These videos rock. "Out of the Cradle" was the best period for Lindsey- physically speaking.

Here's an interesting vid I found yesterday that probably should be in the FM category, but I want everyone to pay attention to LB when FM goes up the second time. He's toasted. And isn't this the event CAH speaks of in her book? Could she have gotten something right:

I know, right? Poor Lindsey. It was the AMA and, uh, didn't he spew all over Dick Clark's carpet a few seconds after receiving the award? What a night for him.:blob1::lol::laugh:

I think even on the L & O album his cheeks aren't as defined as I was used to seeing them both before and after this era. Guess he was just a little fuller. I always say he looks gorgeous on that album cover, but he doesn't look like himself. I can't sense the sharp angles of his personality in those images.

In this particular tv clip, he looks green.

Thanks for posting it Niki. I hadn't seen it.

First of all, let me say that i did this video just out of pure enjoyment. the back up i recorded myself entirely on my keyboard, i taught myself both parts just by watching Fleetwood mac videos here on YouTube.
If it seems like the song kinda ends abruptly thats cause i ran out of room on my keyboard for more of the song. lol ENJOY! ;]

Perhaps they should kill that embrace off. It's starting to look extremely rote, and we all know how much Lindsey lives for the rote.

Maybe they could be really hokey and turn Gypsy into a full-on dance number reminiscent of the video, with Stevie and Lindsey trying their best to keep in synchronization. It could be ridiculous/dangerous with his guitar and her boots, but it would give people plenty to talk about.

And I know some of you guys didn't care for the gray suit, but seeing as he went back to the exact same outfit I will always feel special he rocked that hot mess at my show, even though it wasn't a mess but was definitely hot.

Fifth row on the right side. I didn't meet anyone. Actually, I was just getting online for FM at that time. So, I didn't have any contact with any other fans at all. The first review I ever wrote for a show I attended was for that show and that's about the time I started participating on a forum regarding FM. Hadn't done that before.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2zPdVoxEdNA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2zPdVoxEdNA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I didn't know he did Crossroads! How can I not have known this?! Big country fan here and I love that show because so many of my favourite artists work together. Just googled it and found out it was with Little Big Town, cool! I must find out more... I'm going to look for a setlist.

Just found a .rar file with all the ripped audio songs from this show. Here's the link:

Yeah, the puke/Dick Clark carpet incident. He apparently drank a ton of alcohol and mixed it with Quaaludes and pot. I can only imagine. He was like 140 pounds. It would take absolutely no time for that mess to hit.

I'm pretty sure that I saved it off of youtube the first time it was posted because it was absolutely HILARIOUS. I did feel for Linds tho, he was definitely a hot mess. Luckily Stevie kind of reeled him in.

However, everything that I've saved is a complete disaster and titled by those funky youtube titles (a54tre6d and what not). I'll take a gander this evening and see what I can do. Can I post something like this to mediafire or should I just throw it back up on youtube and see how long it lasts?

And although it was a bit off (not surprised), my goodness, I was not disappointed!! Linds was MESSED UP, I really felt for him there. I'm not sure he would have made it if Stevie hadn't grabbed his arm. Or held him up at the podium. Great stuff indeed. And I'm glad to be of assistance, everyone should see this :)

She totally had his back. No doubt, she was right there for him from the first woobly step to the last. Yes, she flew up those stairs with her platforms boots and full length gown/dress on to get to him. He reminded me of Dick Van Dyke with his Scarecrow legs, :angel:ha ha ha, holy crap, that could have been real bad. But they pulled it together long enough for him to get to Mr. Clark's office, well if that even happened at all now. CAH seems to have a different version of the stairs incident, I'm not to willing to believe the rest of her story now, even if it did happen. Anyway, Stevie to the rescue.

Awww. You make it sound romantic. Puts it in a whole new light for me.

Of course, this reminds me of another incident in CAH's book. I don't know what happened on the plane, but when we saw that concert after the spinal tap, I think the band looked solicitous enough onstage that I didn't believe Carol's description of them totally ignoring him on the plane after that either. I didn't believe they were mad at him about it. We have that limo tape and they don't sound mad. Christine is just wondering what she should say when people ask. She wants to know if she should say he has epilepsy and she even says that Lindsey would be a hero if he could do a show. Stevie doesn't say much, but she sounded like the idea of a spinal tap freaked her out. They didn't sound like: "Now, we're going to have to cancel shows because of him! Grrr. "

macfanjbb

12-11-2009, 05:41 PM

It makes me think about what CAH says about the hat thing too. She says lindsey came back to his seat with his hair messed up, but he has the hat on the whole time. I wonder if she is misremembering the truth or if she purposely changed the story.

ragrsrocalot

12-11-2009, 05:59 PM

Yeah, and like all the other BS she says Lindsey was saying to her, she is full of sh!t, if there was a chance to make herself look good she took it, even if she made it up. In her book she was quoting all these lovey dovey things, remembering celebrities at the ceremony, who was wearing what outfit, how Mr. Clark was so rude to her, but yet she tried to throw the Mac under the bus by saying they didn't help him, and as this video shows, that was completly not the case, CAH is a liar, well in this case anyway.

Yes, I think he would have. And I don't really think there was anything romantic about this situation, just Stevie helping out a guy who was obviously completely out of it. It would have been pretty embarrassing had he fallen, which he definitely may have, had Stevie not grabbed him.

