If FM tours in 2008, I wonder if Lori will go with them, now that Jessica is older -- if that's what was keeping her off SYW tour.

ps: Is Chris actually a photographer? On his website it says "galleries coming soon" when I try to learn more about his work. And there's a street light pole in one of his sunset pictures. Maybe he's making a statement about modern society encroaching on nature's beauty? His modelmayem page creeps me out for some reason. But maybe that's just because I'm creeped out by him in general.

Also, how does one become "really into" fire performance?

I think Jessica looks a lot like Lori as well, Sorceress.

It's odd seeing pictures of a blue haired, fire-breathing, pierced, tattoo aspiring Jessica juxtaposed to the little girl standing next to Stevie.

The whole modeling thing of Chris and Jessica might be just a phase. It was creepier to read "this is for you Daddy" more than anything else. Is this what Chris wants for Jessica? Hopefully she'll find some balance and get to college and not get sucked up into the seedy world of modeling. There's just too many people that would try to take advantage of a 16 year older.

I was actually trying to imagine a situation where a parent would think it was a good idea to encourage his/her kid to play with fire.
There's a line between being alternative and unconventional and getting wrapped up in something that ends up being unhealthy. I'm trying not to be hurtful and pass judgement on a 16 year old kid--but my gut reaction is to wonder what Chris and Lori (or at least Chris) are thinking. You're absolutely right about the "this is for you" thing.
God, I sound so old. I'm as tattooed and liberal as anyone. But kids need something to rebel against.
I'm off to my ivory tower now. :wavey:

which i give her credit for, it'll would be a lot easier to just get on the ride but she wants to make it herself, which is cool.

I'm not quite sure if shes well suopervised...lol..I believe she just left for something called "The Burning Man" in las vegas w/ her boyfriend and a couple friends. I know my mom would never let me go anywhere like that when I was 16. God going to the mall was big deal hahah...She also drinks and smokes..but then again she is a teenager....We all experiment

I think Stevie and Jessica look a lottt alike.

I think the blue hair's kind of cool :)
I'm the same age as her, though, so it's very common for me to see kids with funky colored hair, piercings, lots of make up, the works. I myself went through an 'I-Wanna-Look-Like-Nicole-Kidman-In-Practical-Magic" redhead stage. Which looked awesome, just sayin'.

And about if that's the path that her parents want her going down, when you think about it, if her modeling career doesn't work out, they've got money up the ying yang. She'll have the opportunity to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants.

I've seen her going on's on MS for quite some time now. While I feel sorta like a creepy voyeur, she has it all in public, so what's not to be curious about? Her business is just that, her business, but SINCE it's out there for all to see, you can't help but be concerned about her antics. From the get-go as someone put it, she's been trying so hard to be different. ANYTHING but what her MOM, not Aunt stand for. Prior MS & random bloggings have her saying crap about her mom, and it's just sad. Mom's can be your best friends, but for whatever reason, this isn't the case. Her parental influence seems to be Chris, and imo this can go no way but down.
I tried to email her one time and let her know, that yes, I am a Stevie fan, and yes, I know she's Stevie's niece, but really, if she pursued arts, I think it's a good outlet. Dance (fire & belly) are fantastic alternate outlets, both of which I was into (seemingly 100 years ago). lol I made mention of a couple teachers and events she should look up if she plans to pursue either art for real. I got no response. Didn't think I would, but my reaching out was sincere with no motives.
Pics of her smoking, or w/ hickies are purely for shock value, and "board" banter. If her Mom were more in the picture, she'd have a little bit more class, and not invite the world into looking AT her instead of at her.
She's a beautiful young lady, and I just hope to heaven she is on the inside as well, and goes into whatever she chooses with knowledge and wisdom instead of glossy eyed youth.

Maybe part of the problem--and it sounds like there might be one-- is the money out the yin yang. At the risk of sounding old again (for reference, I'm 34): No one in the Nicks family has really had to work in any conventional sense since before Jessica was born. People gain purpose and direction through work. I hope that at some point she is able to direct her creativity and self-expression into something productive, rather than into just rebelling. I hope she learns how regular people live and wants to make it on her own, rather than riding Chris' Stevie-riding coattails. I hope SOMEone in that family is telling her she needs to go to college. For something, anything--art, dance, theater, or where ever she finds interest and enthusiasm.

I couldn't care less about the blue hair and piercings, though I think my kids will have to wait til they're 18 for any facial piercings. The way she looks doesn't mean anything about who she is inside. She may have to work harder to prove to people who judge her that she is something more than her hair color, but that is a choice she makes. I guess that is what I REALLY hope for her: that she IS something more than the rebellion--that she is FOR something in addition to being just against her mom and societal norms.

Thanks for the insight into the photography thing. That's what I thought.

On the smoking, etc: I don't want to act like I didn't do those things too. I did. Hell, I just quit smoking yesterday. Most kids at least TRY drinking and smoking, and hate their parents too. What comes of it depends on lots of things, like how the parents react, the kid's temperament, how responsible they are about it, the people they hang out with, and who they hold as role models--the whole picture. I guess what bothered me about this situation, (coming from my perspective in the mental health field and as a parent), was that I was getting a freaky "whole picture" vibe, AND that she is doing all this so publicly. At least she could have the discretion to post things privately so nosey fans like me wouldn't be all in her business! :D :o

I will need to get used to the fact that in addition to all the normal pain in the ass issues of parenting teenagers, I will have to worry about whether they are using the internet safely. (No offense to underage Ledgies intended!)

I guess we know who inherited Stevie's fishnets.

I remember Stevie's response to non-family members, Madonna and Britney, a few years ago when she said in the press:

"Spears and Christina Aguilera should wear more clothes and try writing decent songs."

"I personally have never been to a strip club, but I turn on MTV and see in every single video what it must be like to be at a strip club," Nicks said.

"I think the mystery is gone, and if you have no mystery, then you aren't even sexy.

"Real sexuality and sensuality is in the music, and all these girls, vis-a-vis, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and on and on, should go back to writing songs and start over because it won't last and they won't last.

"When they are 55, they won't be around and that's sad because I think a lot of those girls are very talented. But they are signing their own death warrants."

Hopefully Jessica has the sense to not let anyone take advantage of her. She's certainly advertising who she is, and there are those that would definitely try. "the other side of the" camera. She's still a baby!

I don't think she looks like Stevie, really. I think she looks exactly like Lori. I didn't know that her and Lori didn't get along - that's a shame. And an even bigger shame if she is looking to Chris as a role model. I'll bet Stevie is freaking out about the path that Jessica seems to be on right now. Or, hell, what do I know? Maybe she isn't. She always talks about how great Chris is and he's a slimeball so maybe she doesn't see anything wrong with Jessica expressing herself. '

I was no angel, for sure. I was drinking and rebelling at 16. But I had limits. There is no way in hell that my parents would have allowed me to go off for a week with my friends and boyfriend (as in the Burning Man with Jessica). Because she has connections to famous people, she probably has the ability to easily get into more trouble with drinking, drugs, etc. And for that trouble to be overlooked. Just my two cents. My parents would have flipped out if I had posted pics of myself like that online. Of course, "online" wasn't an issue when I was a teen.

Just browsing and ran across this. http://people.tribe.net/nixi

She says she lives with her boyfriend. Clearly no parental control. How many 16 year old girls are allowed by their parents to live with their boyfriends?

CharmedHour

The colored hair is one thing, that's not really a big deal to me, but as for the piercings and the "living with the boyfriend" at 16, I wouldn't let my daughter do that.
I'm 23 and I'm not married and I don't have kids, but if I did, I don't think I would have too much to say about the colored hair. Just the living with the boyfriend and smoking. I don't have anything against smokers, everybody that I work with smokes, but at 16, you're still a kid, and if I had kids I wouldn't let them get piercings (with the exception of ears) until they were 18. There's no way my parents would have let m do that, but then again, I wouldn't have wanted to. I didn't have a boyfriend until I was 18.
My grandma cried once when I drank a margarita infront of her and she told me she "had such high hopes for me." Mind you this was 3 months after my 21st birthday. But I guess that doesn't matter because she did the same thing when my mom who is obviously older than me, drank a glass of wine infront of her.
I think she went off the deep end when she cried over it, but she is an emotional person and she is very extreme. The only thing I can think of is that when she was my age and older, she was a "partier" so to speak, and she denies it of course, but I also wonder if she is worried that I will fall into what she did...

Yes, my mom buys me Smirnoff Ice...but only for special occasions and I only had 1 maybe 2..I dont drive after I drink..even if I have one. BUT after my graduation I had an entire 6 pack just for me HAHAH I also had a few beers...I was gonna party it up...I showed up at my friends house later drunk HAHA I'm PRETTY sure her mom didnt notice HAHA..Since when i drink I'm pretty much the same but funnier and laugh more

Jesus, my parents would have dropped kicked me if I would have merely suggested living my bf when I was 16. In regard to her pictures, gotta love one wherein Jess is wearing a bikini top with a huge marijuana leaf on it.....classy. I personally find a lot of this stuff weird (blue hair and piercings aside).......I just hope she's not headed down the wrong path, though it appears that might be situation.......

Wow. Firstly let me start by saying that I wasn't an angel at 16, but I certainly had boundaries and pretty strict parents. So a lot of what this girl is doing I can't relate to. The worse thing I could get away with was skimpy clothes under my Catholic School uniform and escaping at night to make out with my boyfriend at my best friend's house. On a Friday or Saturday to top it all. She's, well, from a different generation and I guess we have to sort of look at it from that perspective, although I'm not sure I can even accept the whole "living with boyfriend" and posting pics of this like.At 16??!! Um, I'm kinda old-fashioned I suppose.

Didn't I read somewhere that she really liked Lindsey and he was teaching her guitar? Is this the same girl?

She's very, very pretty. I don't know if she's got much Stevie in her. Maybe the mouth. She looks a lot lankier.

Is she turning 17 anytime soon? Maybe that will make it more passable.

It's obvious that Chris is letting her do whatever the hell she wants to try to be the cool parent. He's being her buddy, not her dad. I know someone in the same situation right now & it's very upsetting. She'll eventually realize that her mom was trying to what's best for her & raise her to be a good person with good values - hopefully before she gets into too much trouble (whether it's a disease, pregnancy, drug addiction, alcoholism, etc.)

I know someone in that situation too. Thankfully she didn't get into the type of trouble we're talking about, but she's got all kinds of weird emotional issues as a result that are keeping her from living a happy, productive life.

Honestly, he probably doesn't see anything wrong with it. I don't think it's a conscious effort to win her affection. I see it more of a desperate attempt for him to cling to youth through his daughter. I laughed when reading his comments about how much he learned from Herbert Worthington and Neil Preston, because judging from all the crappy tour merch. he has been responsible for, he still has a lot to learn.

I agree that he doesn't see anything wrong with it - he probably thinks he has a great relationship with his kid. But I think it may very well be a conscious effort to get Jess "on his side." This is just my opinion, and yes it's based on rumour & gossip, but everything I've ever heard about Chris is that he's not a good person - the words sneaky, liar & user have come up countless times in regards to him. I can totally see him trying to "get back at" Lori by being the cool parent & getting Jess to "like him best." Again, JMO. I realize I don't know them, but that's what's going down in my situation so I think it's a possibility.

Again, I can only hope that Jess grows up & comes out of this without any permanent damage. Lori must be devastated.

OH - and I agree with whoever said Jess looks exactly like Lori.

I don't think everyone should be so hard on her. Or say such negative things. None of us personally know her  Some of my friends are what you'd call "myspace whores" but they're by no means bad people. If I judged them only by the comments and pictures they make online then they probably wouldn't be my friends. But they're a lot more than that.

Jessica most likely just wants to be her own person and be accepted for HER, rather than be just associated with the Nicks name. And if she is using the name to her advantage, so be it.

And I think I'd be a little rebellious too, growing up in that family. Heck, everyone wants attention don't they?

What a thoroughly pleasant child...

You know, if someone says something nasty about you or your father (particular when it may hit a nerve) you can be the bigger person and just walk away. It may sting and it may anger you, but if you don't retaliate the original person just looks horrible and nasty. To call them a the 'c' word (which I absolutely hate) is going below their level.

She seems very angry, as well as playing up to the whole rebellious image a tad too much. I don't even understand what she'd be rebelling against - I'm sure whatever she'd ask for she'd get. Her aunt is the famous one, not her parents.

She's obviously holding her own with modelling, but she might want to take a page out of her mother or aunt's book and see what the definition of 'class' is. She's certainly lacking it from what I've seen.

Good luck to her. In a few years time she'll come round and realise how she was and cringe.

I can only hope.

He's had the same twenty something year old Stevie groupies blowing him since he was their age. This one's been doing him since TISL and wasn't much older than Jessica is now when she took up with him thinking it would get her near Stevie. It didn't. It got him a divorce. Lori is lucky to be rid of him. Chris uses his sister's fame to get at Stevie's groupies. The groupies throw their youth away on a loser they wouldn't give the time of day to if he didn't have a famous sister they're obsessed with. Somebody needs to get Jessica out of that situation before she ends up as big a loser as Chris. She still has a chance to be somebody and live a normal life if she were shown what normal looks like. No way she's seeing that living with Chris and his Stevie groupie. Lori is probably powerless in this situation. How sad.

Oye.
I think I need to bathe in bleach after reading this.
When FM did their last SYW concert in Camden, a few of us were near the stage pre-show. Jessica came out with a little dog. I don't think half of us realized it was her for a while, we just were interested in the dog;-) But, she plopped herself down on the stage, introduced herself and just chatted with us.

She was the sweetest, most together child you could meet.

Boy, Chris managed to ruin that, didn't he? And, yup. I put it squarely on his shoulders. Because at this point in life, a dad needs to be a Father, not a friend. And let me tell you, I'd be shipped straight to the nearest convent if I picked up a cigarette at 16, never mind lived with a boyfriend or wore a skirt that was so short you could see what was and wasn't waxed. But, Chris is the one taking the pictures! Way to go, Father of the Year! Maybe you can sell Dirty, Foul-Mouthed Jessica "Don't Mistake Me For My F***in' Aunt" NICKS shirts for the bargain price of $295!

Sooner or later, if Stevie's had enough, she's gonna cut off the money. They better have socked some away on their own.

Well people do change...especially when your a teenager..trying to find yourself..Someone can be the nicest kid at 13 and then 4 years later be a complete BITCH...also people who you hang around with can influence your behavior. I guess she's just hangin' out with the wrong people.

I agree that Chris is the problem. He IS being too much of a friends then a FATHER. Especially when your that age you need a FATHER and not a friends to help guide you in the right direction.

Ah, the youth of America...I feel so proud of our hopes for the future

If my soon-to-be 16 year old niece talked to me in that manner that the Nicks kid talked, I can guarantee ya her Dad would 'stump her growth' (She's ONLY 5'-11"...and ODDLY genetics played a joke on my bro cause his daughter looks like alot like ME...tsk, tsk, tsk - poor kid!!! ) by kicking his foot so far up her ass she'd have to open her mouth so he could tie his shoe strings.

I had coloured hair and piercings when I was 16. I actually think her hair looks great.
But the half-naked photos of a 16 year old girl on the internet is plain creepy. I mean, her dad thinks photos like this one is okay? But then Chris Nicks is an expert in creepy it seems.

Why doesn't her mother get invovled. If I was pulling this crap [not that I ever would, I like saying I'm in NHS thank you verymuch] my mom would kick my a$$ and cut off whatever money she gave me soo fast it wouldn't even be funny whatsoever.

Still, had she responded w/ a thank you....I mean, that's a hell of a way to make friends should you ever try to continue accomplishing. Still, whattya expect form a 16, 17 whatever teen year old in this day and age w/ a famous relative?

Seems to me she is trying WAY too hard to get attention.....like SHE wants to be noticed, and not just because her aunt is famous. Everything she posts, including the photos scream "look at me". If you follow the chain, in one posting she claims to be a lesbian. The girl is seriously screwed up. And Lori gave up touring for the kid to turn into this train wreck? Her family must be so proud.

