One of the massive fires currently raging in Southern California has encroached upon his area. Hope he's okay, and his residence is safe.

The WCATWC gives prelim Mw as 7.6. I'm not terribly alarmed with that -- it's a small magnitude for generating a destructive tsunami. What you really need is an 8.x or higher to give the beaches a good bath.