To all the SnL romantics: I got love for your musings. Even if I'm too pragmatic sometimes, I've often admitted when I sensed the "love" between them. I've even admitted to seeing some these days, when he's purportedly happily married and she's doing her own thing. But in this circumstance, I think Stevie was just being a good person. If a little old man was about to fall over I think she would have done the same, and obviously no romance would be involved.

See, that's further proof that CAH is just lying benefiter. Whenever it benefits her story, she lies.

However I do know that sometimes at these award galas people switch seats. Don't ask me why, it's some kind of standard. They all hop around and play musical chairs during breaks.

But I really don't want to lend any credit to CAH bunch of detailed lies, with bits of truth thrown in every other chapter. I still find it funny Lindsey Buckingham- forget Stevie- has said nothing on the matter of this book. I know it's all been arranged for him never to be asked or say a word about it, but it's cute how he totally just ignores her BS. He's one of those "silence is the deadliest weapon" types. :)

I've said it before - and I'll say it again - they are speaking volumes without having to say a word by doing "Storms" in this current set. Totally intentional...

Yeah? Then we should ask Carol Ann to write more books, with titles that we want to see in the set list.

^^ Nice find. Thank you for posting. Lindsey is a character. He frames the discussion himself based on decades worth of interviews and then when it's presented to him as the interviewer's own words he says, "Well, I wouldn't look at it that judgmentally." He's the one who judged in the first place -- not to mention that the Dance was over in 1997 and he didn't start on SYW until 2002. So, why no solo album in the intervening 5 years?

I downloaded that AMA vid (I can tell you it plays fine on Windows 7) and it's hilarious. Stevie saving Lindsey was too funny, and the second time around, he did look like he gonna throw up on stage. If that happened, that'd beat Adam Lambert's performance there any day of the week.

Now, I think I have a good vid for you guys. Catchy song I wish they still did and he still looks hot all sweaty.

I love seeing this footage, and how the audience (and band) was so hyped up. Stevie, however, as she is prone to do sometimes, looks completely indifferent - like she's just phoning it in, with very scant commitment. Her languid and elusive demenor is in stark contrast to the energy of the song, the band and the audience. She was in her own strange weird world.

Yeah, I've seen this whole concert and Stevie didn't really have me impressed at all (it was probably a combo of long tour and being on God-knows-what), but the rest of the band was killer in that show, and this song is just another part of it. I wish they still did this song, along with Sisters of the Moon. :(

Say Goodbye. If you have the Live in Boston CD or DVD you can hear the speech. It's too long for me to transcribe. But something along the lines of "little gain without some loss and little redemption without forgiveness."

They did a great version of the song. It's cool to hear how very disparate artists cover Fleetwood Mac songs. It really shows what an influence they have been to a such diverse group of people.

Yeah, it's pretty bad :distress: Pathetic in fact.

Most of his videos are actually still on Youtube, but they just don't show on his channel. All the ones he shot on his tour ( except one ), plus the videos for IWY, FDJ, etc. and track commentary vids for LRD and WFY...all posted by his channel ( but not accessible from his channel! )!

Ok, I wish there was some way that show was available on dvd or something. That's some worthwhile, epic stuff that should be given more attention for goodness sakes.

I don't get how artists have no problem re-releasing and repackaging the same tired stuff but the really awesome stuff they give no concern about. I mean, I realize that this stuff is not always in their control, but come on, this is their legacy. There are people that love Fleetwood Mac just because of Lindsey and Stevie. I have met these people and conversed with them, and they ONLY care about these two and nothing else. And there are more!

I'm sure releasing some of these things would be a worthwhile effort, to say nothing of Buckingham Nicks for crying out loud. ;)

I was at this show.

It was a good show for me, except that wasn't it good enough. I became a Guided by Voices die-hard that night (note: I went home and listed to GbV's albums, "Alien Lanes" and "Isolation Drills," and now am currently a roadie for Guided by Voices, so that night ultimately turned out good for me). The sad thing is, this is EXACTLY the thing I live for these days...That he said it was a one-time thing, and really hasn't done it since, has soured me on Lindsey. Linds, if your fans are saying you should do a song, DO IT!!!

That's impressive. Apart from some -by the way beautiful- glitches, this captures actually some of the original emotion of the song. I love it.
try to record a version with an attempt on improvising the solo. You can do it!!! Rip that klavier to pieces!

This is the best video. This is the one I'm going to save. So excellent.

I don't know quite how to explain this, but sometimes -- I don't know if it's raspiness or what -- sometimes in the past 8 years I've felt that Lindsey's voice has not been distinct, where you don't actually hear the quality or timbre of it.

It's like when I have chili and there's so much pepper in it that all you taste is the spiciness, the bitter heat, you don't taste the tomato or the individual flavor of the other ingredients. Sometimes, that's how Lindsey's voice has been.

But here, you can really get its tone. Sweet, clear, rich. I love it. But I loved his voice at the Saban too. Take the last 8 years and his voice has been better over the last four than it was in the first four.

Well, Lynn was there too. It would have been odder if Kristen had not attended. She would have looked petulant and jealous if she hadn't shown up. I wonder if Lindsey calls her "Kris" for short.