I am 100% percent on Team LORI.
The only thing worse than having a spouse cheat on you, is if that spouse also happens to be Chris Nicks, who clearly has a more pronounced influence on Jessica's sense of entitlement and growing narcissism("a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy.")
I still say Chris poisoned Lori with a odious "love" potion using a hint of belladonna, eye of Newt and whatever expensive Potpourri he could steal from Stevie's house - total Serpent & the Rainbow, Seventh Sign or Angel Heart scenario. He had her impregnated with another woman's fertilized demon egg. Satan's (i.e. Chris) is the dad. This way Lori can walk away from all of it - her hands completely clean, and not culpable for Jessica's hostility toward people who love and respect her aunt. Lori writes the million selling book which becomes a blockbuster movie that serves as a launch pad for a reality TV series starring Lori as a bounty hunter.

I think we have to at least entertain the possibility that Stevie might not only be merely aware of Jessica's "career"/lifestyle choices, but has an active, complicit role in supporting them. I mean, two ****ty parents aside, Stevie is, after all, a recovering drug addict with a cadre of Hollywood types still managing her life & career.

I do not agree with you there. Yes Stevie had a past, she would not want
her neice to walk the same path. I don't think Stevie's head was screwed up
at 16 or 17. Jessica is not going to listen to anyone but daddy. Just because
Stevie is her aunt, doesn't make her repect Stevie anymore. I am sure Stevie
is very annoyed at her actions and she is taking Lori side on this one.
Hopefully Stevie stops the cash and lets us neice know the difference of
living a rich life and and not having everything you want....

I agree.
If you're a recovered anything, you tend not to want other people to go the same route. Especially a dearly loved niece.
Especially if you are an aunt who has never had kids of her own and views Jessica as the keeper of the flame, so to speak.

But, Jessica sounds like she isn't listening to anyone right now except people who kiss her feet. And, sooner or later, a rude awakening is in store.
Drop the "Nicks" part of her name and show up to a regular modeling agency asking for a job.

That ought to be step 1 in realism lessons.

Wow, Im just picturing that magazine back from like 2001, that took a tour of Stevie's house, and there was that picture of Stevie, Lori and Jessica sitting at a tab;e, Jessica looking so cute and inocent and the 3 of them appearing so happy, and just as recently as SYW her singing on Say You Will still looking so innocent, this just makes me feel so sad expecially for Stevie and Lori.

And to whoever said, Lori gave up touring for her to turn out like this. Well she seemed to be doing OK all those years she wasn't touring with Stevie, it's only the past few years that this rebellion has been rearing, now Lori is back touring with Stevie, so Lori might've still helped.

Or scenerio number two and it was the other way around, Lori saw this situation we didn't see publically and is back touring with Stevie to escape and be surrounded by adoring fans who love mainly Stevie, but she sure knows Stevie's fans love them 2 back up singers who wonder why these danmed chickens are here.

And this makes me wonder what Stevie's thinking. Maybe this is the real reason she's in france. Maybe Rhiannon in the Rhiannon movie is now a rebellious tennaged niece witch.
Who's side would Stevie be on, Lori or Chris. All I ever hear is negative on here about Chris, but Stevie talks so danmed lovingly about him.

Stevie will always say nice things about her brother. She is the only who can
bad mouth him. I am sure she has had words with him, but not in public. She is probley disappointed in the way he is raising his daughter . Stevie can only
do so much. I think Lori touring with Stevie is one of the bright spots in Lori's
life. Stevie still refers to her as her sister-n-law, and I am sure that makes Lori
very happy. Stevie is not stupid, she may be letting her spoiled little niece dig
her own grave and then and only then will Jessica listen to anyone. The only way
one can learn is by their own mistakes...

I didn't "dis" Stevie- and don't make the mistake of assuming to know what Lori thinks of the matter.

Its not audacious to suggest that there must be a reason why Stevie hasn't stopped the cash yet- after all, these are three people who are largely (if not entirely, indirectly) dependent on her largesse. Its entirely possible that she's talked herself into the thought that encouraging & facilitating the development of Jessica's interests is the best thing to do.

If Stevie was as outraged at these developments as we'd like to think she is, she *could* do something about it. As long as Chris/Jessica/Lori live under Stevie's roofs, they live under her rules- unless she's so worried about losing them and being alone.

Rumour0323
10-06-2008, 03:20 PM
What makes you think they live under her roof? The house they lived in was sold. When Jess died I am sure his estate was split between Stevie and Chris so he got some money and maybe for once he is not living off of her. Jessica is no different than a lot of other priviledge children who grow up with too much, too fast and now everyone sees the error of their ways. But not much you can do with a head strong 17 year old. She will find her way. I would imagine Stevie keeps one eye on her but at the end of the day this is not her child. She probably loathes her lifestyle while at same time admires her spirit.

