Talk about worse and awful. At least the notion behind BD is pretty cool as is her double entendre in the "understanding me, understaning you" line. Other than that and perhaps in spite of Waddy's guitar (esp. on the reissue) -- the song is a sonic flop and the blue denin analogy is, at best trite. Did I mention her voice drones on as well.

The Leno ending, however, was killer, despite the fact that she is singing over what sounds like a prerecorded track.

As for Greta -- OY!

I don't really mind Blue Denim, and I had no doubt it would win this face-off; it's always seemed to be everyone's favorite off this album (which is an absolute mess and deserves every bit of ridicule it gets, IMO - and The Other Side of the Mirror isn't much better). The fact that Greta made it to the final round while Street Angel and Destiny were voted off fairly early just boggles my mind.

I voted Greta mainly because it is not a "single" and so it sounds fresh and just a little edgier than BD.

I love Blue Denim! When I got Street Angel and that song came out of the speakers, I was very pleased with it and felt she redeemed herself after my disappointments with TOSOTM and her BTM contributions. I think the album mix is so superior to the mix she included on the Enchanted set. I can see how she (or her producers) felt that some of the music she created for Street Angel sounded a little flat or dull and needed a re-tool. The Street Angel version has so much more going for it compared to the Enchanted version, adding the Hammond and additional guitar made all the difference in the world to fill the empty spots out. In fact, the first time I listed to the version on Enchanted, I double checked the sound levels on my stereo because something sounded 'wrong'. In this case, Blue Denim really benefitted from a little TLC.
So, I voted for Blue Denim!

I vote for Greta, I like the lyrics and I like 'where will the kings go'. I like the way Stevie asks questions through her characters in her songs. I personally don't know where the kings go but there might be one that stays and in the words of David Bowie,
I, I will be king and you, you will be queen, though nothing will drive them away, we can be heroes just for one day, we can be us just for one day.....

now why don't Stevie and David sing a song together, I think it would be extremely cool:angel::angel::angel:

The "single Mix" is the best out of all the versions.
