Obama's fairy tale of being an anti-war hero has another chapter, because according to the Foreign Minister of Iraq, he was urging a delay in an agreement between our two countries. This report says he was trying to stall an agreement on reduction of troop levels, but Obama says he was only delaying an agreement on a "strategic framework agreement", whatever that means. His campaign would probably be happy to leave people confused on the matter.
OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS' IRAQ WITHDRAWAL (http://www.nypost.com/seven/09152008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/obama_tried_to_stall_gis_iraq_withdrawal_129150.htm?page=0)
Regardless, it is a felony to negotiate with foreign governments without authorization.

I do not think Obama negotiated with the Iraqi govt. I think he went there for an official visit as he is a member of the Senate:
Senate Foreign Relations Committee
Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
and
Committee on Veterans' Affairs
Clearly any of those would allow him to go there, but it mainly was the first.
As for but delaying an agreement on a "strategic framework agreement", I have to say I agree with him on this because the phrase but "strategic framework agreement" is more Bush double speak; it is meaningless.

Ok, that was pure stupidity. Call the police and bore people no more with such nonsense. Surely the 9-1-1 operator will treat you with the sincerity such nonsense demands.

His mother is Lucianne Goldberg. From his Wiki:
Jonah Jacob Goldberg (born March 21, 1969) is an American conservative commentator, syndicated columnist and author. Goldberg is known for his contributions on politics and culture to National Review Online, where he is the editor-at-large. He is the author of Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning (ISBN 0-385-51184-1), a #1 bestseller[1].

Goldberg's career as a pundit was launched following his mother Lucianne Goldberg's role in the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, when he wrote about the "media siege" on his mother's apartment in the The New Yorker.[4] [5]
Goldberg has spoken of his mother and the Lewinsky scandal:
My mother was the one who advised Linda Tripp to record her conversations with Monica Lewinsky and to save the dress. I was privy to some of that stuff, and when the administration set about to destroy Lewinsky, Tripp, and my mom, I defended my mom and by extension Tripp...I have zero desire to have those arguments again. I did my bit in the trenches of Clinton's trousers.[6]
These tapes became the focal point of the Lewinsky scandal. Jonah Goldberg was privy to the tapes and the conversations Lucianne Goldberg had with Tripp because he served as a vice president of his mother's now-defunct literary agency. When the scandal broke, Goldberg defended his mother and Tripp during the ensuing media firestorm.

Some frequent topics of his articles include censorship, meritocracy, liberty, federalism and interpretation of the Constitution, his attacks on the ethics and morals of liberals and Democrats, and his disagreements with libertarians also appear often in his writings.
Goldberg is a supporter of the Iraq War and has advocated for American military intervention elsewhere in the world. He has defended historical colonialism in places such as Africa as more beneficial than it is generally given credit for; in one column, he suggested that U.S. imperialism on the continent could help solve its persistent problems. [9] When he wrote in October 2006 that going in was a mistake, he called it a "noble" mistake and still maintained that liberal opponents to the war policy wanted America to fail: "In other words, their objection isn't to war per se; it's to wars that advance U.S. interests... I must confess, one of the things that made me reluctant to conclude that the Iraq war was a mistake was my distaste for the shabbiness of the arguments on the antiwar side." [10]
He popularized and expanded on a commentary by the late Time writer William Henry III. Henry had written on the subject of multiculturalism and cultural equality, stating that "[i]t is scarcely the same thing to put a man on the moon as to put a bone in your nose." Goldberg stated that "[m]ulticulturalism—which is simply egalitarianism wrapped in rainbow-colored paper—has elevated the notion that all ideas are equal, all systems equivalent, all cultures of comparable worth." [11]
[edit] French-bashing, Francophobia, and anti-Europeanism
Goldberg has publicly admitted being a French-basher or, as he writes, being in the "frog-bashing business," using the derogatory term "frog" to designate the French: "the frog-bashing business has changed a lot since I first started just a few years ago" [12]. He has also called for "the total destruction of France" by which he means "the destruction of France as an idea" [13]. Some commentators, like Brian Dunaway, consider that Goldberg's attitude towards the French is francophobic: "The poor souls that visit Goldberg’s columns know that he has made Francophobia a favorite pastime" [14]. Other commentators, such as Timothy Garton Ash, explain Goldberg's attitude, among others, by a deeply rooted "anti-Europeanism" in the United States of America [15].
Goldberg also claims credit for popularizing the term "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" to refer to them, even though the phrase was invented and popularized by the television show, The Simpsons.

Lucianne Goldberg's Wiki entry:
Her career started at the Washington Post in 1957 followed by a year working at the Democratic National Committee in 1960. She became a consultant to the White House staff under President Kennedy in 1961 for two years. She set up Cummings and Associates in 1963.
Decades later, Jeffrey Toobin's book A Vast Conspiracy alleged that Goldberg claimed to friends that she had an affair with Lyndon Johnson while working in the White House. [1] After Goldberg threatened Random House with a libel suit, a Washington Post writer claimed he and others overheard her bragging about an affair with Vice President Hubert Humphrey as well. Goldberg denied both affairs and denied telling any such stories. [2]
In 1966, she married Sidney Goldberg, an editor at the news syndicate North American Newspaper Alliance and Lucianne Goldberg did occasional freelance work for the syndicate. During the 1972 presidential campaign she joined the press corps covering candidate George McGovern, claiming to be a reporter for the Women's News Service, an affiliate of NANA. In fact, she was paid $1000 a week by Richard Nixon operative Murray Chotiner for regular reports about happenings on the campaign trail. She said "They were looking for really dirty stuff...Who was sleeping with who, what the Secret Service men were doing with the stewardesses, who was smoking pot on the plane--that sort of thing." [3] [4]
Goldberg set up her own literary agency in 1972. One of her clients, celebrity biographer Kitty Kelley, sued Goldberg in 1983, charging breach of contract, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty over proceeds from Kelley's book on Elizabeth Taylor. The jury awarded Kelley $60,000, but the judge reduced the award to $40,000 and dismissed the ruling of fraud. [5]

Goldberg met Linda Tripp in the early part of the Clinton administration while assisting an author writing a book on Vince Foster. Tripp spoke with Goldberg resulting in Lewinsky bringing the tapes to her in 1997. [7] Goldberg also urged Tripp to take the tapes to Kenneth Starr and brought the tapes to the attention of people working on the Paula Jones case. [8] She started speaking to reporters about the tapes in the fall of 1997, notably to Michael Isikoff of Newsweek. [9] Within days of the scandal breaking on the Drudge Report, the Democratic National Committee circulated an "information sheet" to reporters with information intended to damage Goldberg. [10] Goldberg spoke at an anti-Clinton rally organised by the Free Republic.
Although Goldberg was deeply involved in the Lewinsky scandal, Starr never subpoenaed her to testify in front of the Grand Jury. Starr never explained why he did not subpoena her.
[edit] Commentator
Following the impeachment scandal, Goldberg has launched a conservative internet forum called lucianne.com. Lucianne.com is similar in format to the Free Republic; Goldberg was a prominent poster on Free Republic but (according to Free Republic) she had a dispute with the forum's founder, Jim Robinson, over the direction of the forum. Goldberg sought a forum to promote the Republican Party while Robinson sought to promote American conservatism regardless of party affiliation. Thus, Goldberg and several others left Free Republic and lucianne.com was born.
Though the forum does not allow "Articles from hate group sites such as KKK, Aryan Nation, American Nazi Party, etc." [11], it has been criticized for racist comments posted on its forums. Mark Lane, founder of the now defunct website LucianneWatch.com, complained about the website's content to the US Marines, prompting them to pull their advertising from the site. [12]
Goldberg also launched a talk radio program.

Yeah - I am aware of the whole Goldburg/Tripp/Lewinski connection and his conservative outlook. I wasn't sure what other "dirt" on him there was, other than his distasteful political views.

I don't know about you all, but I am so tired of all of this piddly crap in this election. It is doing nothing but distracting people from the real issues....and it certainly isn't helping the American people.

The funny thing is this . . . my best friend's husband went to college with him. When she got married, both Jonah and I were in the wedding. In fact, we had to walk together at the ceremony and sit together at the reception. This was prior to his marriage, and I think my crazy friend has some illusion that because I was in law school at the time, and Jonah was into politics, we would find each other's company interesting. Frankly, I thought he was a pompous ASS.
This was all prior to the Clinton scandal because I remember after the wedding, when the scandal broke wide open, I saw him on TV and thought "Holy sh*t! That was the guy from the wedding!"
