I just got back from an advance screening of the romantic comedy Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, which managed, remarkably, to be both funny and actually romantic. Clocking in at just under 90 minutes, it's probably the best date movie I've seen all year.
It plays out on a musical landscape that should resonate with many here. Also, it features refreshingly non-stereotypical gay characters (Nick's two best-friends and band-mates) who are major supporting players and two friends of mine (Nora Burns and John Cantwell), appear in one scene as featured performers during a scene set in a bar.
