Great Day Parody [Archive]

I record a VERY BAD parody of Great Day. I recorded random guitar sounds with random effects placed very late so they are off beat, I did the mic taps, I distorted gibberish sounds as percussion, sang very badly using a LOT of reverb, and put a completely out of place guitar solo at the end. ENJOY! I made sure everything was one take. It took me about an hour.

This is a humourous tribute to Lindsey. I adore his work and he's among my all time three top guitar heroes. I really like him, so don't get the wrong impression.

I could do that. I thought it was fun recording this. :lol: I actually wanted to send you something more serious if you PM me your email. I tried completely improvising something based on a theme and it turned out okay, despite the warts in performance. I thought you might like it.

No AJ. It turned out dumb. I've got a tremendously big and broad sense of humour, but yours isn't fitting in.

No, I just simply refuse to engage your nastiness and am insisting on taking everything you say literally, while cheerfully ignoring your insults. :) I find it frustrates the other person a great deal more while I can be in a great mood without anything you say upsetting me. :woohoo: In addition, you end up looking like the ass, not me.

No, it's just that I had other things going on in my life and never got around to recording it after my statement as i said I would. After all, there is life outside of Fleetwood Mac. I have a job, a family, a school program I'm finishing. I stayed up late after finishing a group project and laid this down before I went to bed. I was just plain too busy to spend any length of time on it, especially since the idea is a waste of time to begin with. Why would you even bother challenging me on this?! This is so stupid. :laugh: A wannabe would be the guy who spends time tearing down what was supposed to be a joke. You couldn't even do as well as I did even if you were trying to seriously imitate Lindsey. What's clear is that you have nothing better to do with your time than pick on a guy you call a wannabe. Point is that I said I was going to spend time on this and I had too much going on to do what I said I would. I barely have time to record the stuff that is serious, much less waste time on tripe like this. Hell, it even took me two days to get around to posting it. Given that this is a guy who says that I can't "cut it" but confesses to never hearing any of my actual work, it's pretty clear to anyone who has heard it that you don't know what you are talking about. Go to iTunes and download "Only One" or my version of "Classical Gas" and you'll change your tune. Otherwise, you can continue to blow smoke out of your ass. Hell, I'll even email you the tracks for free! Go revisit the link and you'll see a second tune there. I wrote it and arranged it, as well as played the guitars on it.

Believe me dude. You don't want me seriously commenting on your recordings. You simply don't. And you can forget the fact that I will take my time, precious time to spend it on ego's as big as yours. I enjoy sharpening my english by responding from the heart to posters that irritate the sh*t out of me by their attitude. I can't really speak english, but I tend to be quite visual when I don't think about it but type from the gut. You've been the best trigger in years.

Go ahead and listen, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I invite you to. There are samples posted on my website under "Listen". Sometimes the harshest critics are the people to listen to. Hopefully you'll be more articulate than the person who said, "uh this band sucks, let me smoke another bowl". :laugh: Can you put your personal dislike of me aside and just listen and comment with an open ear? Tommy Emmanuel plays a variety of things in there with "Gas", he didn't write it either. He's a fantastic guitarist. The BEST version is actually one Jose Feleciano, or the one Mason does on his Handmade LP, which is almost the same as mine with a few differences. Tommy is a very flamboyant guy, kinda like the Liberace of the guitar. My teacher actually wrote this, this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mguzKze1sYo. Mason Williams. He likes my version just fine.

Laugh all you want. :laugh: I actually have video of him teaching me "Gas" when I was 15. I'll mail you a copy. PM me your address. You'd probably call him amateurish too. :)

Also, check out both of his websites, www.classicalgas.com and www.masonwillians-online.com. I'm in his "friends links" list, right next to Tommy Emmanuel nonetheless. Also, my website has a picture of me at Mason's studio with him and our guitars in my photo gallery. I also have over a decade's worth of correspondance and sheet music we've passed back and forth, all with personal notes that I could scan and email you. He even re-wrote some of his compositions for me when I learned different styles. I even have handwritten manuscripts of his and unfinished albums, practice tracks, tapes and CD's he's given me over the years, licenses he gave me to use his work. If you emailed his assistant, he would also confirm that we've known one another for 12 years. I'd rather not bug the man himself, since he's a relationship I value, especially over some penny ante web feud. Unless you actually want me to do that, you might just acknowledge that I'm telling the truth.

Here's a simple equation that hopefully even a ledgie can follow, although I've been surprised at how little attention your average ledgie can pay, or how little simple logic can be followed:

Attacking me = me talking about me and posting stuff to contradict your accusations of lying or any other BS and personal insults hurled my way

Not attacking me = me talking about something besides me

If you don't like my saying stuff about things, don't attack me on it and I won't try so hard to pummel you. Make sense?

Play nice and I will too! What a novel concept?! :shocked:

Let's go over this one more time to make sure that you understand:

Now, this means if I post a lighthearted parody meant to be funny, that means either like it or dislike it, but namecalling will result in more arguments. If you simple state an opinion on a topic that is not a personal attack, I will not try to fight you. If you hate my parody, great, everyone can have an opinion. If you say, for example, that making a parody makes me less of a human being in any way, I will argue with you until you tire out.

Let's go over this simple ledgie proof formula again:

Thanks, they might find I'm a nice person when I'm not being challenged 24/7. In their defense, I do become and intolerable a$$hole when someone challenges me personally or says I didn't do something I did. I don't lie about things like that, I don't feel the need to. I think a lot of people around here just have serious issues. :laugh: I mean, like me or don't, but there is no reason to start these pitched battles over silly things. They become much larger things and it upsets me.
