View Full Version : So who was Stevie's last "One"?
I saw the second part of Soundstage (missed the first one & my cable co. just showed it once), & I saw her and Vanessa sing "The One". Now I know Joe Walsh was Stevie's "One", so she says. I googled Joe to see if he was married & I thought he was, then I found out who he had dated. And Stevie's picture was there, so I clicked on her to find out who she dated (& I know it was quite a few men), but Waddy's picture was there. Now I thought for sure that she never dated Waddy; I may be wrong here. But I was just thinking, who was the very last man she dated & for how long? I'm sure someone here can answer this. Do you think she'll ever date again or do you think she has just had it with men in general?

I'm not sure who the last guy was, but I did hear that Stevie and Lindsey were kind of sort of together durring The Dance tour, until the two found out that Lindsey was a "daddy to be", with Kristen. I also read in an article durring the Trouble In Shangri-La tour that Stevie was dating some one and she wouldn't tell who it was.
When I used to post on Seven Wonders we had talked a lot about it, and several people speculated Chris Issac.

Actually, there is beaucoup evidence to support The Dance affair. But, the time fr arguing that is way past.
I think that in the context of the song, LB was "the one" -- he was not the one she ended up with, but she still apparently loves him to distraction and vice versa even though they are not together, which is the point of the song.
But, I agree that Joe likely was the love of her life in that sweep you of of your feet way.

I remember someone spotted Stevie in a restaurant eating with a younger man. Sure enough, Stevie later said in an interview that she had dated a younger man. This was kind of recent.

Yes, she said this about 10 years ago. She was 49 I think and he was 29 and "really very fond of her" in her own words. I think this came from that Australian or English Magazine interview a few years back??

Yeah, I mean, it's hard to know who she's dated and whatnot. I think that she should go out on a date with my dad, now that my parents are splitting up. Could you imagine getting picked up from school?
Intercom: "Ethan, Stevie Nicks is in the office to see you. Please come immeditely."
Just a thought.....

Some tidbits --
Sunday, 30 September 2007
Does she have a man in her life now? "No, I don't. I had a relationship three years ago with someone I'd gone out with a long time ago. It didn't work out then and it didn't work out now. It just proved my theory that you can never go back. Before that, in 1997, around the time of The Dance, I went out with somebody for a little over a year who was quite enamoured with me. I decided he was way too young for me, though. I was nearly 50 and he was nearly 30. We had a riot but I said that eventually he would make me feel extremely old, so I ended it. But I'm never not open to the possibility of romance."
She says that her last relationship ended, or rather never really took off, because she made a huge amount of money in a publishing deal, and she was thrilled and excited but she couldn't share it. "I was tickled, thrilled, and I made the mistake of telling somebody who was struggling in this business. As the words came out of my mouth, I could see that he didn't think it was funny. So I knew our relationship was never going to work because I can't be a person who is not going to share that moment."

I heard it was the Dixie Chicks Landslide but the timing wouldn't be right, according to Stevie's timeline.
I found this an interesting quote. She makes it sound like she didn't have a relationship for 10 years.

I'm going to guess that it had something to do with her involvement with Sony/ATV, and Michael Jackson's then-mounting legal bills/cash crunch.

In that article, she mentions separately that she made $7 million off of Landslide, ostensibly from the DC.
I would love to go in her manager's business files or an afternoon.

Ok...that would be where the assumption came from then.

Unfortunately, most of the younger generation would think it was some student whose mom calls him Stevie. We're all uncultured swine, under 30.

26 to be exact, but I've had a very weird life until about 4 years ago. I grew up in a cult with a, literally paranoid schizophrenic mom who was alternately Ms. Walton, a grifter, an education lobbyist and DV advocate, who serially married and is now on her 7th husband. There were no boundaries and we were all introduced to adult problems at the earliest of ages, I learned how to draft legal documents at the age of 6, and grew up listening to my mom "auditioning" her next husband's in the room next door. I was homeschooled and spent most of my time around adults. I went from being an star student, with a stellar record in the CAP, to a young punk with a bad temper who impregnated his much older now ex-wife, then finally to a family man, musician and businessman. A lot of life crammed into a few short years.

ajmccarrell, please jump the book phase and write the script already. So I can see the movie sooner. :)
About Stevie, I really doubt she became a nun in the last ten years, probably she just learnt the qualities of reservedness.

Funny you should say that. One thing I left out was that I was kidnapped and molested at an early age by a church sex ring. According to my mom, Ron Howard wanted to do a movie about it. I'm not sure if it was a lie or not.
