I remember seeing this on tv and thinking how natural and relaxed she looked in her jeans. I marvel at how fit she is. Michele

Wow! Thanks. I never saw that. I loved it. She looked good--and natural. Not made up.

I couldn't stand the music playing in the background the entire time.

Yes thanks for posting this up, great for those of us in Australia who never get to watch this stuff normally!

Interesting how Christine says that she doesn't actually like that Christine Perfect solo album. It just confirms my opinion of it!

If anyone is interested, I'll eventually be posting a few more CM videos that haven't been posted before.

A few months ago, I got a DVD/VCR recorder to transfer all of my tapes to DVD. I just got a new computer with a DVD burner, so I can now post a few things that most people have never seen before.

I strongly disagree with Chris about the 'Christine Perfect' album. I think it is a great album and really showcases her keyboard skills more than any other recording she has ever made. It's true that her voice has improved with age and practice, but it was already very good at that time. Some of the songs were rushed, but it was a blues album, and by definition blues is a little rough around the edges. I suspect that she dislikes that album because it seemed "unfinished," not polished as her later FM recordings always were. It's too bad the interviewer was so badly prepared that she didn't even know of that album's existence before Chris mentioned it; if she had been better prepped she could have asked Chris WHY she doesn't like the album, or at least said something intelligent about it.

Chris' comments about Bob Welch's contributions to the Fleetwood Mac sound were very interesting. She seemed very willing to give him a lot of credit for developing the type of vocal harmony which is probably the strongest identifying feature in the sound of the band.

The interviewer seemed to genuinely like the 'Rumours' album, but it was unclear to me whether she was familiar with Chris' and FM's other work. She didn't ask any questions about specific songs, for instance. She hardly mentioned Chris' keyboard playing.

Some of Chris' responses were interesting in that they showed how far removed from the whole music scene she had become. For instance, when the interviewer asked if she was planning on making a video, it was obvious from Chris' reply that she hadn't even thought of it.

It's too bad that Chris always equated performing with touring. She doesn't usually say she doesn't want to perform any more -- it's always phrased that she doesn't want to tour any more. Plenty of performers do occasional individual shows without the bother and expense of touring. I wonder if anyone -- Dan, for instance -- encouraged her to schedule any small, local shows to promote the album. The interviewer did suggest that Chris perform one show and put it on DVD, to which Chris asked how much money she had. Did this mean that if someone had financed it, Chris might have done such a show? ("I need a sugar daddy ...") Too bad the moment for such a show has passed.

Chris used the word "infinitesimal" twice when I think she meant "infinite." Cute.

Thanks to MacFan for posting this. It's always such a pleasure to see our beloved Christine.

Majorly crappy interviewer -- not because she "wasn't familiar" with Christine's career but because she had nothing of any insight or extraordinariness to ask Chris. A typical moron of the DJ/VJ variety -- nothing to say but garrulous regardless.

But Chris is beautiful & interesting, as always. Thanks for posting, Mary Anne.

What a nice treat! It's like rapping with Chris in your own living room. I'll go make us some tea! Thanks so much Mary Anne.

This was really cool. Bob and Christine deserve a lot of credit for redefining the band's sound. They worked intuitively--and sometimes blindly--but it was definitely rewarding.

I tend to agree, but I was being kind to the interviewer. The word that comes to mind is "lightweight." But Christine more than made up for the interviewer's fluff.

Another thing that was wrong with this interview was that they didn't play any clips from 'In the Meantime.' Typically if an album is being promoted on an interview show, they'll play a song or two or at least segments from a song, but all you heard was that annoying, unrelated background music.

Thanks so much for posting. I have this on VHS and because none of the VCRs work, I haven't seen this in a long time. If mem0ry serves, there were music videos played in-between the segments, one of which was Landslide from The Dance. (No Christine :distress:)

Yes, there were music videos in between the interview segments. Since they didn't include Christine, I deleted them. Unfortunately, I couldn't get rid of that awful background music.:(
