The Crystal (Beautiful Ghost)

[David]

I'd like to start a thread about this song because I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH.

This is the mystic. . .
But I just can't seem to get back to the crystal.

If & when you want it,
If & when you believe it.

[Gypsy0033]

So she stays there silently
Praying...
I have waited for you all my life
And now I am doubting...
And the time is running out
She stays, still frozen to the ground

Great song.

I really like this song too, it's great! I hadn't heard of it for a long time since no one ever talks about it. Super song. :D

Will someone post it? I'd like to hear it again. It's my favorite (except for "All the King's Horses").

I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET BACK TO THE CRYSTAL!!
(but Johnny Stew's recent posts are helping)

[Bella Figura]

I love the lyrics, almost every turn of phrase is intense and has resonated with meaning for me at certain points in my live

but the music is a bit stale for me especially the guitar work...need to bring in John Shanks to update this demo...lol

"I was going down fast..."

"you did not have to trust her, she never trusted you"

"that you can walk on water, if and when you believe it...this is the crystal"

Not exactly sure how my recent flurry of Ledge activity is helping you "get back to the crystal" -- but whatever works for you, my jocose friend!

Ahhh, David. You and me both. I can't get enough of All The King's Horses. When it plays when friends are around, everyone always comments on how good the song is.

[SandyMac]

I am loving this. Thank you for posting it. What era is this from? I am guessing Rock a Little era?

[nailatixela]

It's from TOSOTM era.

It's from TOSOTM era.

Ah, that was my second guess. Thank you.

[StreetAngel86]

just throwing in my love for this song too!
it's my 2nd fave demo after Prettiest Girl

WHYYYYYYYY can't Mama rework this on her new record

the chorus-y part is my fave

Like a beautiful ghost
Well, they said that you can walk on water
If and when you believe it
If and when you want it
This is the mystic
This is the crystal
But I just can't seem to get back to the crystal

The lyrics on this song are AMAZING. I haven't listened to it in a long time, so thanks for bringing my attention back to it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing! And thanks to David for bringing to my attention a beautiful demo that I've never heard before. Stevie fans are the greatest!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing! And thanks to David for bringing to my attention a beautiful demo that I've never heard before. Stevie fans are the greatest! Isn't it rockin'?!

Someone said it should have been on the album. I said, "No, it should have BEEN the album."

I know. Isn't it a shame that it seems like the songs that we like more never make the cut???
