I use AOA Audio Extractor, it's really quick and easy to use. (free) http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm

I used to use SUPER for all my converting but it's gone a bit buggy for me lately, maybe it'll work for you! (free) http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html

They have a trail version, but one would want to purchase for full benefits...relatively inexpensive IMO.

ps Sahara sorry I dropped off on getting you those denver mp3s...

I use several different programs.

Sorenson Squeeze is rockin' and easy to use, but is pretty expensive - unless you are willing to be nefarious, of course. ;) http://www.sorensonmedia.com/

I also use NTI's Media Maker, http://www.ntius.com/, which is a lot less expensive, works on Vista, and should do all the stuff you need.

No worries my friend! If you still have them I'd love it if you could still upload them, at your convenience, if not it's no biggie. :xoxo:
