I absolutely love Sara on Tusk, Disc Two, demos, roughs, and outtakes. I think it is the best recording of any of her songs. That's all I wanted to say really, this is my very first thread. Thanks for any responses!:)

welcome to the ledge galestreet...i have to agree that sara is one of the best songs fm ever did...i can never get enough of it...i'm not too familiar with the sara ur talking about altho i have a few sara's the majority of which are live recordings...if and when we get soundstage sessions u'll see stevie did a fab job of this song by her lonesome and i wish she would put it back in her set list...maybe she leaves it out bc of time constraints or something as it is or tends to be a long song but i don't care...anyway welcome again...hugs pat

She leaves it out because the song requires a great arrangement, subtle guitar/drum work, a relaxed easy going vocal delivery, all these things cannot be accomplished by her band and musical director. Stevie is too lazy to make it work.
I prefer she leave it out rather than massacre it the way she has since 1980.

It may just be one of those songs that don't transfer well to the stage, but I thought she did a wonderful job of it on Soundstage. Actually, I think that was the best live version I've ever heard. I know it wasn't FM, but they did a great job with that song.
I think it's an emotional song too, but a beautiful one at that.
