Another piece of current info to prove my point that Miz Nicks is still relevant.

^ Are you equating popular with relevant? I'd argue that Ann Wilson isn't exactly relevant either, iconic for sure (like Stevie) and she's getting more votes than Stevie.

The story is about her (wilson) so it is not surprising that she got alot of votes. Part of being relevsant is how one is viewed in the public eye and how topical one is. The fact that Stevie may steel the spotlight from the person that the article is about says a lot about our Miz Nicks.

But I am not getting into yet another argument proving that she is relevant. So nuff said.

Stevie only needs about 450 more votes to catch up!

I'm confused, you brought it up but you don't want to discuss it?

I rarely see Stevie in the press so I don't think she's particularly topical, personally, and that list mainly pits her against other artists from the 70s and 80s. The most up to date artist there is Sheryl Crow!

There was another thread where her relevance was discussed. At this point it is a matter of opinion. Some say she isn't some say she is.

Being on a list to vote for the best female rock vocalist of all time does not make one relevant today. I notice Pat is on that list too.

I voted for Stevie, but I would have to say that technically Ann is the better vocalist. I assume most people are doing what I did - voting for their favorite, not the best; or we're so biased that we refuse to believe that anyone else could possibly be better.

I think the internet is obviously having a hand in these results - Heart & Stevie/Mac have so many fansites & message boards compared to other older/classic artists, I'd be willing to bet that even though it's been pretty dead around these parts lately, they still see more traffic & more "come on guys, you have to vote!" posts than, say, Janis or Grace Slick's boards (assuming there are some.)

And btw - our girl is now getting her ass kicked by about 1500 votes. :o

YES IT DOES!

Getting mentioned in the Q&A section of Parade magazine makes her relevant to the 50+ age group. Next thing you know, she'll be urging you to check your blood sugar so the 'beetus doesn't get you.

You're really gonna have to let it go, sport. As much fun as her ride was...let's face it. The glitter has long since faded, and the feeling does not remain. Unless you can count the feeling of making money beating the dust out of a tired act year after year.

And no, I don't think Pat Benatar is any better than Stevie Nicks.

MikeSschmike. Sounds befitting to me. I let it go a while ago. Sounds to me like you are kinda bitter that she won't perform your fav obscure song live. Boo hoo time to get over it pal!

I couldn't care less if her entire setlist was entirely made up of obscure songs. The fact is that there is no passion there anymore. The songs that still gets to me were done at LEAST 25 years ago. No bitterness here! Just accepting of the fact that it's time to get over it.

But hey, it's your money and your business. Do what you wish. :wavey:

Sorry for the broken heart Theresa. Maybe a lil' lube would fix it! :xoxo:

YES IT DOES!

By that logic, Pat Benatar is relevant too. I thought you said she wasn't relevant in the other thread. Which is it?