Wow! I think Jessica is doing great! Most people on this thread are judging Chris and Lori for the way they have raised her, using their schema of life to judge someone else’s child without understanding the world in which that child lives Thank God her parents did not put her on a short leash. I believe the freedom they gave her is what is going to make her extraordinary. Most people in this world are “plain old Joes” who are never going to go anywhere in life. They raise their children to be “plain old Joes”. The people who have 7-figure incomes know exactly what I am talking about. Since the beginning of time, average people always criticize the behavior of the above average. They just don’t understand; they can not even begin to comprehend the intensity of the life and the lifestyle of someone like Jess (or they are jealous of the opportunities she has). So they lash out.

It does not matter where the money came from; she has it and the lifestyle to go along with it. Successful people learn that to come to knowledge you have not; you must go by a way in which you know not. Terms like “crazy”, “dreamer”, “not facing reality”, “not living in the real world” are very common for “common people” to say. These are the same people who feel their “hyper” or “expressive” children should be labeled as ADHD and put on drugs to mellow them out and make them act more “like everyone else”-- sheep.

Jess is not and will not be like everyone else. She has all the opportunity in the world. She will be better and stronger because she is allowed to express herself as she sees fit. She is surrounded by talent and success. She knows what it takes to be great and great she will be. Give her time to figure out her niche.

Ahhh, the Internet, a land where you can say all manner of stupid stuff and it will come back to haunt you for the rest of your life.

I don't know Chris or Lori (though Lori strikes me as a nice lady, and Chris charges too much for old t-shirts, which drives me up a tree), and I don't know Jessica or Stevie (though if you're reading this, Stevie, call me!), but I do know 16 year old kids - and regardless of how much money they have or don't have, they do tend to say and do dumb stuff from time to time, and they also tend to be pretty self-centered. The severity may vary, but it happens. This is not to say ALL 16 year old kids do dumb stuff, but lord knows I pulled more than a few stupid stunts in my day, some of which had more far-reaching consequences than others.

The difference was my stupidity was relatively contained - I didn't have a MySpace to call people names on or post pictures of myself half-naked and swilling Natty Ice with seedy individuals - and for the most part, my stupidity was forgotten after a while. If it weren't for the Internet, would we even know Jessica has flaming hula hoops and called a chick a name unless it were reported in Rolling Stone or happened on MTV? Nah, likely not.

And so, unfortunately, she's definitely made a mistake in choosing to post stuff like this, because due to the nature of the Internet, once that stuff goes online, it doesn't really go away - 5 years from now, someone may be thinking about hiring the pretty little blue-haired girl for a major magazine spread, and then Google her name and find the post where she calls another girl the "c word" and Jessica may lose out on that job because of it.

In all honesty, the stuff we are looking at may or may not accurately reflect how she really behaves in day to day life - it could very well be typical teenage insecurity, self-centeredness and posturing - and the stuff likely has no bearing on her ability to model or throw flaming sticks around. All the name-calling and snottiness aside, she looks great, does she not? And I certainly can't hula hoop with fire, so well done there. But people will see those things and judge anyway - it's just what people do.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Jessica isn't necessarily any better or worse than the kid down the block - and if you look at a cross-section of the average teen profiles on MySpace, you'll see what I mean - we just see her differently because she's La Nicks' niece, and since we all hold La Nicks in such high esteem, perhaps we tend to expect better of Jessica by association.

But it's a lesson for everyone, not just the kiddies - if you don't want people thinking you're a skanky little so-and-so, think very carefully before you put something on the Interweb.

Just my 55 cents.

Sometimes you cannot. You only learn by your mistakes....She is no
different. I am not a mother, but anyone with brains would not like
their daughter flaunting herself thru out the internet....
I don't know how Lori feels, but I am sure she is not happy with this.
If she reads the internet, she knows what her daughter is writing.

Jessica lost me entirely when she called another woman a c*** in a public forum.

