I don't understand this.

The only thing I can say is maybe Stevie will do a short little tour in October to support the release. She'll come on back over to the West Coast this time.

Has the PBS website listed a release date? If what we are going by is the release date on Amazon or Pauseandplay.com, it could just mean that the PBS website has an exclusivity window on this release. Maybe they have a month to sell it on their site before it goes into general release.

WHAT THE F*CK!!!! this is really pissing me off now. There's no reason for this.

My take on this is Economics 101: Supply vs Demand
...there was more demand from the PBS orders than expected and that has them scrambling to produce product to honor those orders first.

Man- I hope you're right! After all, Lindsey will still be touring. The Mac thing probably won't get started until January anyway, so she has time. :D

Typical Stevie.

Come on, that's not true. There are alot of things that can hold up the release of this. Really. Alot of production and distribution stuff that Stevie has nothing to do with. It's comes down to a corporate decision, not an artistic one.

Well, how can it be Stevie's fault this time when we've already seen Soundstage?

Maybe she needs to overdub over the horrible vocals that were 'Enchanted', 'If Anyone Falls', and 'The One'. :p

Well that enuf for me. I had preordered from Amazon on May 28 for an August releas. Now with all this I just give up and cancled the order. Besides do I realy need the same old songs I already have in spades? I'm desperatly in need of new material.

What frusterates me is that anytime she has something that is supposed to be released on a certain date, it changes...why is that?

All of Stevie's releases get the dates changed. This has been happening for years, this is no different at all. Then there are the things like the Live Melbourne CD/DVD that was promoted and talked about prior to the show, even DURING the show, but that never happened at all.
There's no point in getting upset about the dates changing because that's one of the deals of being a Stevie fan, her stuff is always getting pushed back. I don't think there has been a single release from her in the past twenty years that hasn't had the date bumped. Even "Crystal Visions" kept getting changed.
That's just the way it is. Aside from this being the norm for Stevie, she's no longer a top of the charts artist so where is the motivation from the lable to get it out there now? There is none. If they wait until the fall they can get the holiday crowd and possibly sell more copies.

The dvd should arrive around Oct. 31st, thats what Amazon is saying, so as time seems to be flying, it should be here in no time....at least thats what I tell myself!:wavey:

Well, I definitely want the dvd like yesterday, but I am on vacation (last day of it)
and so my inclination to whatever faded for a moment, now its all coming back, the pissed offness with the music /amazon authorities! silly wabbits!

Holy crap!! I just did order it last week. I'm going to call and see what they say when I check my order status. I hope it's not for re-shoots ala Red Rocks. That made it look cheesy, although SN did look better in the new shots than the actual concert footage then. Now she looks freakin' awesome and there should be no reason to add that stuff. :distress:

It can't be for reshoots--it's already aired on TV. And Stevie is away on vacation anyhow until October. It's probably hung up elsewhere in production.

I think it's a case of Stevie perfecting it with vocal overdubs, since it will be on store-shelves for many years, she wants to tweak it a little- i saw most of the shows the 2 weeks they aired, but missed EO17, and many here on The Ledge said her vocal was tired by then, so she can be doing some studio re-recording. Actually i think reshoots are possible even though it's aired on PBS already- closeups could be added, or angles changed- another comment i read here was that the camera moved too much, into the audience, to the bandmembers, more than necessary- if it was shot with multi-cameras, they can be trying to re-edit parts of it that people complained about. i think mainly it's sound overdubbing, or mixing-
Sorta maybe related--back in '99, HBO aired Cher's "Believe" concert during which she made a vocal flub on 'Just Like Jesse James' and it aired and many of us had it on VHS- when the DVD release came, several months later, the glitch was gone, and the line sung as if she'd never missed a note. Also, hysterically funny to me, less-so to my friend, was that same year we saw Cher at Jones Beach and she had a priceless lyric mixup during 'Half Breed'-- the correct lyric was "we never settled, went from town to town" and her Cherness sang: "we never traveled, went from town to town" which blew his theory that "at 53, she can't possibly sing the show live. She'll pre-record her vocals and lip, it'll be different enough from the records that she'll seem to be singing live, but she won't be"--
After 'we never traveled' he had to admit it'd be unlikely that she'd pre-record THAT.

Funny how 53 doesn't seem nearly as old now, as it did back in '99.
So, re-takes happen. Who knows, maybe Stevie's even working on a nice dvd-booklet to go with the package.
In any case, i think we'll all be really happy with it, once it finally IS in our hands, say, by mid-November.
It's Rock a Little all over again :)
the waiting is the hardest part...and sometimes, even fun. Who knows what little differences we'll be able to enjoy as we watch the dvd, and i'm betting there will be some.
(maybe no slapping the thighs together to the time of the music--on 2 songs) :) Just move that camera up an inch or two, there ya go, right there, thank you very much.....leave the other thigh-slaps in. 'Enchanted' needs all the help it can get :)
(actually not sure that 'enchanted' actually was one of the 2 'well slap my chunky little thighs together' songs:)

Could be an issue with Beauty and The Beast - and the reason we didn't see it on tv.

Didn't they perform that song with the audience along with the footage from the film in the background.... Then WITHOUT the audience, they redid the song with an orchestra and without the film footage?

Could be a licensing issue...

Hi Brian! Nice to see you back where you belong! Mine still says "picking"! How long does it take to "pick" a dvd?! Brian, tell me tell me...Oh Brian won't you tell me tonight? :xoxo: I'm thinking that in warehouse lingo it means that the order has been dropped to actually pick from a storage bin of some kind. When it is prepped for shipping or on its' way to our humble little abodes, it goes into the "shipping" status. :woohoo:

PBS took the money out of my account yesterday and my status also now shows as "shipping".

I can't wait for it. I recorded Part 1 and part 2 to dvr and somehow part 1 was mysteriously erased from the dvr list.

No, because you didn't order Bass Hall, so you can't order this. Just put it in your Netflix queue.
