I watched as much as I could stomach of that "debate" (how loose can language get?) before turning it off.
Listening to both of those clowns depressed me. And I want politics to AMUSE me!! The democrat offers nothing but lame periphrasis & circumlocution (he wouldn't know a specific if it slugged him in the face) & the republican irritates one with a really annoying speech impediment (he has a hissy sibilant whenever he pronounces "s"). Both of them sound like lobbyists hiding inside their speechwriters' gorilla suits.
When I listen to these clowns speak, my reaction is similar to Mary McCarthy's reaction to Lillian Hellman: Everything they say is a lie -- even "and" & "the."
If either one of them said to me "It's a nice day," I'd immediately assume he was full of ****. I hope they both implode.
