Hey everyone, I am trying to find a Christmas album to buy for my sister for a present. She especially wants one with "Little Drummer Boy". I was going to buy her the Alexander O'Neal Christmas album My Gift To You cuz that's my favorite, but it's out of print! By the way, I always thought "Little Drummer Boy" would be a more appropriate song for Stevie than "Silent Night" (which is a song maade for Christine to sing, actually... but I digress).

Anyway, not only am I asking for suggestions, I thought this would be a fun thread that would be useful to many people during the holiday season.

Here are some that I love:

Christmas With The Beach Boys (http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Beach-Boys/dp/B0002Y4TY2/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1229366763&sr=8-1) (no "Little Drummer Boy")
Chris Isaak Christmas (http://www.amazon.com/Chris-Isaak-Christmas/dp/B000A2GDRW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1229366866&sr=1-1) (no "Little Drummer Boy")
A Christmas Album (http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Album-Barbra-Streisand/dp/B000TV4QXC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1229367004&sr=1-1) - Barbra Streisand (no "Little Drummer Boy")
My Gift To You (http://www.amazon.com/My-Gift-You-Alexander-ONeal/dp/B00006LHXL/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1229366939&sr=1-1) - Alexander O'Neal (out of print)

Okay, it's not an album, but you wanted "Little Drummer Boy" and I couldn't resist posting this clip of Grace Jones popping out of a giant wooden crate in a breastplate and doing the hula while she sings that song:

Thanks, Pee-Wee!

James Taylor has a new Christmas album - - I never get tired of listening to his voice...

and he has a refreshingly bluesy version of Jingle Bells:

Ya can't beat Vince Guaraldi's "Charlie Brown Christmas."

Another album that's become a favorite of mine in recent years is Sarah McLachlan's "Wintersong"

I'm kind of partial to A Very Special Christmas 5 because Stevie is on it & sings Silent Night. I don't know if you can get it in stores anymore though or even iTunes.

Neil Diamond has two Christmas albums vol. 1 & vol. 2

He's Jewish, but sings nice Christmas carols. He even has the old Cat Stevens' song "Morning has Broken" on volume 1

Well, I don't know how old your sister is, but I also like Daryl Hall's & John Oates' Christmas CD called "Home for Christmas". I'm listening to it right now @ work. Sorry, but no Little Drummer Boy in it.

Lee :)

Trans-Siberian Orchestra has three incredible Christmas albums. Christmas Cannon Rock is one of my favorite songs. It's on their third Christmas installment called "The Lost Christmas"

My favorite album with Little Drummer Boy is the Ringo Starr Christmas Album. It's a lot of fun.

My faves without Little Drummer Boy are the Christmas albums by:

Jethro Tull (So good I listen to it year-round)
Leon Redbone
Aaron Neville
The Fools
Brian Setzer (2 X-Mas albums)
BB King

You just made me all teary-eyed. I often imagine Kirsty (and Johnny Marr) in the Mac. it's true.

I really like Alex Band and the Calling version of Carol of the Bells. Been playing that song lately and a bunch of oldie Christmas music.