I agree, this young girl has every advantage for college, vacations, cars for gifts and just wants to spit on the average people. I would love to give her the benefit of the doubt but the case rest. Spoiled little rich girl . She'll meet more of her kind that spit right back at her only these girls will have made it on their OWN. Good luck little F ing Nicks . Good riddens! Totally disgusts me when kids are given so much and all they do is piss all over people,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:wavey: Good luck when your on your own!

You know the kid's not that special when people want to know the brand of car.

If she constantly walks around with the 'my aunt is Stevie Nicks, so f-off' chip on her shoulder she'll be in for a hard time. As much as I love Stevie, she's not the flavour of the month anymore. Her heyday (for lack of a better word) has long gone. And I don't mean to be disrespectful, but in today's global media circus, Stevie is not comparable to Britney, etc. It may have been in the '70's and '80's, but not now. And if you ask most kids around here if they like Stevie Nicks, you'll get either a) who? or b) never heard of him.

If she was so bothered about distancing herself from these supposed freeloaders she'd either try to be a bit more subtle or change her name.

I kind of feel bad , calling her a spoiled brat---I really know nothing about her or what her life has been REALLY like. But I do get the feeling she does seem to have the F-off chip on her shoulder. Imagine the opportunities to go to any college, vacations and parents that can afford her therapy if needed. All teens rebell, but this girl seems to be throwing away some beautiful gifts. People die everyday from lack of medical and this girl lives in mansions and wants for no material thing.:(

Wow! That's horrible!! Your post sounds a little bitter. Spoiled little rich girl? Are you kidding me? It is not like they bought her a Lambo or a Bentley for her first car--- its a Subaru for God's sake!! Lots of kids get a car for their 16th birthday -- just look at any high school parking lot. She is privileged....but not as privileged as many other children her age (if she were, she would be cruising down Scottsdale Ave in her brand new S-Class Benz, not a $25K Subaru) You know nothing about Jess other than what you "think" you see.

DeeGeMe

True 'dat. I had a much more expensive car than a Suburu before I even got my DL---and I was 15 at the time. So I can't say she's spoiled on that alone. Chip on shoulder? Most teens do. I'm cutting her some slack because a) her parents have split up--that's traumatic at any age, let alone at her age and b) yeah, it's got to be annoying as hell to try and forge your own identity in the shadow of a famous relative. Hopefully she'll grow out of whatever stage she is in but then again, maybe she won't. I knew a lot of snotty, privilaged kids when I was in school (attended a wealthy HS) and some are still the same assholes they were then, some 2o plus years later.

Maybe I do sound bitter. Nobody gave me a damn thing since I was 16 and on my own. worked 2nd shift as I went to HS. No time for fun things and as life went on,so did the hardships. No, I don't know much about this young girl, but calling people c*nts is definatly a sign she has little respect for others. Teens will do that , but this is a girl that has grown up with luxury and shouldn't be belittling the less fortunate. It's classless. If she wants respect, she needs to give it.

Gotta agree with you. I may have not been raised with all the money in the world. But the one thing my parents taught me was respect for everyone. And that is priceless. I can't even utter the 'c' word, never mind say or spell it to a random person, no matter how insulting they are. She should've been the better person and walked away instead of lowering herself to their level. And now look. She has all she'll ever need in life, as well as the apparent right to call people whatever she wants.

I don't judge people, and how much someone earns has no bearing on me, but it's hard not to form an opinion on her when she appears to be acting the way she does - on the internet.

Everytime I re read this thread, I say Little Girl Lost. I am sure you have your side of the story Jess, and owe us no input.
But in all honesty, your just another spoiled lost child and I hope grace finds you a way to find whom you really wanna be. There's probably a very intelligent girl in there that wants to be known for her own talents. You seem to be rubbing many of us the wrong way out of the frustration of not getting the talents recognized you possess.

Good luck and PLEASE, if you read this, you get more flies from honey than you do venom. Most of us are cheering FOR you but you push us away too.

I don't really mind knowing but it's the judging I can do without...

a quick comment or two is fine like "i like her blue hair better than the pink" or "I never got a car at 16!!" or "fire twirling, what's that all about? I guess twirling runs in the family"

anything beyond that is just gossip and though normally I love gossip, I feel uncomfortable reading judgements about a seventeen year old's life and choices...

ahh, another ethical dilemma of being a Stevie fan
